《Summoner of The Lost Arts》 The Assessment [Assessing Compatibility with The Host¡.] [Host is Found Compatible] [Host Chosen] A young man seemingly in his sleep slowly opens his eyes. ¡°What a weird dream.¡± He stretches his hand before excitedly getting off the bed and glances at the clock. ¡°Damn it I am late!¡± quickly getting himself ready for the day. Today was the annual selection which is conducted under the supervision of the six strongest academies in the continent, held to select and nurture children with good talents who had just turned 16-years-old. He left his house in a hurry without saying any words and headed straight to the central plaza where the selection was scheduled to be held. The area was filled with hundreds of people, mostly with people his age and their parents. When he arrived, he found the event has already begun. The area wasn¡¯t too large as the city he lives in is considered a very small city. A little over a hundred or so chairs were arranged on either side of a not too large, paved platform, the platform currently had an elderly man and a young lady standing on it, in his hand was a transparent orb which shun bright with a majestic golden glow before turning transparent again. ¡°Allura¡., G-Gold-grade talent!¡± the elderly man announced to everyone watching while stammering a little, surprise evident in his voice. The young lady could be seen standing in front of the orb, a big smile appeared on her face as she heard the man. ¡°Woah a Gold-grade talent that hasn¡¯t appeared in our city for almost a decade.¡± A woman from the spectating area commented. ¡°Look at her she is not only extremely beautiful but also talented the other ladies watching must be envious.¡± A man shouted. ¡°Hahaha finally our city has a produced a good talent, now we won¡¯t be looked down by others.¡± A man said while laughing out loudly. Everyone in the crowd were chatting about the beauty and even the participants were no different. ¡°We of the Moonlight Academy would like to invite you to join us.¡± An elegant and stunningly beautiful lady who was sitting in front of the platform where the sitting arrangement for the representatives of the academies were made for, said with a slight smile. ¡°Join our Luminous Academy we are the best in the continent, you would gain the most from joining us.¡± A middle-aged man who was the representative of luminous academy spoke in an arrogant and proud tone, confident she would join them. The other four academies also invited the young lady in hopes of her joining them. Without thinking even for a second she bowed slightly to the seniors before announcing confidently ¡°I appreciate the offers made by seniors but, I have always wanted to join the Moonlight academy because of their summoning arts, so I would like to join them.¡± The lady from the moonlight academy now wore a big smile on her face. ¡°You are welcome to join our ranks.¡± She was evidently joyous that she joined them, she then continued ¡°Take a seat for now we would talk after the end of the event.¡± Allura nodded and went in the spectator¡¯s area to take a seat. The representative from the Luminous Academy lost all interest at her as he said ¡°Fool, who would choose a weaker academy when they could join a stronger one.¡± ¡°Mike, I would advise you not to speak about our disciple or academy in such a way, don¡¯t look down us I say this for your own good.¡± The lady from the Moonlight Academy warned as she stared at Mike coldly. Mike shivered a little, but he hid it well, he then merely snorted at her before shifting his attention. The elderly man on the platform called the next person on the platform and this continued with the people getting offers from different academies. Some even got multiple offers. The young man who had arrived here and watching for a while, went to a certain area near the spectator¡¯s area, there an old man sat, writing the names of the participants. The young man went to him. ¡°Hello, I would like to register to be assessed as well.¡± The old man without taking a look at the youth said, ¡°State your name and age.¡± ¡°Kai, 16-year-old.¡± Kai replied The man noted his name, he told him to sit down and wait for when he is called. Kai thanked him and took a seat in the crowd. He came pretty late, so the event has almost reached its ending stage. ¡°Next, Kai.¡± He was called after waiting for fifteen minutes. Stolen content alert: this content belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences. He walked towards the platform nervously. As he was walking towards the platform everyone sucked a mouthful of cold air, the man before them was the most handsome person they have ever seen. The representatives were no different. ¡°Wow so handsome, if he also gets a Gold-grade talent, then there wouldn¡¯t be a girl who wouldn¡¯t find him appealing.¡± A woman in the crowd commented. The other women around her all nodded in agreement. He stood in front of the old man as he stared at the orb in his hand. ¡°Don¡¯t worry so much, place your hand on it and relax¡± The old man advised. Kai nodded as he took a deep breath and placed his hands on the orb. After everyone waited for a minute, nothing happened. The old man a little confused said ¡°Remove your hands and place it again.¡± The old man told Kai. Kai did as he was told and after waiting for another minute, nothing happened. The expression of the old man turned sour. After waiting for some more seconds what he announced made Kai¡¯s body freeze stiff and his heart clenched. ¡°Kai, no talent¡± he announced with an apologetic tone as he looked at the youth in front of him with an empathetic look. The representatives and the crowd were no different, they knew that although extremely rare, there had been cases of people who didn¡¯t have any talent. ¡°Such a shame, if he had a good grade his life would be set. Looks like the heaven¡¯s don¡¯t always favor beautiful people.¡± A woman commented as she glanced at Allura. All the other people from the crowd also started talking. The grades of the talent were represented by the light that would glow inside the orb, there were 5 known grades, from lowest to highest they were- Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond and the legendary Amethyst-grade. Only the headmasters of the 6 academies were known to have Diamond-grade talents, while the Amethyst-grade was considered a myth since it has not appeared for centuries in their continent. Usually, it is enough to have a Bronze-grade talent for entering a academy, meanwhile having a Silver-grade was considered good and the Gold-grade people were considered geniuses coveted by every academy. Although there were still plenty of Gold-grade talent people around it was still pretty rare. Kai stared at the orb before looking at the old man, his entire body was shaking and his eyes showed disbelief and doubt. Everyone in the crowd were silent and looked at the youth with pity, shaking their heads. While some were gossiping silently. Allura was no different, she had a frown on her face as she watched everything, she didn¡¯t like how things turned out for the young man. ¡°Stop wasting our time, you have already wasted enough of our time, now get off the platform, no academy wants a talentless trash.¡± Mike was the one who broke the silence, he was still irritated that he couldn¡¯t get Allura to join them, so he decided to take it out on him. He could care less about his feelings. The people in the crowd and the other representatives frowned deeply upon hearing this. Mike had done a lowly thing, kicking the youth at his lowest point. His words further shook Kai as he shivered and took small steps forward with his head down, almost stumbling in the process. He had the urge to cry but he held back knowing this won¡¯t help him and only make him look even more pathetic. Just as he was about to leave the platform, he heard a strange voice in his head for a split second, but he just thought he has started hearing things since it came from within his head. Then he heard another voice that didn¡¯t come from his head making him halt. ¡°I have an offer for you¡.¡± The voice then continued ¡°Although you don¡¯t have a talent for learning the mythical arts it doesn¡¯t mean that it is impossible, it only means that it would be extremely difficult for you to learn it.¡± ¡°I can¡¯t accept you as a disciple but if you are willing you can start as a servant in our academy, if you gain enough contributions, you can spend them to study the mythical arts. What do you think?¡± The person who spoke these words was the lady who represented the Moonlight Academy. The other academies were shocked after hearing this, they didn¡¯t think the Moonlight Academy would take in such a talentless person. ¡°Hahahaha good, good came to become a disciple and reduced to a mere servant, befitting of a talentless fool.¡± Mike laughed out loud, mocking Kai. Kai lifted his head and when he looked in front of him, he screamed loudly as he fell back on the ground. This made some people from the crowd laugh and chuckle harder, along with some representatives as well. The lady merely furrowed her eyebrows not understanding why he would scream and act this way. Kai looked in front of him for a few seconds before standing up and after composing himself he said while bowing ¡°I appreciate your offer senior, and I accept your terms. Please look after me.¡± The lady smiled and nodded a little. ¡°Take a seat, we will talk after the event is over.¡± Kai nodded and walked off to take a seat. Afterwards everyone went back to normal and then the next person was called. When the youth placed his hand on the orb a scene occurred which shocked everyone present, including the old man and the representatives. The orb shattered into thousands of pieces right in front of them. This has never occurred in the event. The old man and the youth being assessed didn¡¯t know what to do. ¡°Just bring another orb it must have gone rusty after all these years of usage. No need to panic.¡± One of the representatives announced. The old man nodded before sending someone to get another orb. After a few minutes another orb was brought. The youth was assessed again, and he had a Silver-grade talent, which implied that the orb was indeed faulty. The lady from the moonlight faction looked at the shattered orb before glancing at Kai who still had a dejected look on his face seemingly lost in thought, completely unaware of the commotion going on. She then shook her head and continued with the event. The event ended after one more hour without any more accidents occurring. Then all the people chosen by their respective academies were called. ¡°Hey, can we go together?¡± Kai heard a voice beside him, as he lifted his head to look, he found a beautiful young lady looking at him while avoiding eye contact and with a shy expression on her face. It was none other than Allura. Kai nodded and then walked with her towards the lady from the Moonlight Academy. The other men seeing this couldn¡¯t help but feel envious of his luck. ¡°Why does the trash get to walk together with her, a genius?¡± A man complained. ¡°Hmph, he doesn¡¯t know his place yet if I ever find him in the future I would show him his place.¡± Another man commented angrily. The other men were not that different. Kai and Allura quickly found the lady, there were only 15 people standing in the group in front of the lady. The duo quickly joined the group as they waited for the others to arrive. Once everyone was there, which was not much, only 20 people were selected by the lady, Kai included, which was very low compared to the other academies who would choose around 50 people. The lady began to give them a briefing of everything that would happen now. She first introduced herself, her name was Jane, she had a way to detect people who had an affinity for summoning magic explaining the reason for the small amount of people, what surprised Kai was that she could even detect this from Kai, explaining why she chose him. Kai felt a bit better knowing the lady was not just showing pity to him. They were given a week before they were to departure to the Academy which would be a two days journey. They were ordered to meet at the city gate in two days at sunrise, anyone who would be absent would be left behind. They were then dismissed. Kai and Allura walked away together while chatting on their way. During their conversation Kai found out more about Allura, apparently although she was so beautiful she didn¡¯t have any friends due to other jealous girls bullying her every time and the boys always looking at her indecently. This made her quite shy and afraid of talking to others. She thought now that she is about to step into a new phase of her life, she determined herself to make lots of friends. Kai was the first she tried to befriend, which Kai happily accepted. She didn¡¯t feel like Kai had wrong intentions, which she confirmed during their conversation with how politely he spoke to her. She actually felt quite comfortable and relaxed talking with him. They spoke with each other for some more time before parting ways getting ready to leave the city in two ways. As Kai walked towards his house, some people around him looked at him with pity and shook their head while some mocked him of being a trash. The news about him being talentless had already spready throughout the city. Kai did not let their words affect him, he knew he is going to have a hard life ahead, but he still had hope. There was also something else that was bugging him for the entire time. He entered his house, he lived alone in the house. The house was not very big, but it was extremely big for a single person to be living in it. Kai¡¯s parents died when he was 10 years old, and he did not seem to have any memory of them. He had been living these 6 years on the money left behind by his parents. In this time, he solely focused on training his physical body to its limits as this was the only thing that can make him strong. He waited for this very day as this was when his talents would be assessed, this was his plan for his life which was almost crushed in a few hours. He had already decided to sell the house and take the money with him to what he would like to call his new home. But all this was for a later time, he has something more important to figure out right now. Kai sat on a chair before closing his eyes. A familiar sound resounded in his head. It was the same sound he heard and deemed to the result of him going crazy during the assessment. Kai opened his eyes and stared in front of him, there he saw the actual reason for him screaming and falling down once again. [Talent Grade Assessing] [Talent Grade: Error¡.] [Reassessing¡.] [Talent Grade: Error¡.] [Talent Grade is unable to be assessed] Leaving The City ¡°What the hell is this thing? It¡¯s literally mocking me for not having a talent.¡± He looked at the letters written in a strange light blue background screen that appeared in front of him out of thin air, he felt infuriated. He decided to leave it since he did not want to get more irritated than he already was. Like how could he not be irritated? the people he could understand, but even this strange thing that came out of nowhere is mocking him! There were still a few hours before night-time , so he decided to go to the person¡¯s house he made a deal with for selling his house. As he walked there, he could feel the unpleasant gazes of everyone that saw him. He felt very uncomfortable. ¡°Hey, you trash! Stop right there!¡± A bulky young man pointed at Kai as he shouted with a grin on his face. Kai continued walking without giving any notice to the man. This made the man¡¯s face turn a little red due to how openly he ignored and embarrassed him with so many people around watching. He stood up and walked in front of Kai blocking his path with five more people that were standing behind him. Each with a smug smile. ¡°May I help you with something James?¡± Kai questioned staring straight into James eyes. James used to be the few people who he had talked with while being in the city, although they weren¡¯t friends the weren¡¯t enemies either. The bulky man named James snorted at this. ¡°How dare you ignore me when I called you?¡± ¡°You called me?¡± Kai questioned raising an eyebrow. ¡°Are you not only a trash but also deaf? I called you trash there are no other trash here other than you so I obviously called you.¡± James roared. ¡°Huh, now I am even confused I can see one right in front me.¡± Kai pointed his finger at James. ¡°I thought you just liked talking to yourself so I ignored it.¡± He continued. James¡¯s face turned even redder now with immense anger as he lunged to attack Kai. Kai swiftly moved to the side and dodged the attack effortlessly before kicking James¡¯s left knee making him fall head first into the ground. He then kicked his stomach making him roll onto the ground and falling unconscious. This shocked everyone by how easily he defeated James who has already started learning the mythical arts and was already at the 2nd Foundation Stage. One has to know that even if Kai didn¡¯t have any talent, he has not been sitting around all these years wasting his time, he has dedicated 6 years- training his body and learning from various people while sparring. He has even fought people in the late stages of the Foundation Stage. He could be said to be one of the strongest person who hasn¡¯t started learning the arts. The five people who didn¡¯t even start learning the arts who were with James were scared witless of what to do. To their surprise Kai just glanced at them for a moment before walking away towards his destination, leaving the unconscious body on the ground. Kai reached his destination. He talked with the buyer for an hour, he didn¡¯t have any trouble selling the house as the deal was already set priorly. After Kai would leave in two days the house will officially be theirs. He completed the paperwork and got pretty decent money for the house. The currency of the continent was identical to the talent grades with bronze coins being of the lowest value. The conversions were as followed- 1 silver coin is equal to a 100 bronze coins, 1 gold coin is equal to a 100 silver coins, and 1 diamond coin is equal to a 100 gold coins. One amethyst coin is exchanged for a 1000 diamond coins but they were very rarely used, only known to be owned by the royals. There is a royal family ruling the continent as they named their region the Starfall Kingdom, the continent due to this was also known as the Starfall Continent. They had a separate and the most powerful academy compared to the other 6 academies called the royal academy. Kai got 5 gold coins for the house which was a huge amount for him. Kai returned to his house after this and as it was already night when he came, he decided to directly go to sleep. He had to rest after everything that happened today. The next morning, ¡°Hey Kai, you little brat, get the hell out of there.¡± Kai heard some shouts which woke him up. He went outside to look what was going on. As he opened the door, he found a middle-aged man, with James behind him both looking at him with hateful eyes. He had already guessed what they have come here for. The man was James¡¯s father, Anthony. ¡°You finally showed yourself brat, kneel and apologies this instant to my son for sneak attacking him and I might just not beat you up very badly.¡± Anthony ordered Kai, James behind him had a smug look on his face as if saying, ¡®This is what you get for messing with me.¡¯ There was already a crowd gathered looking what was going on, these people only wanted fun and nothing else. Besides, Anthony was the head of a big family in the city no one dared to mess with him. ¡°I never attacked your son, it was he who insulted me and then attacked me. What I did was only self-defense.¡± Kai tried explaining although he knew this won¡¯t matter. He couldn¡¯t fight Anthony who was already at the Advancement Stage, a major realm above James. ¡°A trash like you deserves to be insulted, what would he do if not insult you?¡± Anthony shouted in response. Kai shook his head as he said internally ¡®like father, like son.¡¯ He already knew he was about to be beaten up as he was not going to apologize for something he didn¡¯t do no matter what. He just stood there and prepared himself for a fight as he took a defensive stance, even if he knew he can¡¯t win he can¡¯t just let himself be beaten. ¡°Looks like you really need to be taught a lesson, very well.¡± Anthony said before just like James, he lunged towards Kai. Just as he was about to punch Kai¡¯s chest, he felt his attack being blocked. His eyes widened and he retreated. In front of him was a beautiful and charming lady looking at him furiously. ¡°How dare you try to harm a member of our Moonlight Academy, the audacity¡± The lady shouted, the lady was undoubtedly Jane. Kai felt relieved after seeing her and heaved a sigh of relief. Meanwhile Anthony was even more enraged, but he calmed himself down, he couldn¡¯t afford to mess with the Moonlight Academy. Support the author by searching for the original publication of this novel. ¡°You are telling me this trash is from the Moonlight Academy, if you really want to protect him just say so, why lie so blatantly in front of everyone here.¡± Anthony told Jane. ¡°If you call him trash one more time, I will beat you up throw you in the trash myself. So shut your mouth and leave before I lose my patience.¡± Jane warned. ¡°Hmph, even if I don¡¯t beat him, he is bound to always remain lowly wherever he goes and will naturally get himself killed.¡± He then turned around and gestured everyone to leave. James was not satisfied with the result but he still left reluctantly, although not before telling Kai that the next time they meet will be the time he will lose his life. One thing to notice is that neither Anthony nor James called Kai ¡®trash¡¯ again. After they left and the crowd cleared Jane turned towards Kai and gave him a long look. She had noticed how he took a defensive stance and was ready to fight. ¡°You really have to grow strong fast, one thing that bastard said correct was that if you remain weak you will always be bullied by these kinds of people wherever you go. You were lucky that I was passing by here, otherwise things would have turned out differently. Work hard and grow strong.¡± She told him and vanished, without waiting for a response from him. Kai could only say thank you to the area she was in before he went inside his house again. He didn¡¯t feel dejected, he only felt more motivated to grow stronger after all this. He packed up everything he would need in a bag. Took some time looking at different places in the house. Although, he couldn¡¯t remember his parents but he still had a familial connection with the place, he has been living here all his life after all. After rechecking he had everything, he slept early that day. The next day, he woke up an hour before sunrise. He readied himself and went outside the house, after exiting he looked at the house for a few minutes before leaving. This was the start of his new journey. He went towards the city gate he was still half-a-hour early, and only 6 other people were there talking with each other. Kai ignored them and stood in a place not to far from the group. The group mocked Kai a bit before continuing to talk with each other. After ten minutes Allura arrived and went straight to Kai. They started chatting and laughing with each other. The other men seeing this were enraged but just when a man was about to step forward. Jane appeared in front of everyone out of nowhere, which halted the man. Everyone greeted her. After waiting for another ten minutes all 20 people were here. The Sun was almost visible. Jane then spread her hands and started chanting strange words while moving her hands in the air. None of this made any sense to the people present here. She then suddenly stopped. Ten large circles appeared on top of her and started glowing brightly as ten large majestic beasts came out of them. Each beast was of a different colour, their body covered in beautiful scales, they had large wings with a long horn on their head. ¡°Oh my heavens, look, real wyverns.¡± A girl from the group gasped. Everyone started talking about the mythical creatures in front of them. ¡°Yes, they are indeed wyverns. When you grow stronger you will also be able to summon them, what I did right now was create a summoning circle and summon the beasts I have a contract with.¡± Jane said proudly puffing her chest a little with both eyes closed and her head held high. Everyone looked at her in awe and admiration. Jane opened one eye and looked at the result with satisfaction and nodded. ¡°Alright, now pair up with another person.¡± Everyone did as they were told. Kai and Allura paired up together. ¡°The wyverns are proud creature they will choose who they want them to ride, each wyvern will carry two people who are paired up.¡± Everyone felt a little nervous about not being chosen. Jane as if knowing this already smiled, ¡°Don¡¯t worry everyone will still get to ride them even if they are not chosen.¡± She couldn¡¯t help but take a glance at Kai. Everyone did the same they didn¡¯t feel like Kai would be chosen by any wyvern. ¡°Miss Allura, you should join me, you shouldn¡¯t waste this chance of riding a wyvern for a fool like him.¡± A young man named Henry offered Allura. The lady paired with Henry looked at him with disgust about how easily he ditched her. ¡°I appreciate your offer but I can make my own decisions, you don¡¯t have to tell me what I should do. Please look after yourself first.¡± She glanced at the lady who was paired with him and just like her she also felt disgust towards him, so did the other girls in the group. Allura had no plans to befriend someone like him. Henry instantly became the most hated person there. Henry looked around him and was incensed, he then shifted his gaze from Allura, ¡°Hmph, I was only saying it for your own good, do whatever you wish.¡± Henry then stared at Kai and declared pointing at him ¡°If he gets chosen by any wyvern, I swear to change my name to trash.¡± He said those words and returned to the girl he left previously. To his surprise in place of her there stood a man who he was friends with. The man furiously told Henry that the girl he was paired with left him when he told her he was friends with Henry. Both the ladies who partners of the men paired up with each other instead, this further angered Henry as he looked at Kai with killing intent. ¡®All this is his fault¡¯ he said internally. Jane was merely enjoying the show, when it ended, she nodded at the wyverns. What transpired next shocked not only the people in the group it even shocked Jane and the passerby¡¯s that saw this. Everyone froze looking at the scene. All ten wyverns walked towards Kai and Allura and lowered their head, as if they were standing in the presence of a ruler. Kai and Allura were both naturally startled by this. Jane looked at all this with a profound look. ¡®Wyverns are naturally attracted to higher talents, Kai is talentless so it couldn¡¯t be him while Allura¡¯s talent is the same as mine they never acted this way towards me after all these years, hell they didn¡¯t even do this in the presence of the headmaster, why now?¡¯ she pondered inwardly. She even felt her contract with the beasts loosening a little which greatly alarmed her. ¡°Umm senior Jane, what should we do?¡± Kai asked her nervously. Jane snapped out her daze, and she couldn¡¯t believe she was saying this to a powerless student who hasn¡¯t even started learning anything ¡°You can pick any wyvern you want, since they all want to be your ride just pick one.¡± The other¡¯s looked at the duo with envy, they all wanted to be in their position, they then glanced at Henry. Henry panicked because of the promise he made, he quickly defended himself ¡°Miss Allura¡¯s talent is really unfathomable.¡± He praised with a wry smile ¡°This was all her doing that trash had nothing to do with it they were all attracted to Miss Allura, and not him.¡± No one doubted his words they all knew what he said was the truth. ¡°If you still don¡¯t believe me then he should walk away from her and see if the wyverns follow him, yes, that¡¯s what he should do.¡± He announced. Everyone knew that Henry just wanted to humiliate Kai. ¡°Enough, I have allowed you to play your little game for quite some time¡± Jane said in a cold voice, she then turned to look at Kai and Allura. ¡°Just choose the wyvern already how long are you going to be frozen in place there.¡± Allura glanced at Kai and seeing him nod she looked in front of him at the wyvern in the very front, he had majestic shining blue scales and wings, while his eyes and horn were golden in colour. He was no doubt the most beautiful and powerful wyvern here. Allura smiled and approached the giant beast and patted his head lovingly and said in a soft tone ¡°Please take care of us.¡± The wyvern roared lightly before raising his head and looking at Kai. Kai¡¯s body shook when the beast looked at him, but he also summed up his courage and said ¡°Please look after us.¡± The dragon looked above and let out a loud roar alarming everyone in the city. He then sat on the ground and positioned his tail as if it was a staircase and lowered his head again waiting for them to climb. Kai and Allura looked at each other nervously before nodding, it could be seen how hesitant they were. They slowly climbed onto the wyverns back with Kai riding in front and Allura sitting behind him holding onto him tightly. Kai blushed a little at this feeling of how soft she was¡. Aa-aa¡. I mean how close she was. The other men couldn¡¯t hold their rage any longer and punched the nearest object to take out their anger after seeing Kai¡¯s devil¡¯s luck. Allura then finally realized what she was doing and moved a back a little, lowered her head and blushed as well. After some time, she expressed her gratitude towards the other wyverns for choosing them, Kai did the same. Knowing they weren¡¯t chosen it could visibly be seen how sad the wyverns were, but they still went ahead and chose the others. Henry and his friend were the last to be chosen. Henry¡¯s friend climbed the wyvern but when Henry started climbing, the beast shook his tail and threw Henry away. Making him slam onto the ground. Henry was stunned at this, even a Bronze-grade pair got chosen not even including Kai, so, why is he- a Silver-grade being refused. Jane looked at the wyvern with an odd expression. She beckoned the wyvern to let him ride but as if the wyvern understood her words he shook his head. He outright refused her master. At this point even Jane lost her normal cheerful composure, she has never been refused by a beast that has formed a contract with him, what is even happening right now? She wondered. ¡°*Sigh* You can come and ride on my wyvern, I don¡¯t see another option.¡± She said as she tapped the necklace on her neck. Another wyvern who was twice the size of the wyverns present here magically appeared out of the necklace. This wyvern had shiny red scales and wings, emerald eyes and an emerald horn. He stood there like a ruler of all wyverns. Henry was elated after hearing her and seeing the wyvern. He gave the wyvern that refused him a mocking look. The wyvern nodded at Jane, and she nodded back. ¡°She is my partner in battle, Alice.¡± Everyone looked at Alice who was even more majestic than these wyverns. Alice gazed at everyone present, her gaze stopped at Kai and Allura. She lowered her head a little as she looked at them, this now completely made Jane go crazy, she couldn¡¯t understand a thing that was happening, Alice was as strong as she was, so this doesn¡¯t make any sense. The wyvern that was chosen by Kai and Allura lowered his head and as if trying to tell her something it roared a few times. Jane noticed this and when she looked at Alice her eyes widened showing disbelief. Alice was oozing an immense amount of bloodlust and killing intent at Henry, who was shaking non-stop from the stares he was getting from the wyverns, he felt that if Jane wasn¡¯t here, he would have already died a couple times. Jane gave up on thinking about this situation to her future self as she shook her head and said, ¡°Henry I am sorry to say this, I don¡¯t know what you did to my wyverns, even Alice, but they hate you to the core. You won¡¯t be travelling with us.¡± She then threw a pouch at him. ¡°This has enough money to get you to the Moonlight Academy, it should be a one-week journey on a normal horse. I don¡¯t know what¡¯s happening either, but I know even you realize it''s best for you not to travel with these beasts. I can¡¯t always guarantee your safety, it¡¯s not like they are my slaves, we all are companions.¡± She truly had a headache at this moment. Meanwhile Henry was on the verge of crying, he didn¡¯t even have a say in everything going on. Everyone looked at him with pity. Jane then signaled all the wyverns to start the journey as Alice first flew into the air with unimaginable speed. All the wyverns flew straight up following Alice, as screams echoed everywhere. Allura was holding Kai extremely tightly while screaming, Kai was no better he didn¡¯t scream but he didn¡¯t notice Allura much as well, he was composing himself at this moment. None of them were able to see their surrounding properly due to the speed at which they were going. Henry looked at all this with tears finally falling down his face, he didn¡¯t even know what he did wrong. Moonlight Academy As they moved further away from the city many people started screaming at Jane, pleading to her to slow down the wyverns. Jane chuckled when she heard them but she did not act immediately. Only after all 20 of them were asking for help did she slow down the wyverns. ¡®She is clearly enjoying this.¡¯ Everyone had the same exact thought in mind. Jane laughed merrily when she looked at their faces. She had completely forgotten about the wyvern issue from before. On their way she told them many things about the academy and the Starfall Kingdom. Apparently, the academies could be seen as a defense barrier built by the kingdom. The Starfall Continent was covered by mountains that reached the clouds on the western and southern sides making it almost impossible to pass through, the eastern side is a coastal region and the northern side is connected by land to another kingdom. Two academies each look after a region jointly explaining why there were 6 academies. While the northern side was managed by the Royal Academy and the kingdom. Although the kingdom is located in the center of the continent, they would regularly send out people to the northern region to make up the difference. They also got to know that the Moonlight Academy was the one in charge of half of the coast line along with the Luminous Academy who controlled the other half. These two academies were considered the top two academies in the continent after the Royal Academy. Everyone couldn¡¯t help but think and admire how well thought and managed everything looked in their continent. They knew all this was only on the outside and there must be problems everywhere, but they still felt it was well managed. They were also very happy and proud to know that they were part of such a strong Academy. Their plan for the journey was to reach a city with a teleportation circle and head straight to the academy through it. They took breaks in many cities every couple of hours. Jane fed the group many delicacies from the regions they passed. When everyone thanked her, a devilish smile appeared on her face as she told them all this is not for free and she would make everyone work to the bone to repay her. When everyone heard this, they stopped eating for a moment and could already see themselves going through hell. From the time they spent with Jane, they knew that she did what she said without any exceptions. Kai and Allura who were sitting beside each other just looked at each other and smiled wryly. 2 days later. ¡°Finally, we are in the city!¡± A handsome young man jumped down from the wyvern as he stretched himself. ¡°What a big city no wonder it has a teleportation circle.¡± A beautiful young lady said as she looked around the city. They were naturally Kai and Allura. Their group has finally reached the city that will teleport them to the academy. Jane took the group to the teleportation circle after sending the wyverns back into the circles they came from. She also called back Alice into the necklace. She showed the guard at the teleportation circle a badge in the shape of a half moon which was glowing majestically. The guard bowed to her and gestured for them to enter. Everyone followed Jane to the circle. Just as the circle was starting to glow Jane smiled and said, ¡°Aah, I forgot, just a friendly warning since this is your first time using the circle, you will definitely feel dizzy once you get out the other side and will 100% vomit no exceptions.¡± She then handed a cloth bag to each of them. ¡°Remember to vomit in that and not on the ground, if you do so you will have to clean it up yourself.¡± Everyone eyes widened with horror. ¡®This crazy woman¡¯ this was all they could think about before the light glowed to its peak and they were teleported. Jane has been pranking and tricking them since the beginning of the journey, many have already started planning that when they grow stronger how they will get their revenge. The next moment they were at another location, but none of them had time to worry about their surroundings. It was just as Jane said, all 20 people were stumbling here and there and just when they thought it was getting better. Their stomachs churned as they felt an uncontrollable urge to vomit. Since they weren¡¯t warned about this sooner many missed the bag given to them by Jane and vomited on the ground. Kai had good reflexes so he was about to put the bag in front his mouth but he saw Allura who was about to vomit on the floor. Without a second thought he placed his bag before Allura¡¯s mouth before turning around and doing the deed himself on the ground. Jane didn¡¯t even turn around, she looked at everyone, laughing so loudly that tears were forming in her eyes. At this point everyone in the group were already thinking of different ways of taking revenge for their continuous humiliations by her hand. After everyone settled down, the people who did the deed on the ground were already preparing to clean their mess when Jane stopped them when she stopped laughing. ¡°What? Do you all seriously want to clean it so badly, I mean if you want to do it so badly be my guest. The circle does have a built-in self-cleaning formation set up but why bother? Right? Right?¡± She then continued laughing when she looked at their faces again. ¡°Thank you, Kai, if not for you I would have been really embarrassed.¡± Allura said as she diverted eye contact with Kai, her face a little red. If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. ¡°It¡¯s alright no need to say thank you for every single thing between friends.¡± Kai smiled politely at her before saying. Allura nodded a little. After everything settled down and Jane was done laughing, they walked out of the circle as they looked in front of them, they found a large pure blue ocean with clear water, the air felt amazing and the sounds of the waves were very calming. Behind them were many guards, standing fully equipped with armor and weapons, they were standing on either side of a large gate, ready for anything, when they saw Jane, they relaxed and let the youths enter the gate. Jane explained that this was one of the many entrances to the academy and also that this was just the outer region and the place they would be going to was still an hour¡¯s journey away, she then added- ¡°With the top speeds of the wyverns that is.¡± She said this in a playful tone. At this point everyone here is done resisting her little games and just started playing along. After one hellish hour later, the youths appeared in a majestic room which was larger than Kai¡¯s entire house. The place was well furnished and excluded a soothing aura that stabilized their mood a little. ¡°I swear Jane, I always tell you to bring back children but you always bring back skeletons with you.¡± A middle-aged handsome man said before turning to look at the children who had pale expressions and looked as if they were already dead. They were elated when they found out there was someone who could relate to their pain, and possibly help them, they knew just by looking at the man that he must have a pretty high rank position in the Academy, at least they hoped so. ¡°Hmph, I was just bringing them along the normal way I always do, who knows how they turned out like this.¡± Jane defended. Everyone looked at her with hateful eyes. When they first saw her during the assessment, they couldn¡¯t be more deceived by her innocent appearance. The man chuckled a little before introducing himself ¡°Aah, where are my manners, let me introduce myself. My name is Lucas, you all can call me Big Brother Lucas. I am the headmaster of the Moonlight Academy.¡± He said with a big smile. Everyone was taken aback when they heard this man was the headmaster of the academy, his casual and friendly tone didn¡¯t make him seem like it. The hell with Big Brother Lucas, they couldn¡¯t even dream of calling him so casually. ¡°Are you really the headmaster?¡± One man among them couldn¡¯t help but ask. Lucas smiled at this. The very next moment the aura of the room changed from the soothing aura to a life-threatening aura, a glow could be seen in Lucas¡¯s eyes as a pressure befell everyone there. Everyone there fell to the ground, except Jane of course. ¡°Show off.¡± Jane commented before taking a seat beside the man. Everything only lasted for a few seconds before disappearing, but it felt like a few years have passed by already for them. They looked at the man, they didn¡¯t have any doubt now, the man before them was one of the 10 strongest people in the continent. Just when they were getting a little happy, their mood changed in a second when they heard Jane. ¡°Don¡¯t get your hopes up of getting rid of me, I am this childish man¡¯s wife, he may be the headmaster but I am stronger than him. So, I will make sure to get back everything you all got from me during the journey.¡± Jane stated proudly. ¡®I pity these children.¡¯ Lucas said internally with a sigh. He didn¡¯t dare to say this out loud in Jane¡¯s presence. No one doubted Jane¡¯s words they know Jane was not one who would boast. ¡°Why would such a powerful person like you come to our small city?¡± A lady from the group asked. They were all still on the floor completely exhausted from all the things they have experienced in these 2 days. ¡°I was bored.¡± That was all Jane said, everyone cursed their luck. They threw the thought of getting revenge on her out of their head. Lucas shook his head and passed a pill each, to the youths. After taking these, they felt all their exhaustion of 2 days disappear in a moment. ¡®What a miraculous item¡¯ Kai thought. Lucas then passed on 20 rings to the youth, one for each. ¡°These rings are called spatial rings, they have the ability to create a separate dimension and store things in it.¡± ¡°Each ring has a rule book, a map of the academy, your disciple clothes and a badge with all your information already in it, including where you will be staying. They are very easy to use so you won¡¯t have any problems. These are common and distributed to everyone so keep it.¡± Lucas explained. ¡°How did you create all this when we just arrived right now.¡± Kai asked. Lucas looked at Kai for a second before answering ¡°We have special communication methods to transmit long distance messages. They were all sent to me by Lane.¡± After answering a few more questions, they were dismissed. Lucas had Kai stay behind. Before leaving, Allura informed him that she would come find him after they settled, for which Kai only nodded. ¡°So, you are the one who didn¡¯t have any talent.¡± Lucas looked at Kai skeptical, Lane has already told him about the assessment and the wyvern incident so he wasn¡¯t sure of how to relate the two incidents, he didn¡¯t think the cause was Allura the reason for this was Alice. Alice wouldn¡¯t even lower her head for Lane or Lucas much less Allura. But believing it was the doing of Kai was even more unbelievable. Jane summoned the wyverns and Alice again and they had the same reaction from back then towards Kai. This confirmed that all this was Kai¡¯s doing. They were confused on how to deal with this. ¡°Well, no matter what, since you were taken in as a servant you will fulfil your duties. You will be told the specifics by an elder, you can leave for now.¡± Lucas said. Kai bowed to them before leaving. After leaving he wore the ring in his index finger and took out the badge which was just like Jane¡¯s but ten times smaller and didn¡¯t glow. It had his name imprinted in it. He noticed that unlike others he had a servant¡¯s uniform instead of a disciple¡¯s, he even had a different rule book from the rest, he put it away and took out the map. He studied the map for a while before heading towards the administration department. In the room he was previously at, ¡°Why did you not just let him become a disciple? Even with no talent he was able to make Alice lower her head there must be something about him that we don¡¯t know of.¡± Jane told Lucas who was in deep thought. ¡°I can let him become a disciple, but with no talent he will constantly be bullied and treated badly not only by the other disciples but also the teachers. If he doesn¡¯t prove his worth before becoming a disciple it would do him more harm than good.¡± Lucas explained. Lane nodded after pondering for a while. What Lucas said was correct and made sense. ¡°Besides isn¡¯t the transfer competition coming up. If he wins then he will get to become a disciple automatically while also showing his worth.¡± Lucas said with a mysterious smile. ¡°But he hasn¡¯t even started learning yet and the other servants are already at the middle to late stage of the Foundation Stage.¡± Lane said a little worried. ¡°If he is fated to become a disciple then he will, we can¡¯t show any favoritism to anyone in the academy.¡± Lucas sighed. He didn¡¯t miss the moment Lane showed worry but didn¡¯t comment on it. Kai entered the administration department and found the elder ¡®Big Brother Lucas¡¯ told him to go speak with, the elder¡¯s name was Keith and he had a really bad temper with fiery features. He quickly found an elder who matched this description. Kai approached him ¡°Hello, I was sent here by The Headmaster to speak with you about what I have to do here after becoming a servant.¡± Keith looked at him with anger, he was taking a break when he was suddenly disturbed. ¡°So, you are the talentless fool? Haven¡¯t seen one of your kind for a long time. The last one died quite miserably¡± He mocked Kai, trying to scare him. When he found that Kai didn¡¯t show any change in expression, he felt a little disappointed. He threw a paper at Kai. ¡°Do all that and leave me alone. Go back to your room and start working tomorrow.¡± Keith told him, irritation evident in his voice. Kai realized that if he said another word he would get in trouble, therefore he took the paper, bowed and thanked the elder before leaving. After he left, he sat down on a bench nearby and started reading the paper given to him by the elder. The paper contained information about his daily and weekly quotas that he needed to complete. If he failed to do so he would be punished accordingly. He read the daily quota that he would have to complete daily starting tomorrow and he couldn¡¯t help but worry when he looked at it. He then looked at the weekly quota which was totally different from the daily quota, and he was actually a little excited to start it. The daily quota made him bring 100 logs of wood, 100 herbs of a particular kind and 100 buckets of water from a forest half an hour away from the servant¡¯s compartment. He had to do this every day. While the weekly quota made him help out in each summoning, forging, pill refining, array creation and cultivation areas which were used by disciples. He would need to go there and ask if they needed any assistance like- needing any material or calling someone or basically anything. Although the Moonlight Academy was famous for summoning arts it didn¡¯t mean that other arts were not taught here. The academy was one of the top academies for a reason. He went to the servant compartment after this, half an hour later he could be seen lying on the bed in his room reading the rule book. His room was quite spacious which shocked him when he saw it. It had a bed an attached washroom and even a small kitchen, everything Kai could ask for. There were multiple buildings in the area where his room was, each containing ten to twenty such rooms. ¡°I will think about what to do next tomorrow.¡± Kai decided as he kept the book back in the ring and slept within seconds. The next morning, when he woke up and opened his eyes. ¡°AAAAAHHHHHH¡± he screamed at the top of his lungs. He fell down his bed in the process. Before him once again was that annoying screen that mocked him for his talentlessness. He took a deep breath as he got back on his feet and looked at the screen, totally annoyed. ¡°Has it come to mock me now that I have become a servant. I will let you know whoever you are beforehand that I don¡¯t plan on staying like this for long.¡± Kai warned the screen, but the screen showed no response. Kai cautiously took steps towards it and then read what was written on it.
