Chapter 568 Conversation In Reading Room (Part Two)
Jackson nodded,"Fine, okay. But start preparing as soon as you can."
Derek joked with Jackson,"I''m the one getting married and I''m not even worried. Why are you anxious
about my wedding?"
Jackson ignored Derek''s jokes and calmly replied,"You know why. After you get married, Amy will move
in with you at the vi. Joe can go to your vi for piano lessons. And Cherry will get to sleep
peacefully." He thought that there was no way for Derek to tease him.
Derek gave up. "Forget I mentioned it." He realized he could not win with Jackson.
Derek changed the subject to the real reason he was there. "So, how did it go? You met with them this
afternoon, right?"
Jackson massaged his forehead and closed his eyes. He didn''t open them when he spoke to Derek.
"Jonson kept silent. And Eric said he needed to see the token."
Derek asked,"What did you tell them? The truth? Did you tell them the truth?" He nervously waited for
Jackson''s answer.
Jackson opened his eyes but kept them on the ceiling. He shook his head. "Not yet. I can''t tell them the
truth. Not yet."
Derek pressed Jackson with more questions. "How did you deal with Eric then?"
Jackson answered,"I''m more powerful and tougher than him. He''ll always listen to me." But Jackson
knotted his eyebrows in deep thought. "I''m worried about Bobby. He knows too much about me. And if
he stays with Eric, he''s gonna be a threat."
"But they''re best friends, he''ll never betray Eric," Derek reminded Jackson.
Jackson nodded,"I know."
"What are we going to do, Jackson? We can hide today but they''ll find out the truth soon enough that
the token is missing. And we don''t know what Eric will do to us when his patience runs out," Derek
reminded Jackson. Derek worried about this the most. If Eric or Jonson made the next step, it would
create a scandal in the city. And no one knew what would happen because of it.
"There''s only one thing we can do. We need to find that token and ask that guy to keep it. Then we
need to force Eric and Jonson to leave," Jackson recounted. It was the only n and choice they had.
Derek nodded. "Yes, that''s our only choice. But how will we find that guy?" They might have a n
already but it just led to more questions for them to answer.
A silent hush went over the two of them in the reading room. Only the faint sounds of a piano ying
could be heard.
Jackson stared in front of him and his mind ran fast to think of options.
Derek did the same thing.
Jackson finally talked,"Derek."
Derek turned to Jackson at the sound of his name. "Yeah, what is it?
Jackson looked Derek in the eyes. "Maybe I need to go back to the military residentialpound
again."
Derek scratched his head. "Thepound? Is it even safe to go there now? There''s not much stuff
there now. Why would you want to go there?" Derek and Jackson had not gone to the residential
needed to find that token now.
Jackson told Derek the truth,"To see if we can find any clues over there." The only ce he thought of
to start search was the military residentialpound.
Derek continued to question Jackson,"What will we find there?"
Jackson answered,"I''m going to thepound tomorrow. I want you toe with me to find anything
that belonged to my grandfather." Thepound was the only ce that popped into his head. No
other ce came to his mind.
Derek finally nodded. "Okay, we could give it a shot to find clues."
Jackson shook Derek''s hand. "Let''s take care of this before your wedding. I need to make sure Cherry
and Joe are safe. When Cherry gives birth, I have three people I need to protect. I don''t want them to
get hurt."
Derek shook his hand and nodded while he looked straight into Jackson''s eyes. The two of them have
always been there for each other. Whenever there were problems, they always solved it together.
"You need to go to the bar more often now, too. Since you haven''t shown them the token, Eric and
Jonson might visit the bar and create trouble over there," Derek told Jackson. Eric and Jonson were
not easy to please and they definitely had suspicions now.
Jackson nodded. "I''ll have people in ce and ask them to watch out for Eric and Jonson. But I don''t
think they''ll create any problems until they have the token in their hands." Jackson was going to tell
them the truth but not yet, not while Cherry was still pregnant. He couldn''t risk it. Besides, he had no
idea where the token was so he wasn''t going to rush into doing something irrational. He needed to be
certain of what would happen before he made his decision.
Derek asked a question that bothered him. "Are you going to tell Cherry? Are you going to tell her

everything? Does she know that you''ve met with Eric and Jonson yet?" Derek knew Cherry knew
nothing.
"Soon, but not yet. I don''t want her to worry about anything but the baby. I''ll handle everything so she
can be happy," Jackson answered. He would do everything if it meant the safety of his family.
Derek patted Jackson on the shoulder,"We''re in this together, my friend."
