Chapter 567 Conversation In Reading Room (Part One)


    After dinner, Derek and Amy went straight to Cherry and Jackson''s house. Amy greeted the couple and


    then went right away to teach Joe while Derek lingered behind with Jackson and Cherry.


    Jackson turned to Derek and pointed to the study,"I''ll wait for you in there. I just need to help Cherry to


    the bedroom."


    Derek nodded and went ahead to the study to wait for Jackson.


    Cherry faced Jackson,"You don''t need to take me to the bedroom. I can do it by myself. Besides, I still


    want to stay in the living room for a little while longer. Go talk to Derek," Cherry insisted. She could still


    do things by herself and she didn''t need others to help her all the time.


    Jackson hesitated. Cherry''s belly was gettingrger every day. And he was worried she might fall and


    trip. That was why he wanted someone with her all the time. How could he let her go upstairs by herself


    alone? Jackson reasoned with Cherry,"Sweetheart, I''d feel much better if you were already upstairs. I''m


    notfortable leaving you here and climbing the stairs by yourself, What if you fall." Jackson


    exined his side.


    Cherry knew she wouldn''t be able to change Jackson''s mind so she agreed to go upstairs with him


    assisting her.


    When they reached the top of the stairs, Jackson heard muffled sounds of Joe''s piano lesson. "I want


    to stop Joe''s piano lesson for a moment. The loud sounds might make it hard for you to get a good


    night''s sleep."


    Cherry shook her head. "It''s okay. Joe''s lesson ends at nine and I don''t go to bed until ten p.m.. It


    doesn''t matter. Besides, I still watch TV or read books before I sleep anyway," Cherry replied. It didn''t


    matter to her if she got to sleep well at night or not. Joe''s future was more important for her. That was


    why she signed him up to take piano lessons.


    "We''ll discuss this again next time," Jackson replied. "If Derek and Amy get married earlier, maybe


    they''ll move into the vi earlier. Then I can ask Bill to take Joe to their vi for piano lessons. Then you


    can sleep well and Joe will still learn piano." Cherry''s happiness was important to Jackson so he


    wanted to think of ways to make things work so she''d be happy always.


    Cherry smiled. "That sounds like a wonderful n, Jackson." Cherry suddenly wished Derek and Amy


    would move in earlier so she could have Amy to talk to when Jackson and Joe weren''t around. and she


    would not feel bored.


    Jackson was relieved at Cherry''s decision. "Okay, great. It''s a deal, then. I''ll talk to Derek and see if


    they''re okay with it."


    Cherry beamed at Jackson,"Okay, honey."


    Jackson supported Cherry to the bedroom and helped her on the bed so she could watch TV. He left


    after he made sure she wasfortable.


    He joined Derek at the reading room, where he was reading a masterpiece on the desk.


    Derek looked up when the door opened and Jackson entered. He caught a few notes of Joe ying.


    "Wow, Joe''s getting really good on the piano."


    Jackson teased,"Because he''s got a great teacher!" Derekughed,"That is very true." Jackson sat


    next to Derek by his desk. "You know, we nned to put the piano in the study when we bought it. But


    Joe wanted it inside his bedroom. Cherry protested so wepromised. The room next to Joe''s was


    empty anyway so we put the piano there."


    "There are so many rooms in this house though. Joe can y in a different one every day!" Derek


    answered. Derek knew that Jackson could be very bossy and demanding with his family. And Joe was


    truly his son. Joe was very intelligent and wise, especially at his age, but he was also very stubborn,


    just like his Daddy. Besides, Cherry was also shrewd, knowing what she wanted and how to get it. It


    was actually hard to tell who was really in charge of the Chu family. Derek believed that Cherry made

    Jackson agreed with Derek. "I listen to Cherry, let her make the final decision and do whatever she

    Jackson changed the subject. "Do you have a date set for your wedding? I wanted Joe to continue his


    lessons at your vi so Cherry can get some peaceful rest. I''m afraid that Joe''s ying might disturb


    her."


    Derek agreed. "That''s true. Joe needs his piano sses. And Cherry needs to sleep well."


    Joe asked,"Will you be moving into your vi soon?" Derek knew this was important to Jackson but he


    couldn''t give him a specific answer yet.


    Derek analyzed the situation and came up with a solution. "When Wilson and Selenae back from


    their trip abroad, we''ll have the wedding. I''ll talk to Amy and we''ll start preparing for the wedding.
