I wonder what this is. What the different between a

    regular ability and this.

“Maybe it was created by the same force that made

me, and certainly I am not an ability.”

You’re a companion. Are you saying that the system

    is also a companion?

“I do not think so. You have only one companion and

    it is me.”

    You’re right. So, you’re a companion, there’s abilities,

    and whatever the system is.

    “And levels too.”

No, levels dictate all this, it’s not a separated term.

    “Okey.”

Now. You as a companion possess abilities. What can

the system possess? And can you have a companion?

If you can, can the system have a companion? Or

    abilities?

    “You should ask Tolverstov.”

Maby. Let’s check the system. I’m really curios what

    is ‘action mode’.

    “Me too, it sounds exciting.”

    Action mode

    Nothing happened.

    action mode.

    Nothing.

    Is it broken?

“It says that it is off.”

So how do I turn it on?

“Maybe that what you suppose to do instead of

    opening it.”

    Oh, right.

    Action mode on.

    His vision immediately changed.

The first thing that caught his eye was Tolverstov, he

glowed soft blue light, and above his head was blue

    name tag.

    tolverstov droy (friendly)

He probably looked shocked because Tolverstov

    asked, “what happened”?

    “Nothing, just checking something.”

Tolverstov was smart enough to remain silence, and

Nathaniel turned back to his new vision.

Everything was clear, even the dark corners of the

room. He could see clearly every crack in the wall

and was surprised to see how many were on every

wall. In the periphery of his vision, he could see in

the bottom right, a round map. He couldn’t look at it

directly as it moved with his eyes, but he was aware

to the details even when he was focused on

something else. In the top of his vision, he could see

compass showing that he is currently looking to the

north plus thirty. In the bottom left of his vision, he

could see a small bag icon, and what looked like

representation of his clothes in gray.

That’s ridiculously feel like a video game.

“I want to agree with you, but my existence is as

    ridiculous as video game reality.”

    I suppose you’re right.

“Do you think the bag icon is your inventory”?

Probably, but I don’t understand why it is there, I can

already access my inventory easily enough.

“Try to open it and we shall see.”

But how do I open it?

    “That I do not know.”

After some trial and error, he found out that all he

needs to do to open it is to imagine it open.

It opened two transparent squares, one containing

the shaker, and the other containing the door

handle. There was a no access symbol on the shaker.

If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it.“I think that it is for easy access to weapons.”

I don’t think the door handle can pass for weapon,

and I have better access to the shaker thru the

    regular inventory.

“You can throw the door handle, and I think that the

    shaker is a special case.

    Whose side are you on?

    “The system side of cores.”

    “ah”

    what?

“I think the system just gave me a high five.”

    What?

“I think the system just gave me a high five.”

I heard that. But still, what?

    “Yes.”

First of all, you AND the system have no hands. I

    think.

    “Well…”

    I didn’t finish.

    “Sorry, go ahead.”

Second, how? Where? What the fuck?

    “Did you finish”?

    Yes.

“I felt something that the only way I can describe it is

high five from someone behind a wall.”

What do you mean ‘behind a wall’?

“That is the reason I think it is the system. It felt

there is someone close to me, but we are not in the

same dimension. That is not accurate, it felt like what

I think is the system, is not all the way in my

dimension. And it gave me a mental high five.”

Okey, that’s too much. I think we need to let

Tolverstov in on our little secret.

“Are you sure it is the smart thing to do”?

Yes. If I continue to find outlandish things in my self

without some explanation, I’m going to lose my mind

    for good.

“Oh, please tell him. I do not want to live in a mad

    house.”

    Okey.

    Nathaniel took a long breath.

    “Mr. Tolverstov”

“I’m just a magic expert, you can call me Tolverstov.”

    “you’re right, my mistake.”

Tolverstov seemed amused and curios at the same

time. “Did you finish to check your powers”?

“I wish. I need your help.”

“Oh, are you going to tell me some secrets”?

    “Can I trust you”?

“Yes, but I don’t see how my ward worth something

    in that matter.”

“I’ll take your ward for it.”

    “I’m happy to hear it.”

    “So where do I begin”?

“Start from how you’ve found your powers, and then

    explain them.”

    “Okey. I’m a bartender.”

    “What is a bartender”?

    “You don’t have bars here”?

    “I guess we don’t.”

“So where do you go to buy alcohol beverages”?

“I guess we don’t have alcohol beverages to.”

    “Dude”

“Is it some sort of medicine”?

“No, but hospitals do use it a lot.”

    “Is it poison”?

    Nathaniel smiled.

“Yes, but people drink it all the time.”

“I, ah, you sell poison to people”?

    Nathaniel smile widened.

“Hell no. unless your cheap ass insists to buy the

cheap vodka, or the awful whiskey I drunk last night.”

“I give up. What is this must have poison for

    hospitals”?

    Nathaniel burst out laughing.

“Okey. I didn’t think I’ll need to explain to someone

what alcohol is, but I guess I’m the expert in that

area. Alcohol is something we make from grains and

fruit, and even sugar. It’s dangerous to drink pure,

but if you put it on wounds, it cleans them, although

its stings, but it’s not dangerous at all. In relation to

my profession, we make a variety of drinks with

alcohol, some with little as two percent, and some as

high as ninety six percent, although I wouldn’t drink

it without something to soften the punch.”

“Is it that tasty, that you willing to call a poison

    beverage”?

“It’s not a poison, and it’s that tasty. I promise you.”

“I’ll take your ward for that.”

“Maybe I’ll make some for you.”

Nathaniel smiled. “And for me of cores.”

“Thank you, I guess. so, you make alcohol. How does

    that connect to your powers.”

    Nathaniel stopped to think.

“Now that I think about it, it’s a good question.”

“you’re a weird guy. Did anybody ever tell you that”?

Nathaniel smiled. “Every day. But in a good way.”
