Endermon''s horse piped up, and said it was to be collected on the evening of the sixth day every week. And not to worry, the appropriate people knew about the phrase. When Endermon told the other two this information, no one was surprised that the details regarding the income had so many mysteries surrounding it.
After all, their entire adventure was shrouded in mystery. They accepted this and let the issue drop. They had been riding a while and had made it to Dresden''s village by nightfall, so they made camp, and settled in for the night.
In the morning after coffee, they headed out once again. They made it to Dresden''s village and were warmly welcomed by those awake that early. The village was looking good, considering the last time they saw it, it was still being repaired.
Once again, a bunch of animals came running and surrounding them. The horses looked at then with amusement and playfully tried to step on the animals. But soon enough they were surrounded by people and they were being bombarded by questions and excited voices.
A shrill whistle caused them to stop and look towards the noise. Dresden stood there with the maid who was looking glowy, but altogether healthy. She called the youths by name and they went to their jobs or tasks that they were to do that day.
When it was just the adults Dresden led them to his house where there was a meal prepared. Endermon said she hoped they weren''t interrupting. He said a messenger told them they''d be there shortly.
They all sat down and began to eat. Rutus told Dresden and the maid about her gift from Endermon''s parents between bites. Dresden looked envious about the ownership of the stable, but Endermon pointed out that he had a gift from her parents, too. But it would have to wait til after breakfast.
Dresden grumbled, but ultimately finished his breakfast in relative silence. Once they were finished and the dishes were cleared away, they sat in the living room and talked about what life would be like back at the estate.
Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.
While they talked, Endermon rummaged through the bags for Dresden''s gift. It was also a small parcel. He took it and got it out of its wrapping rather quickly. Seeing the ornate box, he seemed disappointed. Until he opened it.
It was a placard that said he and a select few could go hunt in the fairy kingdom. It said not to abuse the privilege or severe and drastic measures would be taken. Dresden was told to keep it on him at all times.
If he was in the fairy kingdom''s forest without it, there was a possibility that he''d be arrested. Dresden secreted the card about his person, and made to go hunting. The maid asked where he was going and he sat back down. They said he''d have plenty of time later.
For now he had to decide if he was coming back to the estate or not. And if he was, was the maid coming too? He looked to her for guidance and she said it''d be nice to get back to the estate.
So while the maid was packing, Dresden was out talking to the eldest of the kids, and telling them the rules of the hunting party. And 8f anyone misbehaved, then he''d know within minutes.
Shiloh stepped out and whispered something to Dresden. He said like the wagon wheel one of you broke and said it got caught in the underbrush. They looked down in shame. After a few seconds they told the whole story.
Dresden said it was okay to mess about, but if property gets broken or someone gets injured, it''s better to tell someone directly. Because if not, a small situation could turn into a big if not out of control situation.
With the pep talk over and the youth unofficially in charge, Dresden and the maid had to finish packing. It didn''t take long and soon they were all riding along the road by the river. Dresden thanked Shiloh for the tip about the wheel, it really saved his ass.
Shiloh said not to worry about it, the kid was just thinking really loud about hoping no one found out they broke the wheel taking turns being a horse and pulling a cart. One got a little too overconfident and started doing tricks, which led to them breaking the wheel.
