Chapter 132

    Chapter 132

Don Reed grinned. “We regret how we treated Ivy in the past. We’d like to make amends to her if

    the opportunity arises.”

Leo motioned with his hand. “Don’t worry; they’re just oblivious kids. The past is no longer relevant,

and Ivy is unconcerned about it, so we don’t need to dwell on it. Just carry on as usual.”

“Oblivious…” Wyatt repeated it in hushed tones. His dark eyes flickered slightly, and the corners of

    his lips curled.

“Yes, we should get along fine.”

Wyatt raised his gaze to Ivy, giving her a suggestive smile.

Ivy subconsciously looked up after noticing the scorching gaze from across the room and saw Wyatt

staring at her with smiling, gentle eyes.

    ‘Why is he smiling?’

Ivy choked slightly and immediately lost her appetite. She rolled her eyes at him and set down the

cutlery in her hand. Somehow, the man on the other side did not be enraged.

    Instead, his grin widened.

Wyatt noticed Ivy’s annoyance and restraint and had the sudden impression that the woman in front

of him was pretty adorable. Even when she rolled her eyes, she looked stunning.

‘How did I miss this before?’

Don Reed and Leo Morgan were having a hurried conversation.

Cooper cast a nce at his sister and Wyatt. The exchange of nces between these two, as well

as the atmosphere, felt surprisingly strange.

“By the way, Mr. Reed, I heard many of your ships were damaged at sea. If necessary, Morgan

Corporation’s fleet can assist in transporting your cargo.”

Cooper smiled and changed the subject to draw Wyatt’s attention to him.

Wyatt uttered a simple “okay” and smiled at Ivy again, just as Ivy was about to exhale a sigh of

    relief.

Ivy became irritated when she saw this. ‘Is he finished?! What kind of ruse is he pulling?’

Ivy immediately turned to face Leo. “Dad, I just remembered I have an appointment with Thea, so I’ll

    go first.”

Anyway, Ivy had already expressed her gratitude to the Reeds, so staying for the rest of the dinner

    was unnecessary.

    Leo nodded. “All right, then.”

Ivy cracked a grin. “Goodbye, Dad, Chairman Reed.”

She took her belongings and walked out after greeting them. Ivy had not gone far when Wyatt

    caught up with her.

    “Ivy…!”

She returned his stare with impatience.

‘When did Wyatt Reed be so attached? Did he take the incorrect medication?’

“Do you still require something, Mr. Reed?” Her tone of voice was apathetic.

She didn’t want him to think they could be intimate after just one meal. That meal was merely a

    show of courtesy.

Wyatt was taken aback when he looked into her icy eyes. He approached her gently and calmly,

trying to keep his emotions in check. As he looked at her, his eyes were dark and deep.

The cold vibe he was giving off was a little oppressive.

“Your father just told you that we should get along normally, so you should oblige.” His tone was

    firm, cold, and reserved.

Ivy gave him an odd look, frowned, and said, “He didn’t mean it that way.”

“How so?” Wyatt clenched his teeth.

Ivy’s words almost choked her. “Who knows?”

Her phone was in her hand, but it suddenly felt empty. In a split second, it was with Wyatt.

Wyatt’s lovely slender finger tapped on her phone screen as he looked up his number and

    unblocked himself.

“You won’t be able to block me at will in the future. I’ll tell your father if you don’t.”

    Ivy was taken aback.

‘Does he have the audacity to say this so justifiably? Dad intended for him to keep his distance!

Does this son of a bitch haveprehension issues?!’ Còntens bel0ngs to N?(v)elDr/a/ma.Org

Ivy was on the verge of going insane.

Ivy took her phone, looked down at it, and couldn’t speak because she was so enraged. Wyatt

unblocked himself and even changed his name to “Savior” on her phone.

He had highly thick skin. Was he trying to make her feel bad for deleting his number?

Ivy bit her lower lip, refusing to speak to him any longer, and turned to leave.

Wyatt hurriedly followed her. He moved in sync with her as if he were her shadow. He abruptly said,

“Ivy, I’ll teach you to swim,” as they approached the restaurant’s entrance.

Wyatt still remembered Sebastian telling him that after the ne crash when he couldn’t find her in

the vast ocean, she couldn’t swim.

Ivy’s panic and fear on that variety show when she saw Brad Cooper underwater for too long were

caused by her phobia of water, not her concern for Brad.

Ivy, who had always been apetitive person, couldn’t possibly know how to swim.

Wyatt wanted to teach her so she wouldn’t be in as much danger the next time.

Ivy’s body stiffened as she heard those words. Her back swayed slightly as she faced Wyatt, and

the blood drained from her face.

Ivy suddenly realized that even after a long time, specific memories, such as the suffocating

sensation of having her head shoved underwater, would profoundly affect her entire being.

Her body would break out in cold sweat, and she would gasp for air as long as she thought about it.

The atmosphere grew heavier and more depressing. Ivy finally turned around to face Wyatt.

His lips were curled up, but her almond eyes were cold, and she exuded a chilly vibe.

Wyatt couldn’t figure out why Ivy’s face had suddenly turned gloomy.

“Mr. Reed, being nosy is a very irritating trait.”

Wyatt’s eyes were fixed on her as he stepped forward and looked down at her. “Really? Why are

you unwilling to learn? Please give me a reason.”

The man’s eyes were deep and dark, reflecting the entrance’s countless exquisitendscape lights,

which looked like a river of stars.

Ivy’s teeth were clenched. Her skin was pale, and the chill in her eyes was palpable.

Wyatt suddenly realized he had touched on her taboo, but this piqued his interest even more.

Ivy stiffened for a beat before sneering. Her eyes flitted. She was a little self-deprecating.

“Have you forgotten, Mr. Reed? You fished me out of the pool three years ago before I exchanged

my blood to marry you. Why should I learn to swim if I’m going to drown again?”

Wyatt was surprised by this. His dark eyes were filled with astonishment and despair.

Ivy looked him in the eyes and smiled wider. Her eyes gradually became darker.

“Oh, you forgot... Or maybe you didn’t realize you’d saved me?”

Wyatt had no idea that the person he had fished out of the pool was the same person who hadter

proposed to him in exchange for her blood.

His face became despondently pale and stiff. He only remembered Ivy appearing out of nowhere

and offering to donate blood in exchange for his marriage.

Because Alice Perez’s life was on the line, he simply agreed. Wyatt immediately remembered that

scene from three years ago when he heard this.

He’d been asked to go to that private swimming pool by an unknown person. He was dyed for

some reason and arrived twenty minuteste.

When he arrived, he discovered a lifeless woman floating in the water.

Wyatt rescued thedy. He sent her to the hospital after a simple first aid and did not have time to

care about the follow-up, nor did he pay attention to what the woman looked like. He had no idea

Ivy was the woman who had nearly drowned in the pool.

Wyatt remained motionless. His dark eyes were sullen and cold. His heart began to tremble. He felt

as if he had been pped in the face as he stared at Ivy. The emotions that rushed through his

chest wereplex and shocking. He felt as if his heart was being strangled so tightly that he

    couldn’t breathe.

A million thoughts raced through his mind.

‘How could she have gone through all of that?’

    ‘How did she get drowned?’

‘How did all of this happen?’

On the other hand, Ivy simply smiled as if nothing had happened. “Forget it,” she said, her voice

hoarse and low. “It’s all in the past now, so bringing it up is pointless.”
