Chapter 970
Josie found herself forced to tilt her head back, feeling the sharpness of the knife’s tip.
“Who said we are the same kind of people?”
“Isn’t that true?” Heather lost all the obedience she usually showed in front of others. Her face was
stern as she drawled, “We both grew up in the lowest social ss. Why is it that you’re so fortunate to
have met Dexter first, to live a life of luxury, and even use the status of Mrs. Russell to lecture me?”
Heather always remembered what Josie said when she was Mrs. Russell. She was very kind,
repeatedly helping Heather out of difficult situations and preventing Summer from troubling her.
However, Heather felt that this was nothing more than a condescending act of charity.
If she were Mrs. Russell, she could also say such words.
Josie now understood. It seemed that all her past advice had been taken as lessons.
“Is the title of Mrs. Russell so important to you? Even without Dexter’s protection, I have my own
independent personality. What does it have to do with him?”
“You have everything now, and yet, I despise your hypocritical facade the most.” Heather gripped the
knife handle tightly, wishing she could just sh her, but she didn’t. “Unfortunately for you, you’re about
to lose it all.”
“What are you going to do…”
“It’s nothing. I’ve juste to understand something.” Heather straightened her back. “As long as
you’re alive, Dex will never look at me the way I want. So, you can’t live any longer.”
When she spoke those words, it was as if she was merely discussing the day’s weather. It was hard to
imagine that such words coulde from the mouth of such a pure and innocent woman.
A chill ran down Josie’s spine. “If I die, Dexter will not let you off.”
“He won’t know. I will live on in your stead forever. Everything that is yours will be mine. One day,
he will fall in love with me, and we will grow old together.” Heather’s face lit up with anticipation, almost
obsessively. “Even if he does find out, what can he do? I am the eldest daughter of the Olsen family,
his savior in his youth. Could he really retaliate against me?”
She’s gone mad, absolutely mad! Josie couldn’t believe she had be so engrossed in her role to
be this audacious.
“Why so anxious? I’m not going to kill you now.” Heather looked at Josie condescendingly, her eyes full
of disgust. “I’ll let you witness our grand wedding before sending you on your way.”
Josie remained silent, her hands clenched tightly.

Upon hearing that, Johnny couldn’t help but speak up. “What if something unfavorable happens if the
situation drags on? If Dexter finds out, everything will be over.”
“This is the abandoned construction site within the Olsen family’s property. It’s remote and hidden. He
won’t possibly find it,” Heather exined, throwing the knife on the ground. “She has a fever. Give her
some medicine, and don’t let her die.”
“O-Okay…”
Before Heather left, she cast a disdainful nce at the disheveled Josie. “I’m off to rehearse
tomorrow’s wedding ceremony. You’d better hang in there and witness my grand wedding with Dex.”
It seemed to be her obsession.
After she left, Josie was given fever-reducing medicine by Johnny. He then applied a hot towel to her
forehead, his movements somewhat clumsy.
Her voice was hoarse. “How much did she pay you to work yourselves to death like this?”
“Do you people only see money?” Johnny pinched her cheek. “What I’m doing is out of love and
loyalty!”
It seemed that he must have been Heather’s friend or subordinate in the past to go to such lengths for
her.
Her phone had been confiscated, leaving her unable to contact the outside world. She had no idea how
Justin was faring or why Morgan had disappeared…
Also… Will Dexter… be able to find me?
