Chapter 214 Do Me A Favor

Chapter 214 Do Me A Favor

"It must be this guy who brings these bad lucks. We never met these trouble before." Staring at Rocky

with anger, Archer found fault in him.

"Yes, he is a nobody and could not even help us. Tod, I suggest not having him stay with us."

    "I agree."

    "Me, too."

Other spirit maniptors had expressed their ill feelings towards Rocky. These ill feelings stemmed

from them being wounded lightly or heavily and boiled their anger about these misfortunes toward

    Rocky.

"The wild spirit-manipted beast in the second district is more powerful. The two beasts we just killed

along the way may just be their weak minions. The one we''re about to face will be stronger as we get

closer and closer to the center of the Spiritual Fairnd. These misfortunes we faced have nothing to

    N?velDrama.Org holds this content.

do with this man," Tod said sternly. He knew in himself that they should not be ming others. He knew

that they got hurt because they were not powerful enough.

"But I still have no good feelings about him," Archer said unreasonably.

"All right! Let''s move! We don''t have much time to spend here. It will be better if we hurry and catch the

other troops in our way." Tod gave a nod to Archer which eased him up.

Then, the team moved forward. Time shed before their eyes and the fifth day had begun.

Tod wasn''t wrong when he told his team about the beasts getting stronger as they approached the

center of the Spiritual Fairnd. Their fighting agility declined as they travelled further, fighting spirit-

    manipted beasts along their way.

The fighting troop reached their limits. And Tod remained pensive. If they continued, their team might

head into a copse before even meeting another wild beast.

"We must stop right here, right now," Tod said in dismay. If they went further, they might just lose their

    lives.

"No! We must go on! We overcame a lot of difficulties to reach this point and giving up right now would

    not be even a choice!"

"That''s right! The treasure and the spiritual beast is near."

"Leaving this ce would mean us leaving empty-handed. That can''t happen!"

The spirit maniptors shouted their disagreements after hearing Tod''s sentiments.

"Tod, we may be tired but we are fine. We can go further," Archer added, now injured yet unwilling to go

    back either.

Crossing his arms, Rocky, on the other hand, looked calm. He yed a small role in killing off the

beasts and had not shown the enormous powers he may have. Though having faced a fight with the

beasts, one after another, Rocky, if he were to disappear, would still be left unnoticed by the team.

All of the other spirit maniptors insisted on moving on. Tod remained helpless with their sentiments

and conceded. "Let''s move on and go further. If there is anything wrong, we will retreat immediately.

We are in a hazardous area now. Being your captain, I don''t want to put your life at risk."

Other spirit maniptors gave agreed nods to each other.

At this point, an iridescent light was seen, ing from the woods, a short walk away from where they

were. Everyone felt the dim but imminent spiritual power from there.

"Th- That must be the treasure we are looking for!" the spirit maniptors eximed, seeing the light

    from the woods.

Tod couldn''t hide the excitement with his eyes. The light might be between the second and the third

district. If there were less spirit-manipted beasts along their way, they could reach their destination in

    less than a day.

"Let''s go!" Tod waved his hand to others. The team got excited and left their exhaustion, driven by their

hunger for treasure and sess. They continued moving forward, with worries of getting therest.

Coming from behind, Rocky looked up at the glistening light from time to time. But concern was painted

on his face rather than excitement.

The team travelled for another six or seven hours and no beasts harmed them on their way. They

eventually arrived at an open ground filled with several dead bodies of their fellow spirit maniptors.

Their limbs, mangled and bloody, were mutted. Some parts of the body had gone missing, and

internal organs left on the ground. The team were left disgusted with the sight and could not fathom

what had just happened in the open ground.

"They must have encountered a ferocious wild spirit-manipted beast. We must remain careful…"

Tod said, upset and with a heavy heart. He thought the team who would have reached here must be

powerful. So he assumed the wild spirit-manipted beast that could defeat a strong troop could be far

stronger than they could have imagined.

Following Tod, the team went around the field and walked a little further. To everyone''s surprise, the

earth beneath them started shaking violently. Then, an enormous creature came out of the earth which

led to one of the spirit maniptors be flown straight up to the sky.

The spirit maniptor screamed and was then silenced as the beast cut him in half, mid-air.

"Everybody! Run and hide!" Tod screamed, seeing the monster.

Other spirit maniptors were trembling with terror and turned pale. They hurried to find a ce to

cover themselves. Like a giant centipede, the creature stared at them with a horrible look.

"It''s a three-star Centipede-snake!" Rocky looked at the giant creature and realized that this Centipede-

snake was, at least, at the second grade of the three-star level. Its power was above the Earthly Stage,

    or might be even higher.

Judging from what he saw, Tod thought his team was no match for this monster.

"Retreat, now!" Tod perceived this Centipede-snake was a tough wild spirit-manipted beast and

gave an order to his troop to retreat.

"The treasure is right under our noses now. If we retreat, we were to get nothing and our efforts were to

be void. Let''s fight and rush through!" Archer shouted.

Other spirit maniptors agreed with him. Shouting, they rushed to the creature and fought along with

    their spirit-manipted beasts.

"N- No!" Tod immediately panicked. He knew that there was no chance for them to go through by force

and eventually, they would be killed by the Centipede-snake.

The Centipede-snake stood up when Archer and other spirit maniptors rushed to go through by

force. It shot its paralyzing and poisonous stings like raining cats and dogs.

Archer and the other spirit maniptors knew nothing about the venom of the Centipede-snake. The

spirit maniptors who were shot by the Centipede-snake with the poisonous stings were immediately

paralyzed and quickly fell onto the ground. Everyone turned pale with fear. Now, the Centipede-snake

rushed to them as if they were a meal waiting to be eaten alive.

"Tod, help!" Archer eximed in terror. His arrogance had disappeared and he looked embarrassed.

The situation was out of control. Tod didn''t know what to do; even he wanted to get them out the

danger. He was no match for this beast, either. If he went to fight with it, he was to end his life instead

of saving others. He had told them to retreat, but nobody followed him. It was his troop who put their

    own lives at risk.

In this life-and-death situation, protecting himself was a choice, because Tod believed heaven destroys

those who do not look out for themselves.

When Archer and the other spirit maniptors were about to be eaten alive by the Centipede-snake, a

man came to save them without being seen by anyone and left them astonished. Shining brightly, the

Frozen Wind Dagger shed on the center of the Centipede-snake.

Howling because of pains, Centipede-snake wagged his body ferociously which led to half of the

    woods destroyed.

The mysterious figure jumped backwards andnded on the ground, far from the terrified spirit

    maniptors.
