Nn remained quiet after hearing Karen’s question. He remained puzzled on what to say.


    He actually abused her, he tried her and whipped her mercilessly and even left her in her room without asking after her.


    “I’ll just ask La after she regains consciousness..” Karen spoke out seeing Nn was quiet. Whip marks were found in her body and it only pointed at abuse.

    Nn sat up from the chair after collecting the piece of paper Karen had given him as he walked out of the office.


    “Nn how’s she?” Xander asked the moment Nn approached them, Aurora spranging up from the chair she was sitting.


    “She’s fine now though she’s still unconscious” Nn replied.


    “And get baby?” Aurora asked anxiously.


    “They’re both fine..” Nn responded as Xander and Aurora breathed out in relief.


    “You’re so lucky La and her baby is fine ” Aurora began in a venomous voice as Xander held her back.


    “Don’t touch me Xander!” She snapped at him.


    “You know I love giving people a piece of my mind” she added.


    “Noa La is fine. I have a request to make, Mr Nn..” she began cing her both hands together.


    “Please do well to take very good care of my friend. You know she’s pregnant now so I hope you stop her from working, and let her enjoy the happiness of being pregnant. Thank you..” she concluded as she sat down. She was going to wait till La regained consciousness.


    “Nn what are you going to do now?” Xander asked.


    “Ok going to wait till she wakes up. You can go. I’ll call you once she wakes up. Take her with you..” he pointed at Aurora who was seated with her hands crossed.


    “I’m not going anywhere, Mr Nn..” she insisted on a stren voice. “I’m going to wait!”


    “Come on Aurora, we should leave..” Xander tried convincing Aurora who red dangerously at him.


    “Just go home and freshen up. I’lle and pick you up first thing tomorrow. I’m sure by then La will be awake already..” he said softly hoping that Aurora would agree. She was very stubborn and only believed I’m doing what she felt was right.


    “I’m not moving from this spot Xander. And don’t even try convincing. You’re thest person, I’d ever listen to on this earth..” she fired at him. She still hadn’t forgiven him for what he had done to get in the past and she wasn’t even nning on forgiving him neither was she nning on talking to him.


    “I know you don’t like me but I’m only looking out for you as a friend of La’s. You should go home and have some rest. Probably you can make some food for La, did she can have that once she wakes up. you know her more than any of us here..” he suggested and that seemed to have done the trick as scarlet instantly agreed.

    ABOUT TWO DAYS LATER….


    La’s eyes fluttered open, and she found herself staring up at a harsh, fluorescent light. She blinked, trying to clear the haze from her mind. She felt groggy and disoriented, and she had no idea where she was.


    As her vision cleared, she realized she was in a hospital room. Her mind raced as she tried to remember what had happened. Thest thing she remembered was passing out in Nn’s arms.


    “You’re awake!” a voice said, and La turned to see a nurse standing next to her bed.


    “What happened? Where am I?” she asked, her voice hoarse.


    “You fainted and your husband brought you here” the nurse said, her tone gentle but firm.


    “You’ve been unconscious for a few days.” La’s eyes widened in shock. A few days?


    La tried to take a deep breath, but her heart was pounding in her chest. A few days? She felt dizzy and nauseous, and she was starting to panic.


    “What about Aurora?” she asked, her voice shaking. “Where’s she?”


    “Your husband just left a few minutes ago..” the nurse announced and La felt her heart sink. Was she talking about Nn? When did that seriously get married?


    He put her in the condition she was in.


    She felt her head spin and get hands began to shake. She was scared. If Nn brought her to the hospital, that means he already knew about her pregnancy. Only God knew what his reaction would be.

    “I’ll get the doctor and also call your husband and tell him that you’re finally awake..” the nurse smiled warmly at her.


    “He’s been so worried about you and hardly left for side. Your friend also, she’d be so happy to see you” the nurse informed.


    Aurora hade to the hospital the other day with high expectations, only for her to discover that La was not yet awake. She ended up throwing a tantrum, if not for the intervention of Xander, heavens know what would have happened.


    “Can you call Aurora?” La requested, she knew Aurora would be deeply worried about her, she wanted to tell her that she was fine.


    “Yes, I’ll do that after I’m done with this” the nurse responded with a smile.


    “Thanks” La mumbled as she slowly moved her hand to touch her stomach.


    “Don’t worry your baby is safe” the nurse voiced as if she read her thoughts and La immediately smiled brightly.


    “I hope you’re not feeling any major pains?” The nurse inquired and La shook her head.


    “Not really. Just a slight headache..” she informed.


    “It’s normal. Seeing you’ve been unconscious. I’ll add some pain killers to your IV. The doctor will also check your vitals to make sure they’re stable..” the nurse said warmly.


    “Okay thanks” La appreciated.


    “Good, get some rest. I’ll be back soon” and with that the nurse left the room, leaving La alone.
