“Nn are you there?” Ca asked at the other side of the line to be sure that Nn was listening. She was so excited to share what she considered to be very good news.


    “What the f*ck do you want?” He hissed in annoyance.


    “I don’t have all day, spill!” Ca could tell that he was not in the mood. It was even better to tell him when he was angry. Everyone knew how he acted when he was pissed.


    “It’s about La..” she began as she swirled the ss of wine she was holding.


    “What about La?” Nn asked, suddenly bing interested at the mention of La.


    “You know she’s pregnant right?” Ca smiled as she went straight to the point. She would have loved to say it straight to his face, but neither was he home when she went there and he also left the office in a hurry.


    The enthusiasm within her couldn’t wait till they met.


    Nn’s jaw worked as he remained quiet, it seems as if he was the only one who was left in the dark, even Ca knew about La’s pregnancy.


    “You know the most interesting part of it all..” she continued, seeing that Nn was quiet.


    Her thoughts were that maybe Nn was so surprised and shocked about the News.


    “You’re not the father of the baby..” she said and Nn’s knuckles suddenly turned white.


    What the fuck was Ca taking about? What did she mean by he was not the father?


    “It turns out that La ran away from home because she was pregnant. She got pregnant by a random man back in Seattle..” she added as she grinned ear to ear.


    Nn’s nerves seemed to have settled when Ca mentioned that La got pregnant in Seattle. He remembered vividly that they both had sex in Seattle and it happened to be La’s first time being with a man.


    “I feel so sorry for you Nn..” she began in a low tone trying to form a pity card.


    “I mean you’re such a great guy and look at what La did to you. She’s so despicable. I wonder why the moon goddess would bestow a shameless woman like her to you. I mean she’s so loose and goes…”


    “Ca” Nn interrupted in a low and dangerous tone.


    “Yes, Nn. Should Ie over? Where are you now?” She grilled, she couldn’t wait to see the look on La’s face when Nn would be throwing her out.


    “The next time you say such rubbish about La again. I promise, you’ll lose your tongue!” He warned in a stern voice that Ca felt chills run through her spine. He disconnected the call after that and went straight for the doctor’s office.


    Ca blinked repeatedly in shock as she tried to process what just happened. What Nn just said to her. He did not believe her!!! He even threatened to cut out her tongue because of La!


    She had to p herself repeatedly to make sure she was not dreaming. What just happened!!

    “Good day, Mr Nn” Karen, who was the female doctor, greeted as Nn got into her office.


    “Please have your sir” she offered and Nn took his seat.


    “How’s La doing?” He asked, feeling disgusted at himself as he knew fully well that he put her in the condition all in the name of getting her punished. It was his fault!


    He had been nothing but kind to La.


    “Thank God you brought her in just in time or else the situation would have been moreplicated..” Karen informed. She was a well known gynecologist in the city of New York.


    “I can assure you that she’s out of danger for now..” she said with a warm smile on her face.


    “What about the baby?” Nn queried.


    “Both mother and child are fine and are in good health..” she stated and Nn found himself breathing in relief. His wolf seemed to have also calmed down.


    “But I just say. La is a very luckydy..” the doctor began.


    “You see when she came in here, she was in a very critical condition not just La but the child most especially..” she stated and Nn felt like his veins were about to burst.


    “I must say it’s a miracle that they’re both fine.


    In most cases like this, the mother ends up losing the pregnancy and in some other cases both mother and child lose their lives..”


    “Not to talk of La’s condition. You know, thest time she came here, I told her to stay away from any form of stress and that her child was in danger. I also asked after the father of her child and she mentioned that he was in the military. You’re the father right?” Karen asked to be sure. As long as she was concerned Nn Adlen was a rich business man and was not known to be in the military.


    “I…” Nn paused as he thought hard on what to say. After what he did to La and child, he had no idea if he was even worthy to be called a father or even less an Alpha. The guilt weighing down on him was just too much.


    “Yes..” he finally uttered after much contemtion.


    “Oh I see..” Karen muttered nodding her head slowly.


    “Your wife is still unconscious, but I’d advise you to take very good care of her from now on. As I can’t assure you if she woulde out alive the next time something like this happens..” she advised.


    “When will she wake up?” Nn questioned.


    “Anytime from now but she’s fine. I’m also going to set out a diet for her that she’s to follow strictly and you’ll also get these medicines for her..” she informed handing over a piece of paper to him.
