utz had finally achieved what he had aimed for. He had got his hands on the golem''s core!


    But was one golem core enough?


    "I want all of them," utz imed as he clenched his fists.


    Just like there were four floating inds around the central ind, simrly, there are four guarding golem as well. utz has just 2 days to collect all the cores.


    That is why utz had no time to rejoice his victory against the golem or to ck off in any way.


    As utz dictated his goal, Selena moped behind him as her eyes fell on therge portal in front of her. She could only gaze at it with a dazed expression.


    "It''s the portal to the next ind isn''t it?" Selena asked as she caught up with utz.


    utz nodded to Selena''s question.


    utz was in a hurry, he wanted to cover as much distance as possible before the night fell.


    Owing to his hurry, utz grasped Selena''s hands as he pulled her with him. He intended to drag her in the portal not wanting to give her any chances toin.


    "Owch!" Selena squeaked as she closed her eyes shut to forget the pain.


    utz raised his brows.


    ''What the hell? Stop with your act!''


    Neither did he apply much force in his hands nor did he expect Selena to be of such a weakplexion. After all, just a day before he was pounding her like crazy.


    It wasn''t until he turned around to check did he realize what had happened. Selena''s palm was bleeding and was stung with splinters at various spots.


    utz recognized those splinters. It was from the rope he had made. To make it extra strong he had made it from some strong and flexible twigs.


    ''So it was these?''


    utz rubbed his forehead in guilt. There were no words in his mouth.


    Keeping the rope tightened while the golem tripped over it was no easy job. The golem weighed at least a few tons! Her hands were enough proof to show that Selena had given it her all!


    utz scratched his neck. He could feel the sincerity she had shown towards himself and his missions. How can he ignore her state now? If he would have done that then he wouldn''t be able to look at himself in the mirror.


    In the past when utz used to work as a ninja, he would abandon his partners in ninja missions without a second thought irrespective of age and gender. That was how they were raised in the ninja vige. They believed that for the sess of missions sacrifices are to be made.


    But now? When utz was trying so hard to ovee his past, how could he abandon apanion who had genuinely helped him in his goals? What difference would it make from his past self if he were to do that?


    ''What a pain,'' utz thought as he scratched his neck.


    Taking a peek in his inventory he took out a few herbs he had collected back in the tutorial zone.


    Following that he brought both of her hands closer, the palms facing towards ths sky. He handled them with much more care than before. Selena could only stare at his face in a daze wondering what was happening.


    utz pulled out all the splinters with extreme swiftness. These were so small that Selena couldn''t even find them with her naked eye let alone pull them out. It was as if utz was used to doing this almost everyday!


    ''This should work,'' utz thought.


    utz crushed those herbs above her hands.


    *drip*


    Drops of the herbal juice fell on her wounds as utz administered them with care. As the green juice seeped in her wounds she felt her pain diminishing. She was scared at first of the pain that mighte along with it but surprisingly it worked as a tranquilizer.


    She bit her lips, a fervent of emotions swayed in her heart. She was witnessing a side of utz which she had never seen before.


    utz was poprly known as the ''lone wolf'' among the newbies. But this lone wolf can also lead and defend the pack of wolves if need be. That was what she thought. Little did she know of utz''s past.


    utz warm touch seeping through her hands into her entire body. It was the warmest feel she had ever received from him. Her eyes loosened as she let herself cherish this moment.


    The herbs were wrung dry of their juice. utz tossed the herbs aside. Selena watched as the herbs swayed in the air before touching the ground kissing dust.


    Ever since she and utz had been together there had not been a single moment she had felt unhappy about it. Being with utz was much safer and fulfilling than anyone else. But there''s one fear that always exists in the roots of her heart. One that would not let her sleep.


    She fears that she would be tossed aside by utz after she is wrung out of her juice just like the herbs that were now kissing the ground.


    After all did utz truly need her? Probably not.


    This fear was not baseless owing to the kind of rtionship they were in. She had asked utz if she considers her to be his lover to which he had given her no replies.


    In Hell, utz was the only person she had… the only one she could rely on. What would she do if her man were to abandon her? She doesn''t want him to abandon her.


    "Let''s go," Selena was brought back to reality by utz who was pointing to the portal with his thumb.


    Selena nodded and followed behind utz.


    *swish* *swish*


    They disappeared into thin air as soon as they stepped on the tform.
