    Bailey''s pov


    Though his words made my heart raced, the doubt clouded my feelings and made me scowl. "


    Right. Then you have a funny way of showing it."


    I pushed off him and rest my palm on his chest to push away from him fully, but he gripped both my


    wrists this time and prevented me to.


    " Let me exin everything Bailey." His tone is soft with a plea that almost melted my resolve, but I


    refuse to be weakened so quickly.

    " Please. I know the way I left wasn''t right-


    " You damn right it wasn''t!" I snapped, my face flushing with irritation. His eyes pleaded with me to


    listen, to understand, but the frustration still lingered in my chest painfully.

    I shook my head, trying to rip myself out his hold. " This is what any guilty person say to plead their


    case." I snorted out a dryugh.


    Kaleb winced and let out a breath, but he didn''t release his grip on my wrists. "I messed up, Bailey.


    I''m not denying that, but I need you to hear me out."


    I know that I wouldn''t leave here without him speaking to me, nor was it even possible to with his


    grip around my wrists.


    So I pressed my lips into a frown and nod.


    He looks relieved and started. " When Stefan called me, he said Juliet had gotten intoxicated and


    she did not feel well. She would only allow me to bring her home."


    His brows furrowed and his lips lined into a frown. " He gave the phone to her and she threatened to


    tell her father I was the one who gave her the drinks that wasced. I couldn''t bring her homest


    night so her dad won''t ask questions. I had no choice but to let her sleep in my room."


    My eyebrows clench. " Her drinks wereced?"


    He nod. " Stefan said they she left them for a bit and when she came back she was going crazy."


    " Then why didn''t you just tell me sost night Kaleb? I had to see you carrying her to your vehicle."


    I grumble, trying to free myself of his grip and finally he let me.


    I don''t step away from him though, I only fold my arms and stared at him firmly. " You could have


    just said so. You didn''t have to leave the way you did."


    He puffed out a breath and rolled his palm over his face. " I know and that was my mistake. I didn''t


    want you to think that I wanted to drop her. My intentions were to drop her off ande back to


    you. Things took a turn when she vomited on my shirt and by the time I washed it off, I got a call


    from Ryan saying the party was over."


    He looked at me with honesty. " I would''ve told you everything as soon as I got back. I would''ve


    called you but I thought it was better to exin in person. I didn''t think I''d wake up to a picture of


    you and Stefan kissing," his jaw ticked at the end of his words.


    I looked away, now feeling guilty. " It was a dare and we didn''t kiss. We made it seem that way but


    we hadn''t. I didn''t want the guy to shave his head bald Kaleb. You know how cruel that game can


    be."


    He lifted a strong shoulder into a shrug. " I don''t know. I don''t want his lips or his face anywhere


    near you. "

    I rolled my eyes. " Kaleb, you can''t be possessive when we are not in a rtionship. And you also


    can''t bully who I interact with," I said, my frustration resurfacing.


    His eyes cloud with frustration but before he speak I lift my hand up to silence him. " And before you


    say we are, we are not. Not until we talk about this better. I understand what happenedst night


    but that doesn''t mean I will let it slide easily."


    His shoulders sagged and for a second he looked like a hurt puppy. I almost lost the firmness in my


    voice but decided if this were to work out, we needed bettermunication.


    " If you had told me straight up Juliet was threatening you I would not have made the assumption


    and gotten hurt." I pointed a finger at his chest. " You have a lot of mopping to do Sam."


    He nodded quickly, his eyes lighting back up with hope. " I just want you Bailey and I''ll do anything


    to be back into your good graces."


    I raised a brow. " Is that so?"


    He nodded quickly.


    " Well then, how about you also reveal why you lied about not being in Juliet''s room the day she


    moved in next door to you and Mira?" My jaw hurt as I pressed my teeth against each other. I can


    still remember how she gloated to Mira and me about Kaleb talking to her for so long."


    His brows furrowed and an adorable confused expression waved on his face. " I didn''t lie about


    that."


    " Juliet said-


    Kaleb facial expression changed into irritation and he cut me off. " I quite frankly don''t give a damn


    what Juliet said. That girl is a liar and you shouldn''t listen to her."


    I popped my hip sassily and his eyes shifted into amusement. "Then who should I listen to? You?"


    He nod, rolling his bottom lip between his teeth and sucked. Before I can retort, one of his arms


    wrap around my middle and pulled me flush to his body. "Yes, you should only listen to your


    boyfriend from now on." He lowered his head and I raised a brow despite having butterflies in my


    stomach.


    " You can also lie to Kaleb." I pointed out. " And we are still not official."


    He rolled his eyes and dipped his head lower until our lips are breath apart. " We are official in my


    eyes but I don''t mind chasing you until you give in."


    His head tilt and his eyes bore into mine deeply. The intensity made me shiver. " Also, I don''t think I


    can possibly lie to you Bailey. I don''t think you have realized yet the power you have over me


    flower."


    I was about to respond when the door suddenly thrust open and her voice fluttered in. " Kaleb you
