Moonlight Academy

As they moved further away from the city many people started screaming at Jane, pleading to her to slow down the wyverns.

Jane chuckled when she heard them but she did not act immediately. Only after all 20 of them were asking for help did she slow down the wyverns. ‘She is clearly enjoying this.’ Everyone had the same exact thought in mind.

Jane laughed merrily when she looked at their faces. She had completely forgotten about the wyvern issue from before.

On their way she told them many things about the academy and the Starfall Kingdom.

Apparently, the academies could be seen as a defense barrier built by the kingdom. The Starfall Continent was covered by mountains that reached the clouds on the western and southern sides making it almost impossible to pass through, the eastern side is a coastal region and the northern side is connected by land to another kingdom.

Two academies each look after a region jointly explaining why there were 6 academies. While the northern side was managed by the Royal Academy and the kingdom. Although the kingdom is located in the center of the continent, they would regularly send out people to the northern region to make up the difference.

They also got to know that the Moonlight Academy was the one in charge of half of the coast line along with the Luminous Academy who controlled the other half. These two academies were considered the top two academies in the continent after the Royal Academy.

Everyone couldn’t help but think and admire how well thought and managed everything looked in their continent. They knew all this was only on the outside and there must be problems everywhere, but they still felt it was well managed.

They were also very happy and proud to know that they were part of such a strong Academy.

Their plan for the journey was to reach a city with a teleportation circle and head straight to the academy through it.

They took breaks in many cities every couple of hours. Jane fed the group many delicacies from the regions they passed. When everyone thanked her, a devilish smile appeared on her face as she told them all this is not for free and she would make everyone work to the bone to repay her.

When everyone heard this, they stopped eating for a moment and could already see themselves going through hell. From the time they spent with Jane, they knew that she did what she said without any exceptions.

Kai and Allura who were sitting beside each other just looked at each other and smiled wryly.

2 days later. “Finally, we are in the city!” A handsome young man jumped down from the wyvern as he stretched himself.

“What a big city no wonder it has a teleportation circle.” A beautiful young lady said as she looked around the city.

They were naturally Kai and Allura.

Their group has finally reached the city that will teleport them to the academy.

Jane took the group to the teleportation circle after sending the wyverns back into the circles they came from. She also called back Alice into the necklace.

She showed the guard at the teleportation circle a badge in the shape of a half moon which was glowing majestically.

The guard bowed to her and gestured for them to enter.

Everyone followed Jane to the circle.

Just as the circle was starting to glow Jane smiled and said, “Aah, I forgot, just a friendly warning since this is your first time using the circle, you will definitely feel dizzy once you get out the other side and will 100% vomit no exceptions.”

She then handed a cloth bag to each of them. “Remember to vomit in that and not on the ground, if you do so you will have to clean it up yourself.”

Everyone eyes widened with horror. ‘This crazy woman’ this was all they could think about before the light glowed to its peak and they were teleported.

Jane has been pranking and tricking them since the beginning of the journey, many have already started planning that when they grow stronger how they will get their revenge.

The next moment they were at another location, but none of them had time to worry about their surroundings. It was just as Jane said, all 20 people were stumbling here and there and just when they thought it was getting better.

Their stomachs churned as they felt an uncontrollable urge to vomit. Since they weren’t warned about this sooner many missed the bag given to them by Jane and vomited on the ground.

Kai had good reflexes so he was about to put the bag in front his mouth but he saw Allura who was about to vomit on the floor. Without a second thought he placed his bag before Allura’s mouth before turning around and doing the deed himself on the ground.

Jane didn’t even turn around, she looked at everyone, laughing so loudly that tears were forming in her eyes.

At this point everyone in the group were already thinking of different ways of taking revenge for their continuous humiliations by her hand.

After everyone settled down, the people who did the deed on the ground were already preparing to clean their mess when Jane stopped them when she stopped laughing.

“What? Do you all seriously want to clean it so badly, I mean if you want to do it so badly be my guest. The circle does have a built-in self-cleaning formation set up but why bother? Right? Right?” She then continued laughing when she looked at their faces again.

“Thank you, Kai, if not for you I would have been really embarrassed.” Allura said as she diverted eye contact with Kai, her face a little red.

If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it.

“It’s alright no need to say thank you for every single thing between friends.” Kai smiled politely at her before saying.

    Allura nodded a little.

After everything settled down and Jane was done laughing, they walked out of the circle as they looked in front of them, they found a large pure blue ocean with clear water, the air felt amazing and the sounds of the waves were very calming.

Behind them were many guards, standing fully equipped with armor and weapons, they were standing on either side of a large gate, ready for anything, when they saw Jane, they relaxed and let the youths enter the gate.

Jane explained that this was one of the many entrances to the academy and also that this was just the outer region and the place they would be going to was still an hour’s journey away, she then added- “With the top speeds of the wyverns that is.” She said this in a playful tone.

At this point everyone here is done resisting her little games and just started playing along.

After one hellish hour later, the youths appeared in a majestic room which was larger than Kai’s entire house. The place was well furnished and excluded a soothing aura that stabilized their mood a little.

“I swear Jane, I always tell you to bring back children but you always bring back skeletons with you.” A middle-aged handsome man said before turning to look at the children who had pale expressions and looked as if they were already dead.

They were elated when they found out there was someone who could relate to their pain, and possibly help them, they knew just by looking at the man that he must have a pretty high rank position in the Academy, at least they hoped so.

“Hmph, I was just bringing them along the normal way I always do, who knows how they turned out like this.” Jane defended.

Everyone looked at her with hateful eyes. When they first saw her during the assessment, they couldn’t be more deceived by her innocent appearance.

The man chuckled a little before introducing himself “Aah, where are my manners, let me introduce myself. My name is Lucas, you all can call me Big Brother Lucas. I am the headmaster of the Moonlight Academy.” He said with a big smile.

Everyone was taken aback when they heard this man was the headmaster of the academy, his casual and friendly tone didn’t make him seem like it. The hell with Big Brother Lucas, they couldn’t even dream of calling him so casually.

“Are you really the headmaster?” One man among them couldn’t help but ask.

Lucas smiled at this. The very next moment the aura of the room changed from the soothing aura to a life-threatening aura, a glow could be seen in Lucas’s eyes as a pressure befell everyone there. Everyone there fell to the ground, except Jane of course.

“Show off.” Jane commented before taking a seat beside the man.

Everything only lasted for a few seconds before disappearing, but it felt like a few years have passed by already for them. They looked at the man, they didn’t have any doubt now, the man before them was one of the 10 strongest people in the continent.

Just when they were getting a little happy, their mood changed in a second when they heard Jane.

“Don’t get your hopes up of getting rid of me, I am this childish man’s wife, he may be the headmaster but I am stronger than him. So, I will make sure to get back everything you all got from me during the journey.” Jane stated proudly.

‘I pity these children.’ Lucas said internally with a sigh. He didn’t dare to say this out loud in Jane’s presence.

No one doubted Jane’s words they know Jane was not one who would boast.

“Why would such a powerful person like you come to our small city?” A lady from the group asked. They were all still on the floor completely exhausted from all the things they have experienced in these 2 days.

“I was bored.” That was all Jane said, everyone cursed their luck. They threw the thought of getting revenge on her out of their head.

Lucas shook his head and passed a pill each, to the youths. After taking these, they felt all their exhaustion of 2 days disappear in a moment. ‘What a miraculous item’ Kai thought.

Lucas then passed on 20 rings to the youth, one for each. “These rings are called spatial rings, they have the ability to create a separate dimension and store things in it.”

“Each ring has a rule book, a map of the academy, your disciple clothes and a badge with all your information already in it, including where you will be staying. They are very easy to use so you won’t have any problems. These are common and distributed to everyone so keep it.” Lucas explained.

“How did you create all this when we just arrived right now.” Kai asked.

Lucas looked at Kai for a second before answering “We have special communication methods to transmit long distance messages. They were all sent to me by Lane.”

After answering a few more questions, they were dismissed. Lucas had Kai stay behind.

Before leaving, Allura informed him that she would come find him after they settled, for which Kai only nodded.

“So, you are the one who didn’t have any talent.” Lucas looked at Kai skeptical, Lane has already told him about the assessment and the wyvern incident so he wasn’t sure of how to relate the two incidents, he didn’t think the cause was Allura the reason for this was Alice.

Alice wouldn’t even lower her head for Lane or Lucas much less Allura. But believing it was the doing of Kai was even more unbelievable.

Jane summoned the wyverns and Alice again and they had the same reaction from back then towards Kai. This confirmed that all this was Kai’s doing. They were confused on how to deal with this.

“Well, no matter what, since you were taken in as a servant you will fulfil your duties. You will be told the specifics by an elder, you can leave for now.” Lucas said.

Kai bowed to them before leaving.

After leaving he wore the ring in his index finger and took out the badge which was just like Jane’s but ten times smaller and didn’t glow. It had his name imprinted in it.

He noticed that unlike others he had a servant’s uniform instead of a disciple’s, he even had a different rule book from the rest, he put it away and took out the map. He studied the map for a while before heading towards the administration department.

In the room he was previously at, “Why did you not just let him become a disciple? Even with no talent he was able to make Alice lower her head there must be something about him that we don’t know of.” Jane told Lucas who was in deep thought.

“I can let him become a disciple, but with no talent he will constantly be bullied and treated badly not only by the other disciples but also the teachers. If he doesn’t prove his worth before becoming a disciple it would do him more harm than good.” Lucas explained.

Lane nodded after pondering for a while. What Lucas said was correct and made sense.

“Besides isn’t the transfer competition coming up. If he wins then he will get to become a disciple automatically while also showing his worth.” Lucas said with a mysterious smile.

“But he hasn’t even started learning yet and the other servants are already at the middle to late stage of the Foundation Stage.” Lane said a little worried.

“If he is fated to become a disciple then he will, we can’t show any favoritism to anyone in the academy.” Lucas sighed. He didn’t miss the moment Lane showed worry but didn’t comment on it.

Kai entered the administration department and found the elder ‘Big Brother Lucas’ told him to go speak with, the elder’s name was Keith and he had a really bad temper with fiery features.

He quickly found an elder who matched this description.

Kai approached him “Hello, I was sent here by The Headmaster to speak with you about what I have to do here after becoming a servant.”

Keith looked at him with anger, he was taking a break when he was suddenly disturbed.

“So, you are the talentless fool? Haven’t seen one of your kind for a long time. The last one died quite miserably” He mocked Kai, trying to scare him.

When he found that Kai didn’t show any change in expression, he felt a little disappointed. He threw a paper at Kai. “Do all that and leave me alone. Go back to your room and start working tomorrow.” Keith told him, irritation evident in his voice.

Kai realized that if he said another word he would get in trouble, therefore he took the paper, bowed and thanked the elder before leaving.

After he left, he sat down on a bench nearby and started reading the paper given to him by the elder.

The paper contained information about his daily and weekly quotas that he needed to complete. If he failed to do so he would be punished accordingly.

He read the daily quota that he would have to complete daily starting tomorrow and he couldn’t help but worry when he looked at it. He then looked at the weekly quota which was totally different from the daily quota, and he was actually a little excited to start it.

The daily quota made him bring 100 logs of wood, 100 herbs of a particular kind and 100 buckets of water from a forest half an hour away from the servant’s compartment. He had to do this every day.

While the weekly quota made him help out in each summoning, forging, pill refining, array creation and cultivation areas which were used by disciples. He would need to go there and ask if they needed any assistance like- needing any material or calling someone or basically anything.

Although the Moonlight Academy was famous for summoning arts it didn’t mean that other arts were not taught here. The academy was one of the top academies for a reason.

He went to the servant compartment after this, half an hour later he could be seen lying on the bed in his room reading the rule book.

His room was quite spacious which shocked him when he saw it. It had a bed an attached washroom and even a small kitchen, everything Kai could ask for.

There were multiple buildings in the area where his room was, each containing ten to twenty such rooms.

“I will think about what to do next tomorrow.” Kai decided as he kept the book back in the ring and slept within seconds.

The next morning, when he woke up and opened his eyes. “AAAAAHHHHHH” he screamed at the top of his lungs. He fell down his bed in the process.

Before him once again was that annoying screen that mocked him for his talentlessness.

He took a deep breath as he got back on his feet and looked at the screen, totally annoyed.

“Has it come to mock me now that I have become a servant. I will let you know whoever you are beforehand that I don’t plan on staying like this for long.” Kai warned the screen, but the screen showed no response.

Kai cautiously took steps towards it and then read what was written on it.
