Chapter 969
It appeared that this individual was the mastermind, the leader.
Summoning all her strength, Josie tightly clenched her hand, regaining her rity. She straightened up
and opened her eyes, attempting to discern the identity of the person.
After listening to Johnny’s report, the woman finally approached Josie.
“You’re quite resilient,” came a familiar voice. Josie could now clearly see the face of the person
speaking.
That face bore a striking resemnce to her own. It wasn’t exactly a beautiful face, but rather,
somewhat in. However, their eyes were both exceptionally bright and clear, radiating a stubborn
resilience.
“Heather!”
Josie merely furrowed her brows, seemingly unsurprised, as she continued to gaze at Heather.
Heather folded her umbre and stood in front of her with a puzzled expression. “You don’t seem
surprised.”
“I had a hunch,” Josie responded with a smirk.
In Wavery, no one wished for Josie to disappear more than Heather did.
“The rain was heavyst night, but I slept quite well. How about you?” Heather looked at Josie with a
meaningful gaze.
Thetter was drenched from head to toe, her face pale, lookingpletely disheveled.
Just seeing her in that state brought joy to Heather.
“As you can see.”
Heather had been observing me all this time. How much does she know? Josie wondered.
Heather leisurely strolled around her, making a full circle. “I really didn’t expect Dexter to let you go
abroad. He has made thorough ns for you. You’re truly fortunate.”
Ever since her unsessful attempt to teach Josie a lesson at the bar, which ended with Dexter
rescuing Josie, she had been keeping tabs on her. When she discovered that Josie was heading to the
airport, she felt relieved. However, what she didn’t expect was that Josie didn’t leave.
“As you wished, I didn’t go.”
“If you did go, does that mean you’ll be a secret lover?” Heather bent down, looked at Josie, and
slowly added, “You really have no shame.”
Yet, even when scolded like this, Josie didn’t get angry. She looked at Heather with a gaze full of
contempt, as if she was looking at trash, seemingly quite puzzled.

She suddenly let out a soft chuckle.
Heather’s expression changed. “Why are youughing?”
“I’mughing at the audacity of you calling me shameless when it’s clearly you. How can you have the
nerve to scold me so confidently?” Josie adjusted her posture, looking utterly fed up. “Even if you kill
me today, I will always be Dexter’s first wife. After marrying you, he still wants to keep me as a mistress
tucked away in a luxurious house. That’s an indisputable fact.”
“You!”
These words clearly provoked Heather. She took a deep breath, forcing herself to hold back.
“You’re too full of yourself, Josie. Who do you think you are? You’re nothing more than a third party who
interfered with me and Dex. If I hadn’t gotten lost back then, would you even matter?”
When she spoke those words, she was extremely confident, so confident that it left Josie
dumbfounded. It was as if she had gone mad, pletely immersing herself in the identity of Liana. It
was probably because she had worn the mask for so long that she couldn’t take it off anymore…
It seemed that Arnold’s sudden incident left him no time to inform her that he had already discovered
her true identity. That must be why she was speaking so boldly.
This could be considered a good thing.
Josie’s smile widened. “So, why did you kidnap me? You’re about to get married. Are you so insecure
that you think I’d try to steal him from you?”
“Enough, Josie! Stop pretending you don’t care. I can’t stand your high and mighty attitude!” Heather
turned around, pulled the knife from Johnny’s hand, and held it to Josie’s face.
“We’re both the same kind of people, so why do you get all the benefits?”
