Chapter 32: It Makes You Look Stupid

    "Admit it. You like Venus. You want her Alpha Derek."


    I don''t want to lie to myself anymore.


    I frowned.


    The truth is, there was no day I wouldn''t think about Venus and the possibilities if ever she became


    mine. Every night, I would get dreams about her- as if she was even haunting me whenever I closed


    my eyes.


    I was doing well resisting her attempts, but I finally gave in just a while ago. This thirst of wanting her... I


    couldn''t quench it even if I touched her for mere 5 seconds.


    I jumped to the pit myself.


    "You''re right, I like Venus." I chuckled bitterly, "It''s different from what I feel towards Cheryl. But...I can''t


    feel her sincerity. I know that Venus''s just ying around with me. You see it, right? She''s oblivious to


    love, I always feel that she''s just trying to get something from me,"


    She''s like this demon seductress that''s trying to kill me, to drain the life out of me. Whenever she tried


    to manipte me, I didn''t give a damn... I was even happy that she was making an effort to get my


    attention.


    "Alpha.. what do you n to do with her then?" Easton says in a worried expression.


    "For now... I won''t let her get what she wants so easily. I have to find out what she''s hiding."

    I looked at Easton, "then I''ll make her mine."

    As soon as I finished delegating Easton''s task for the week, I summoned their whole squad to my office


    since I had something to announce to them formally. All of them entered with confused expressions,


    Venus''s arms crossing with each other as she stared back at me.


    "Since you''re all here, let''s get straight to the point." I stood up, "This has been nned for a long time,


    even before you became a part of Crescent Moon. Though, we didn''t exactly want to introduce you to


    respect your privacy. But this concerns the Great Five Packs. Tomorrow we''ll set off to Stone City.


    Make sure you finish all your task for the day,"


    Venus coughs, catching my attention. "What''s there to be so curious about us? Isn''t this just some ploy


    to summon us outside? Wouldn''t Crescent Moon be vulnerable to attacks if we leave?"


    "All five packs will be there. If we''re vulnerable, so they''re. Anyway, there are always countermeasures


    for events like these. It''s no big deal."


    "Countermeasures? You mean you have some kind of method that can ward off small packs that could


    possibly attack thisnd?"


    "Small packs aren''t a concern."


    "Underestimating an enemy is bad, alpha. Though they''re small in numbers, if they suddenly team up


    and attack Crescent Moon, wouldn''t it equal to one of the packs from the Great Five Packs?"


    I sighed, "I understand what you''re worried about. But don''t worry, the five packs have done this


    several times, and there''s no way anyone would even plot against us since tracking them would be a


    piece of cake if they ever decided to set foot in any of ournd."


    "Even so, being careful than ignorant is better, isn''t it?"

    Staring at her bodynguage, I couldn''t fathom why she kept on intercepting my words, yet her


    expression remained the same, her posture fixed as she gazed straight back at me with no sign of


    dishonesty at all.


    "Enough," I lowly growled, "We''re going, and that''s final."


    Having no more words left to say, I dismissed them. But Venus stayed. It was obvious what it was


    about. She didn''t utter a word until the door finally closed that we were the only person within the


    range.


    "Derek, you should''ve told me about this."


    "Derek?" I chuckled, thinking how she nonchntly addressed me in my first name. "Have you


    forgotten I''m your alpha? Venus."


    She crosses her arms, and her eyebrow raised, "Have you forgotten? You kissed me earlier, DEREK."


    I smirked, "What does that have to do with you addressing me respectfully?"


    "Isn''t this how rtionship usually works?"


    "Rtionship? You mean you and I? What do you mean?" I asked, teasing her.


    Her eyes widened, anger evident on her face. "Are you USUALLY this kind of a jerk to women?"


    She''s cute, I thought. Before, I used to deny the fact that I enjoy making her mad- though she won


    against me most of the time in terms of that. But since our lips touched recently, I''ve been feeling lighter


    and seeing her differently.


    Everything about her seems to sparkle. Then I realized that I had been gawking at her for a while now. I


    snapped back, and I tilted my head, feigning innocence, "I don''t know what you''re talking about. Don''t


    change the subject. Call me ''Alpha.''"


    "No."


    "Don''t be stubborn. Are you nning to reveal to everyone that you call me so intimately like that?"


    "Why, are you scared?"


    "Sweetheart, I don''t get scared," I smirked. "I''m just concerned about your reputation."


    She scoffs. "You''re kidding. You''re the one who should be concerned about your reputation, DEREK.


    Seeing that you can''t even admit that you''re attracted towards me."


    I frowned. Truthfully, I had enough of people telling me what to do. Even Venus herself was

    my face. "I seem to have a bad memory. Can you prove it again?"


    "5 seconds isn''t enough for you?" I replied, my voice low as I ced my hands around her slim waist.


    It''s been a while since I saw how clear her purple eyes were, how beautifully her facial proportions, and


    most especially, her touch that made my wolf crazy as always.


    "It''s weird. Why do you keep riling me up like this? From the first time we met till this moment, do you


    feel proud? As you finally have me wrapped around your fingers?"


    She smiled smugly, her hands falling to her sides, "I don''t know about that. Leashing an alpha isn''t
