“What the hell is this thing? It’s literally mocking me for not having a talent.” He looked at the letters written in a strange light blue background screen that appeared in front of him out of thin air, he felt infuriated.


    He decided to leave it since he did not want to get more irritated than he already was. Like how could he not be irritated? the people he could understand, but even this strange thing that came out of nowhere is mocking him!


    There were still a few hours before night-time , so he decided to go to the person’s house he made a deal with for selling his house.


    As he walked there, he could feel the unpleasant gazes of everyone that saw him. He felt very uncomfortable.


    “Hey, you trash! Stop right there!” A bulky young man pointed at Kai as he shouted with a grin on his face.


    Kai continued walking without giving any notice to the man.


    This made the man’s face turn a little red due to how openly he ignored and embarrassed him with so many people around watching.


    He stood up and walked in front of Kai blocking his path with five more people that were standing behind him. Each with a smug smile.


    “May I help you with something James?” Kai questioned staring straight into James eyes.


    James used to be the few people who he had talked with while being in the city, although they weren’t friends the weren’t enemies either.


    The bulky man named James snorted at this. “How dare you ignore me when I called you?”


    “You called me?” Kai questioned raising an eyebrow.


    “Are you not only a trash but also deaf? I called you trash there are no other trash here other than you so I obviously called you.” James roared.


    “Huh, now I am even confused I can see one right in front me.” Kai pointed his finger at James. “I thought you just liked talking to yourself so I ignored it.” He continued.


    James’s face turned even redder now with immense anger as he lunged to attack Kai.


    Kai swiftly moved to the side and dodged the attack effortlessly before kicking James’s left knee making him fall head first into the ground. He then kicked his stomach making him roll onto the ground and falling unconscious.


    This shocked everyone by how easily he defeated James who has already started learning the mythical arts and was already at the 2^nd Foundation Stage.


    One has to know that even if Kai didn’t have any talent, he has not been sitting around all these years wasting his time, he has dedicated 6 years- training his body and learning from various people while sparring. He has even fought people in the late stages of the Foundation Stage. He could be said to be one of the strongest person who hasn’t started learning the arts.


    The five people who didn’t even start learning the arts who were with James were scared witless of what to do.


    To their surprise Kai just glanced at them for a moment before walking away towards his destination, leaving the unconscious body on the ground.


    Kai reached his destination. He talked with the buyer for an hour, he didn’t have any trouble selling the house as the deal was already set priorly. After Kai would leave in two days the house will officially be theirs. He completed the paperwork and got pretty decent money for the house.


    The currency of the continent was identical to the talent grades with bronze coins being of the lowest value. The conversions were as followed- 1 silver coin is equal to a 100 bronze coins, 1 gold coin is equal to a 100 silver coins, and 1 diamond coin is equal to a 100 gold coins. One amethyst coin is exchanged for a 1000 diamond coins but they were very rarely used, only known to be owned by the royals.


    There is a royal family ruling the continent as they named their region the Starfall Kingdom, the continent due to this was also known as the Starfall Continent. They had a separate and the most powerful academy compared to the other 6 academies called the royal academy.


    Kai got 5 gold coins for the house which was a huge amount for him.


    Kai returned to his house after this and as it was already night when he came, he decided to directly go to sleep. He had to rest after everything that happened today.


    The next morning, “Hey Kai, you little brat, get the hell out of there.” Kai heard some shouts which woke him up. He went outside to look what was going on.


    As he opened the door, he found a middle-aged man, with James behind him both looking at him with hateful eyes. He had already guessed what they have come here for. The man was James’s father, Anthony.


    “You finally showed yourself brat, kneel and apologies this instant to my son for sneak attacking him and I might just not beat you up very badly.” Anthony ordered Kai, James behind him had a smug look on his face as if saying, ‘This is what you get for messing with me.’


    There was already a crowd gathered looking what was going on, these people only wanted fun and nothing else. Besides, Anthony was the head of a big family in the city no one dared to mess with him.


    “I never attacked your son, it was he who insulted me and then attacked me. What I did was only self-defense.” Kai tried explaining although he knew this won’t matter. He couldn’t fight Anthony who was already at the Advancement Stage, a major realm above James.


    “A trash like you deserves to be insulted, what would he do if not insult you?” Anthony shouted in response.


    Kai shook his head as he said internally ‘like father, like son.’ He already knew he was about to be beaten up as he was not going to apologize for something he didn’t do no matter what. He just stood there and prepared himself for a fight as he took a defensive stance, even if he knew he can’t win he can’t just let himself be beaten.


    “Looks like you really need to be taught a lesson, very well.” Anthony said before just like James, he lunged towards Kai.


    Just as he was about to punch Kai’s chest, he felt his attack being blocked. His eyes widened and he retreated. In front of him was a beautiful and charming lady looking at him furiously.


    “How dare you try to harm a member of our Moonlight Academy, the audacity” The lady shouted, the lady was undoubtedly Jane. Kai felt relieved after seeing her and heaved a sigh of relief. Meanwhile Anthony was even more enraged, but he calmed himself down, he couldn’t afford to mess with the Moonlight Academy.

    “You are telling me this trash is from the Moonlight Academy, if you really want to protect him just say so, why lie so blatantly in front of everyone here.” Anthony told Jane.


    “If you call him trash one more time, I will beat you up throw you in the trash myself. So shut your mouth and leave before I lose my patience.” Jane warned.


    “Hmph, even if I don’t beat him, he is bound to always remain lowly wherever he goes and will naturally get himself killed.” He then turned around and gestured everyone to leave. James was not satisfied with the result but he still left reluctantly, although not before telling Kai that the next time they meet will be the time he will lose his life.


    One thing to notice is that neither Anthony nor James called Kai ‘trash’ again.


    After they left and the crowd cleared Jane turned towards Kai and gave him a long look. She had noticed how he took a defensive stance and was ready to fight.


    “You really have to grow strong fast, one thing that bastard said correct was that if you remain weak you will always be bullied by these kinds of people wherever you go. You were lucky that I was passing by here, otherwise things would have turned out differently. Work hard and grow strong.” She told him and vanished, without waiting for a response from him.


    Kai could only say thank you to the area she was in before he went inside his house again.


    He didn’t feel dejected, he only felt more motivated to grow stronger after all this.


    He packed up everything he would need in a bag. Took some time looking at different places in the house. Although, he couldn’t remember his parents but he still had a familial connection with the place, he has been living here all his life after all. After rechecking he had everything, he slept early that day.


    The next day, he woke up an hour before sunrise. He readied himself and went outside the house, after exiting he looked at the house for a few minutes before leaving. This was the start of his new journey.


    He went towards the city gate he was still half-a-hour early, and only 6 other people were there talking with each other. Kai ignored them and stood in a place not to far from the group.


    The group mocked Kai a bit before continuing to talk with each other.


    After ten minutes Allura arrived and went straight to Kai. They started chatting and laughing with each other.


    The other men seeing this were enraged but just when a man was about to step forward. Jane appeared in front of everyone out of nowhere, which halted the man.


    Everyone greeted her. After waiting for another ten minutes all 20 people were here. The Sun was almost visible.


    Jane then spread her hands and started chanting strange words while moving her hands in the air. None of this made any sense to the people present here.


    She then suddenly stopped.


    Ten large circles appeared on top of her and started glowing brightly as ten large majestic beasts came out of them. Each beast was of a different colour, their body covered in beautiful scales, they had large wings with a long horn on their head.


    “Oh my heavens, look, real wyverns.” A girl from the group gasped.


    Everyone started talking about the mythical creatures in front of them.


    “Yes, they are indeed wyverns. When you grow stronger you will also be able to summon them, what I did right now was create a summoning circle and summon the beasts I have a contract with.” Jane said proudly puffing her chest a little with both eyes closed and her head held high.


    Everyone looked at her in awe and admiration. Jane opened one eye and looked at the result with satisfaction and nodded.


    “Alright, now pair up with another person.” Everyone did as they were told. Kai and Allura paired up together.


    “The wyverns are proud creature they will choose who they want them to ride, each wyvern will carry two people who are paired up.” Everyone felt a little nervous about not being chosen. Jane as if knowing this already smiled, “Don’t worry everyone will still get to ride them even if they are not chosen.” She couldn’t help but take a glance at Kai.


    Everyone did the same they didn’t feel like Kai would be chosen by any wyvern.


    “Miss Allura, you should join me, you shouldn’t waste this chance of riding a wyvern for a fool like him.” A young man named Henry offered Allura.


    The lady paired with Henry looked at him with disgust about how easily he ditched her.


    “I appreciate your offer but I can make my own decisions, you don’t have to tell me what I should do. Please look after yourself first.” She glanced at the lady who was paired with him and just like her she also felt disgust towards him, so did the other girls in the group. Allura had no plans to befriend someone like him.


    Henry instantly became the most hated person there.


    Henry looked around him and was incensed, he then shifted his gaze from Allura, “Hmph, I was only saying it for your own good, do whatever you wish.”


    Henry then stared at Kai and declared pointing at him “If he gets chosen by any wyvern, I swear to change my name to trash.” He said those words and returned to the girl he left previously. To his surprise in place of her there stood a man who he was friends with.


    The man furiously told Henry that the girl he was paired with left him when he told her he was friends with Henry. Both the ladies who partners of the men paired up with each other instead, this further angered Henry as he looked at Kai with killing intent. ‘All this is his fault’ he said internally.


    Jane was merely enjoying the show, when it ended, she nodded at the wyverns.


    What transpired next shocked not only the people in the group it even shocked Jane and the passerby’s that saw this. Everyone froze looking at the scene.


    All ten wyverns walked towards Kai and Allura and lowered their head, as if they were standing in the presence of a ruler.


    Kai and Allura were both naturally startled by this.


    Jane looked at all this with a profound look. ‘Wyverns are naturally attracted to higher talents, Kai is talentless so it couldn’t be him while Allura’s talent is the same as mine they never acted this way towards me after all these years, hell they didn’t even do this in the presence of the headmaster, why now?’ she pondered inwardly.


    She even felt her contract with the beasts loosening a little which greatly alarmed her.


    “Umm senior Jane, what should we do?” Kai asked her nervously.


    Jane snapped out her daze, and she couldn’t believe she was saying this to a powerless student who hasn’t even started learning anything “You can pick any wyvern you want, since they all want to be your ride just pick one.”


    The other’s looked at the duo with envy, they all wanted to be in their position, they then glanced at Henry.


    Henry panicked because of the promise he made, he quickly defended himself “Miss Allura’s talent is really unfathomable.” He praised with a wry smile


    “This was all her doing that trash had nothing to do with it they were all attracted to Miss Allura, and not him.” No one doubted his words they all knew what he said was the truth.


    “If you still don’t believe me then he should walk away from her and see if the wyverns follow him, yes, that’s what he should do.” He announced.


    Everyone knew that Henry just wanted to humiliate Kai.


    “Enough, I have allowed you to play your little game for quite some time” Jane said in a cold voice, she then turned to look at Kai and Allura. “Just choose the wyvern already how long are you going to be frozen in place there.”


    Allura glanced at Kai and seeing him nod she looked in front of him at the wyvern in the very front, he had majestic shining blue scales and wings, while his eyes and horn were golden in colour. He was no doubt the most beautiful and powerful wyvern here.


    Allura smiled and approached the giant beast and patted his head lovingly and said in a soft tone “Please take care of us.” The wyvern roared lightly before raising his head and looking at Kai.


    Kai’s body shook when the beast looked at him, but he also summed up his courage and said “Please look after us.” The dragon looked above and let out a loud roar alarming everyone in the city.


    He then sat on the ground and positioned his tail as if it was a staircase and lowered his head again waiting for them to climb.


    Kai and Allura looked at each other nervously before nodding, it could be seen how hesitant they were. They slowly climbed onto the wyverns back with Kai riding in front and Allura sitting behind him holding onto him tightly.


    Kai blushed a little at this feeling of how soft she was…. Aa-aa…. I mean how close she was.


    The other men couldn’t hold their rage any longer and punched the nearest object to take out their anger after seeing Kai’s devil’s luck.


    Allura then finally realized what she was doing and moved a back a little, lowered her head and blushed as well.


    After some time, she expressed her gratitude towards the other wyverns for choosing them, Kai did the same. Knowing they weren’t chosen it could visibly be seen how sad the wyverns were, but they still went ahead and chose the others.


    Henry and his friend were the last to be chosen. Henry’s friend climbed the wyvern but when Henry started climbing, the beast shook his tail and threw Henry away. Making him slam onto the ground.


    Henry was stunned at this, even a Bronze-grade pair got chosen not even including Kai, so, why is he- a Silver-grade being refused.


    Jane looked at the wyvern with an odd expression. She beckoned the wyvern to let him ride but as if the wyvern understood her words he shook his head. He outright refused her master.


    At this point even Jane lost her normal cheerful composure, she has never been refused by a beast that has formed a contract with him, what is even happening right now? She wondered.


    “*Sigh* You can come and ride on my wyvern, I don’t see another option.” She said as she tapped the necklace on her neck.


    Another wyvern who was twice the size of the wyverns present here magically appeared out of the necklace. This wyvern had shiny red scales and wings, emerald eyes and an emerald horn. He stood there like a ruler of all wyverns.


    Henry was elated after hearing her and seeing the wyvern. He gave the wyvern that refused him a mocking look.


    The wyvern nodded at Jane, and she nodded back. “She is my partner in battle, Alice.” Everyone looked at Alice who was even more majestic than these wyverns.


    Alice gazed at everyone present, her gaze stopped at Kai and Allura. She lowered her head a little as she looked at them, this now completely made Jane go crazy, she couldn’t understand a thing that was happening, Alice was as strong as she was, so this doesn’t make any sense.


    The wyvern that was chosen by Kai and Allura lowered his head and as if trying to tell her something it roared a few times.


    Jane noticed this and when she looked at Alice her eyes widened showing disbelief. Alice was oozing an immense amount of bloodlust and killing intent at Henry, who was shaking non-stop from the stares he was getting from the wyverns, he felt that if Jane wasn’t here, he would have already died a couple times.


    Jane gave up on thinking about this situation to her future self as she shook her head and said, “Henry I am sorry to say this, I don’t know what you did to my wyverns, even Alice, but they hate you to the core. You won’t be travelling with us.”


    She then threw a pouch at him. “This has enough money to get you to the Moonlight Academy, it should be a one-week journey on a normal horse. I don’t know what’s happening either, but I know even you realize it''s best for you not to travel with these beasts. I can’t always guarantee your safety, it’s not like they are my slaves, we all are companions.” She truly had a headache at this moment.


    Meanwhile Henry was on the verge of crying, he didn’t even have a say in everything going on.


    Everyone looked at him with pity.


    Jane then signaled all the wyverns to start the journey as Alice first flew into the air with unimaginable speed. All the wyverns flew straight up following Alice, as screams echoed everywhere. Allura was holding Kai extremely tightly while screaming, Kai was no better he didn’t scream but he didn’t notice Allura much as well, he was composing himself at this moment.


    None of them were able to see their surrounding properly due to the speed at which they were going.


    Henry looked at all this with tears finally falling down his face, he didn’t even know what he did wrong.
