Soon, it was the evening and the last class was over. “So, you won’t be joining for the practice, right?” Charles asked me. “Yeah.” I replied walking to the door with my bag on my one shoulder.
“Coach is going to kill you.” he said.
“Alright then, I’m going to his office.” I told Charles. Charles went in the opposite direction to the Volleyball court. I started walking towards Mr. Smiths office. It’s on the other block.
But man, that afternoon was a wild one. That bright light soon was in the headlines. It was soon tested to be just a star that appeared in the morning due to some unknown reason. But I swear it looked like it was moving towards us. As I was lost in my thought I bumped into a guy. We both fell.
He was wearing black spectacles, dark skin, thin frame, tucked-in shirt. He was your typical nerd if you call it. His ID card fell from his pocket. SEAN BLACKWELL. “I’m sorry, man” I said as I picked myself up and his ID card.
Blackwell?
“Watch where you’re going, idiot.” he said while taking his ID card and rushing off.
What a prick!
Soon I continued my journey and reached his office. Mr. Smith’s office was a small room. It was filled completely with books.
There isn’t even space to stand and there are two chairs in front of his table. I sat in one of them. He wasn’t in his office. I looked around office.
There is only name card on the table. SMITH BLACKWELL.

Blackwell?
After waiting for few minutes, he arrived and sat in his seat. “So, Mr. Alex this was the sixth time you’ve disrespected me in my class. I tolerated this until now because you’re son of my close friend. But now you shall face the consequences of your actions.” he said.
“So, what is it? Detention?” “Sure, and also your suspension for one week” he said while printing out my suspension letter. “Alright what the hell is suspension for? Making a joke?” “No, for disrespecting me in my class.” he said while signing on the suspension letter.
“You have no sense of humour.” I said taking the letter and standing up.
“Go to class 302. I’ll have a talk with your parents.” He said. “No need. I can tell them.” I replied. “Listen Alex, you are a bright student. You got a free scholarship for college. Your parents are so proud of you. Doing these kinds of things hurts them more than you think.”
“Stop talking.” I spoke.
What a liar.
“…Go to the detention centre.” he said.
I walked out of the room and started walking to the detention centre. What a load of crap. Proud of me? They were never. That guy…. He never even said congratulations for getting scholarship. They were never proud of me. They only thought of me as a burden. That one time when I was seven, I hear my mother talking to someone on the phone and she said she thought of me as a burden.
As I was lost in my thought I reached the detention centre. I spent my time there reading a book. Soon it was time for me to go home. Charles completed his practice and was waiting for me. “Let’s go” he said.
As we started walking soon, we were at an empty corridor. Most of the lights in the school were off. It’s almost 8pm. Most of the students and workers went home. There was only one person standing in the corridor. It was… that girl. From the morning.
She was standing looking at us. She was… scary looking. She slowly pointed her finger at Charles.
“I finally found you, our saviour.”
Their… saviour?
“What the hell are you talking about?” Charles asked her.
Yeah! Ask her! I’m scared so much.
She took her sword and gushed it in open hair.
Then suddenly there was a loud noise. It was the sound of an Earthquake. The birds resting on the school started flying away. Wind almost threw my bag away. A bright light blinded my eyes. Then when I opened them, what I saw looked like it was out of a comic book.
A portal. It looked like a tear in the air. A white light was creeping out of it.
“I need you to come with me.” She said to Charles.
“What the hell is happening?”
Then I suddenly I heard footsteps of three people. It was Emma, Mr. Smith and the kid I bumped into earlier. “What is this?” the kid asked. “What did you do Alex?” Mr. Smith asked.
“What did you do Alex?” Emma asked.
“Seriously? This guy was also here.” I said pointing to Charles. “Forget it! This girl is a witch!”
“What? Really?” All exclaimed.
“How the hell did you think this portal appeared here?” I spoke. “This is taking too long.” The witch said and suddenly Charles started floating. “HELP! HELP!” Charles shouted. He started floating towards the portal. I caught him in air and started pulling him back.
“I won’t let you” I said.
“If you don’t leave him. I’ll take you all” Witch said.
Suddenly, there was a huge wind and everyone was pushes into the portal and then the portal suddenly closed.
