Chapter 31: You want her!

    "Alpha Derek!" I mmed the door open, and as usual, beta Venus was also there beside him. I


    marched toward his desk and stopped, "Alpha Seff just went off after causing such amotion. Can


    you at least give us a gist why? Did you and Alpha Seff fight over something?"


    Liam closes the door behind us. Alpha Derek didn''t even spare us a nce when he replied, while beta


    Venus wondered what the hell was going on.


    "No, we didn''t. He''s just a douchebag no need to worry."


    I rubbed my temples in frustration, "No Alpha, this time''s different. He was hostile to us earlier. He even


    shifted!"


    "What''s going? Why didn''t I hear about this?" beta Venus cuts in.


    "Well.." I trailed off. I looked at Alpha Derek as he signaled me to shut my mouth off. "..Though the


    scene was chaotic, we handled the situation anyway."


    She res at me, "That''s not an excuse!"


    "Venus. Drop it." Alpha Derek says in a low voice. "For now, go to the borders to check if anything


    needs to be fixed."


    Beta Venus crosses her arms, "Liam can do that. I want to hear more details about what Easton wants


    to say."


    "It''s nothing important-"


    "Then more the reason why I should stay, if it''s so irrelevant, why are you being so sensitive about


    letting me stay in the same room?" She growls slightly, irritated.


    Alpha Derek sighs, his hand resting on his forehead. "Don''t be stubborn and go. I have to talk to


    Easton privately."


    Confused, Liam and I looked at each other. We couldn''t guess what was going on- or if we were


    hallucinating since beta Venus was raising her voice against Alpha Derek yet, he was letting her off- to


    the point by begging her so.


    "No." She firmly says.


    "Then how about this? I''ll do anything you want, so can you please let this slide for once and leave?"


    Beta Venus''s eyes sparkled in satisfaction. "I can do that, i like people giving me wishes after all.


    Right? Easton?"


    I gulped. Why did she drag me into this! Alpha Derek will misunderstand!


    As beta Venus strolled out of the room, I felt Alpha Derek''s eyes darken in jealousy as he looked at me


    from a distance. A sweat broke to the sides of my face.


    "Easton, What did she mean by that?" He hissed, his hands sped together on the table.

    Once Liam left, I froze to my spot. It was only Alpha Derek and I, so I got scared that he might vent his


    anger on me if I said something wrong.


    "U-Uhmm... it''s nothing alpha. I just owed a debt from beta Venus. That''s why I told her I''ll do anything


    she wants- but she still hasn''t told me, so it''s still a deal between us." I coughed ufortably,


    "Anyway, going back to the main subject. Alpha Seff wanted me to ry to you to contact him soon."


    "What debt? what did you owe her?" He says, ignoring what I just said.


    "It''s nothing important so-"


    "Easton," He growls. "Don''t make me ask twice!"


    "Fine fine! Calm down! Geez!" I raise my hands in surrender, "You were punishing me, so i asked her to


    help me! It was at that time when you first gave her the title."


    His eyes finally calmed down, "So that''s why. How childish. Next time, don''t do something like that.


    You''ll just dig your own grave."


    "Dig my own grave? What does that mean alpha? Don''t tell me you''re finally admitting to liking her? I


    mean, isn''t all themotion about her anyway?"

    I pped loudly, "I knew it! So you finally admitted it! Well, you were obvious about it, so I''m not really


    surprised."


    "Obvious?" He raises an eyebrow, leaning his back on his chair a bit.


    "Duh, you''re possessive when ites to her. I can''t say I''m sure where I noticed it, but if I had to


    guess.. maybe from the moment you met her? your eyes were secretly always following her."


    "Nonsense,"


    "Just admit it Alpha Derek. You like her."


    "I love Cheryl." He frowns. "So tell me, how can I possibly like her?"


    Cheryl again? I thought. From the look of his face, I was sure that it wasn''t the first time he doubted


    himself.


    "Then... why won''t you just hand her over to Alpha Seff?"


    He ms his fist on the desk, his eyes darkening from anger. "No! That''s not the issue here!"


    "It''s exactly the issue Alpha," I heaved out a sigh, "You deny your feelings for her just because of


    Cheryl? Then let me ask you then, what exactly do you feel for Cheryl?"


    "I want to protect Cheryl, just like she did with me in the past. I don''t want to see her hurt at all. We''re


    always there for each other."


    Cheryl and him go way long. Alpha Derek met her in his childhood years. She was technically his little


    sister''s friend, so I''ve always watched over her as well. When his sister died, Cheryl was there at his


    lowest time. She understood what he felt and took care of him, which may be why he misunderstood


    his feelings for her.


    "That''s not love. That''spanionship! I mean look at you, she had many lovers in the past, but did


    youin? Never! You never even dare to touch her- that''s ridiculous! We''re werewolves. Having


    sex is in our blood!"


    He shakes his head, "No... That''s not it."


    "No matter where you look at it, you''re not attracted to her at all. Just admit it, the only reason why you


    care for that human is that she resembles your sister."


    "Easton!" He growls, warning me not to touch the subject. "Shut your mouth! You don''t know a damn


    thing."


    Complying with his orders, I shut my mouth off. I was disappointed that he kept lying to himself, even


    when he knew what I was talking about. It''s like something bright was standing in front of him, yet he


    dared not open his eyes.


    "Admit it. You like Venus. You want her Alpha Derek."
