    Selena, who was hiding behind a boulder, pulled a rope as she gritted her teeth. The twigs and vines stung on her soft hands causing her to bleed but she didn''t falter as if her life depended on it.


    utz had told her multiple times how important this job was and how failing in it could have big repercussions. So she couldn''t help but give it her all.


    The rope tightened before the golem''s leg making it triple on it. This caused the golem to stumble.


    Its stumbling added with the momentum it had gained was enough to make it fall off the edge of the floating ind. But for reasons good or bad utz was in the way. If utz continued to stay so the golem might break its fall and push utz through the end instead.


    The golem was a few inches away from utz, so any efforts to dodge its onught from utz''s side would have been useless. It was simply toote to dodge.


    But then something unexpected happened...


    utz smirked as he jumped off the cliff willingly.


    "Hah," Selena squeaked as her mouth fell open. Her hand flew to her chest in shock. "utz!" She screamed.


    Meanwhile, with no one toe in between the golem and its foolish charge, the golem fell off the edge. Owing to itsrge body and sturdy structure it couldn''t even attempt to break its charge.


    But while it made a free fall off the cliff it noticed the presence of utz… There he was dangling from the edge of the ind while he curled his lips. His eyes appeared t as if full of mockery for the golem.


    As soon as utz had jumped off the cliff he had transformed his spirit hammer into a ck spirit w. The w''s fangs sunk deep into the ind''s edge, breaking his fall.


    But the golem had no such methods to save itself. It could only watch at utz in desperation as he sank more and more into nothingness.


    The inds were floating high in the sky, even above the white clouds. utz saw the golem fall as he disappeared into the whiteness of the clouds.


    "This is the end."

    This is the reason why utz had chosen to fight against the golem instead of trapping it from the very beginning. Only the greatest contributor gets these extra prizes.


    If utz would have trapped the golem from the very beginning he would not have got the greatest contributor tag as both Selena and utz would have equal amounts of contribution. Hence, no one would have got the prize.


    On top of that the golem''s core considers only the greatest contributor as its master.


    utz smiled. Little by little utz pulled himself up the edge.


    Selena had hurried to the edge after utz'' and the golem''s fall. She wanted to know the state they were in. Her heart was thumping hard as she couldn''t help but freak out over the events that had transpired.


    But, she could only give off a sigh of relief as she saw utz climbing up the cliff.


    *sigh*


    ''He got me worried for nothing,'' Selena thought as she sulked.


    She reached out her palms trying to give utz a helping hand but utz ignored it as he got up himself. Her hands dangled in the air with no touch in utter loneliness.


    utz walked past Selena. She could only watch at her hand motionlessly as they shook. Her lips shrink as her pupils shook in sync with her hands.


    Bringing her hands to her chest she lowered her head as her neck appeared to shrink.


    The reason utz chose to ignore her was simple. He had yet to put his faith in her. What would happen if instead of helping him get up the cliff, Selena chose to push him off instead? The possibility of that is extremely low since Selena needed utz to survive. But utz chose to not take any risks. As a ninja in past life, utz preferred to be self dependant. He was too used to loneliness.


    Selena, who understood utz''s intentions could only drown in sorrow. She had always felt that her love was unrequited and she had to live with it. Like every maiden in love she too wants her man to love her back. Her body might be satisfied but her heart never was.


    *crack* *crack*


    The ground cracked and from within it a simr tform with concentric circles appeared. The circles shone a tint of yellow after which a yellow light emerged that seemed to touch the sky.


    This has been the first edge portal that has been unlocked so far. The other inter ind portals are yet to be explored.


    If one were to look into the sky one would see five beams of lights going up above touching the heavens. Four of them were green which were supposed to being from portals that allowed the participants to quit this stage. One on every ind. And thest one was yellow, the one utz had just unlocked. It was used to transport utz from this ind to the very next in a clockwise manner.


    utz took out the bracelet that he had just obtained from defeating the golem. It came off as a nice bonus.
