    Chapter 131

Wyatt led Ken to the President’s Office. Wyatt’s icy gaze made his scalp numb.

    “President…”

“Is this the result of your nning?” Wyatt’s voice was maic and condensed, with no warmth.

Ken exined sheepishly. “President, not only has the Morgan family expressed support for Sir

Vince’s variety show, but even Don Reed has given notice to the relevant media, so...”

Wyatt’s eyes were dark and intense. “If that’s the case, Reed Corporation must be the sole investor,

    do you understand?”

“Understood, this can definitely be done,” Ken responded immediately.

“Since I’m investing in this show, I’d like to pay them a visit and experience it for myself,” Wyatt said

calmly, picking up the coffee on the side and taking a sip.

Ken nodded, then looked up in surprise. He took the shortest time to process this information. “Of

course, yes. You will appear as an enigmatic visitor. I believe that will definitely increase the buzz

surrounding this variety show in which ourpany has invested.”

Wyatt gave a satisfied nod. “You are free to leave.”

Ken exhaled a sigh of relief and exited the office, only to return a momentter. His tone of voice

    was solemn.

    “President, the Don has arrived.”

Wyatt cocked his brow slightly. He didn’t say anything, but he nodded to indicate that everything

    was fine.

When Don Reed entered the President’s Office, he sat on the sofa while Eva stood to the side,

    looking hesitant.

“Why are you here, Grandpa and Mom?”

Eva expressed her displeasure to her son. “Your sister is not here, and your father is away on

business. Why can’t wee to see you because you haven’t returned home in so many days?”

Don Reed coughed; his lips pursed. “Get ready for tonight. I made a dinner reservation with the

    Morgans.”

    Wyatt smirked. “The Morgans?”

Don Reed’s decision was unexpected, and Eva was taken aback. She was very dissatisfied.

“Why should we dine with their family? A plethora of men always surrounds Ivy. I even forwarded

    the photos to Wyatt.”

    Wyatt’s expression changed. “Mom.”

Don Reed cast a worried nce at Eva, who was gathering her emotions. She clenched her teeth

    with reluctance.

“Wyatt, your rtionship with Ivy needs to be solidified,” the old man said in a hoarse voice. “You

went out of your way to irritate those pirates for her sake. I know you like her, but I’m not sure if

she’s interested in you. We lost one of ourpany’s cargo ships, and the Morgan family has

graciously offered to assist us. The best oue will be if our families can reconcile and you two

    end up together.”

Don Reed was a wise man who would never enter into an unfavorable deal. He was aware that

    Wyatt had feelings for Ivy.

Even if the Reeds bowed down and agreed to terms with Ivy’s family history, it would be worthwhile.

A marriage alliance between their families would always be preferable to their current situation.

After all, it was the Reeds’ fault that Ivy despised them.

Wyatt paused for a moment before uttering a faint “mm.” Despite the fact that he was probably

aware that this would not end well, he hadn’t seen Ivy in a long time.

Eva was ignored to the side and was so irritated that she nearly stomped her foot in protest.

“How can you allow Ivy to marry into our family again, Dad? Her personal life is in shambles right

now. Who doesn’t know she’s hooking up with everyone on the inte? If we ept such a

daughter-inw, our family will be mocked!”

“Stop talking!” Don Reed chastised her. His expression was depressing. “Who are you to be picky

    about the Morgans’ only daughter?!”

Don Reed berates Eva, so she freezes in ce. To begin with, her standing in the family was low.

Eva had been living in constant fear of being kicked out of the family since the incident in which she

assisted Piper in stealing Don Reed’s emerald pipe.

Eva had no idea where Piper had been sent, so she didn’t even have anyone to talk to.

Wyatt stood by and watched as Don Reed chastised her without saying anything. His cold eyes

made her feel even more uneasy. As a result, her hatred for Ivy grew even stronger.

Wyatt came to a halt and spoke to Ken, who was standing to the side.

“Return Madam to the vi. She is not required to attend the dinner this evening.”

Eva became utterly immobile. Don Reed nodded as well. “That’s also fine. We can’t let this

opportunity to reconcile with the Morgans pass us by.”

They didn’t even inquire about Eva’s opinion. Eva was irritated by Wyatt’s demeanor. Her

expression was solemn as she walked away.

The dinner was scheduled to take ce in a private restaurant. There was no one else besides the

Morgans and the Reeds. Helios and Ivy were brought to the dinner by Leo Morgan.

Because this was a casual dinner, Ivy wore a grayish-blue long dress and Manolos. She had a cool

and elegant demeanor with a dash of vivacity.

Don Reed and Leo exchanged pleasantries. They didn’t say anything personal and mostly talked

    about work.

Despite the apparent friendliness of the situation, it felt very awkward.

Ivy sat there, feeling that pair of eyes from across the room, trying to bore a hole through her head.

It was vexing, to say the least! Ivy couldn’t help herself when that intent gaze fell on her again. She

abruptly raised her head and returned his stare.

Wyatt was taken aback at first, but heter smiled gently at her.

Ivy clenched her teeth and refused to look away.

What was Wyatt Reed acting out in front of the elders for?

She had no intention ofing, but Leo reminded her that it was Wyatt who had saved her, so she

should not be rude. At the very least, she should sit for a while before departing. When Leo realized

it was almost time, he gave Ivy a look.

“In fact, Ivy and I are grateful that the Reeds cane to our aid. Ivy has specially prepared a gift

for you, Chairman Reed, in addition to our business coboration.”

Ivy smiled as she took a box from her purse and handed it to Don Reed.

“Chairman Reed, this was acquired from a private collector in France. The same master made thisContent rights by N?velDr//ama.Org.

pipe like the one you had at the start. I heard you frequently visit the museum to see that emerald

pipe, and I know how much you don’t want to part with it, so I found this for you to express my

    gratitude.”

Don Reed’s corners of his lips twitched.

‘She knows I go to the museum all the time just to look at my own pipe? It sounds like she’s making

    fun of me.’

Don Reed was taken aback when he opened the box. This pipe was not identical to his emerald

pipe, but it was superior to the one in the museum. The emeralds’ color and rity were even more

vibrant. It was clear that it had been well cared for. It was indeed precious, probably in the tens of

    thousands of dors.

Even if someone could afford it, the original owner may refuse to sell it. It was only on the show as

    part of a private collection.

Don Reed had no idea the Morgans would be able to get their hands on this. He was excited and

wanted to take a closer look and touch it, but he was also concerned that his sweat would corrode

this treasure. His eyes, however, quickly faded.

The Morgans only paid an exorbitant price for it in order to repay Wyatt for saving Ivy’s life.

They remained silent on the marriage proposal.

The fact that they gave him this pipe demonstrated that Leo was unconcerned about money and

would not force his daughter to marry for convenience.

Don Reed was a wise man who saw right through Leo’s deception. He gave a faint smile and

looked at Wyatt, who also seemed to understand Leo’s thoughts.

Wyatt had a slightly sunken and dark face.

As he locked his gaze on Ivy, he was enveloped in a faint chill.

Ivy lowered her head and ate her food quietly the entire time. She didn’t want to be a part of their

    conversation at all.
