Chapter 54


    " The car is ready ma''am! " Ben yelled from downstairs and the sound floated freely across the


    hallway to her because the house was silent so his voice echoed. She took a deep breath, getting


    ready mentally to shout back.


    " I''ming please! " She yelled back. Quickly, she arranged her disarrayed hair and ran some


    lipgloss over her lips before going out. She prayed the light headache would subside before she got


    to the hospital.


    Ben opened the car door for her and she sent him a grateful smile before sliding in. She closed her


    eyes and concentrated on trying to keep herself from vomiting more than she already had. Ben


    nced at her from the rearview mirror a few times, wondering what happened to her.


    Finally, he muttered up enough courage to speak " Ma''am, are you okay? " He asked gently.


    Her eyes shot open immediately " Yeah... Yes I''m fine Ben, thank you " She replied weakly.


    He nodded " Do you want me to call boss? "


    " Don''t! " Her voice came out strong this time as she stubbornly refused to disturb Liam while he


    was at work.


    Ben sighed " Okay ma''am " He said quietly and focused his attention on the road.


    They got to the hospital minutester and Ben waited by the car after helping her in for she was too


    weak. Ca was grateful for his help and she told him so but only earned a little smile and bow in


    return. He said it was all part of his job so she needed not to thank him.


    She went over to the receptionist and exined everything to her.


    " Your name Ma''am? " The receptionist who went by the name Laura, asked politely.


    Ca grimaced as another wave of headache flowed through her head " Ca. Ca ke " She


    managed to reply.


    Laura''s eyes widened " C... Ca ke?? The billionaire''s wife?? The one who got married


    recently?! " She asked all questions at once and sped her hand over her mouth to keep herself


    from screaming.


    Ca nodded tiredly, not having the strength for the receptionist''s chatter because it only made her


    headache worse.


    " Yes miss Laura, so can you please show me the way to the doctor''s office? " She asked tiredly but


    little did she know that Laura had no intention of releasing her just yet.


    " Wow! I''m a big fan of yours Mrs ke, for real! " Laura said excitedly.


    Ca mustered up a small smile but gave noment. Well, she couldn''t embarrass thedy and


    burst her bubbles that she was not even in the public eye much and was careful on all her social


    media tforms.


    " It''s so nice to have you here, Mrs ke! " She continued and took out her phone. Ca gave her a


    tight smile in return.


    " Can I take a picture with you?! Just a picture please! " She gushed out in barely controlled


    excitement.


    Ca sighed, not liking where this was going one bit but she couldn''t refuse, could she? It would


    only make things bad for them, Liam especially, since he was a public figure.


    She sighed again and nodded " Sure, a picture wouldn''t hurt anyone, would it? " But the picture


    turned into pictures as Laura kept striking different poses while Ca just maintained a smile, not in


    for all the receptionist''s energy.


    " The way to the doctor''s office please " She reminded Laura who was on the verge of posting the


    pictures on her social media.


    " Oh I''m sorry Mrs ke! " She said apologetically but there was a smile of happiness on her face


    which Ca could rte to the fact that she ( Laura ) finally got to take pictures with the billionaire''s


    wife. Ca was given some directions on how to get to the doctor''s office and she thanked the


    receptionist and started walking away. She got the doctor''s office right when she saw the door that


    read '' Dr Johnson '', the doctor she was told to look for.


    She knocked on the door once and went in on permission to do so. A female in a doctor''s coat sat


    on a seat and smiled, motioning her toe closer. Ca walked briskly to her and smiled, still on


    her feet.


    " Good morning, I''m here to see Doctor Johnson " She said politely.


    The woman smiled at her warmly " And you got the right person, have your seat please "


    Ca looked at loss for words " Oh I''m sorry, I naturally assumed Doctor Johnson is a man " Then


    she smiled sheepishly.


    Doctor Johnson smiled " No it''s fine! Most people assumed the same thing until they met me so it''s


    fine. Have your seat, Miss... " She stopped and waited for Ca to help her out.


    " Ca, Mrs Ca ke " Ca corrected her with a smile and took a seat.


    The doctor''s eyes widened slightly but she was quick to hide her emotions unlike Laura who gushed


    over her. Ca was grateful to her for that.


    " Oh, the wife of the same Liam ke? " She asked, smiling.


    Ca smiled back " Yeah "


    " No wonder you look vaguely familiar, nice to meet you Mrs ke, I''m Edwina Johnson " The


    doctor introduced herself and Ca didn''t miss the fact that she removed her title. She had a feeling


    she would get along with the doctor.


    " The pleasure is all mine, Doctor Johnson " Ca replied back and took the hand Edwina offered.


    Edwina smiled and shook her head " Just call me Edwina, Mrs ke " She smiled.


    " Only if you''d do the same " Ca teased and theyughed.


    " Now, how may I help you, Ca? " Edwina asked, switching back to the business at hand.


    Ca sighed and went on to exin everything that has happened to her for the past few days.


    Edwina listened without interrupting her and took down some notes.


    " Well, I think we''d have to run some tests to confirm my suspicion, is that okay with you Ca? "


    Edwina said, standing up.
