Chapter 74 Put Rings On Each Other (Part One)

F City International Jewelry Exhibition had solemnlymenced at the exhibition center. State-level

jewelry experts were there to present free jewelry identification and consultations. The event was an

exhibition that included more than four hundred jewelrypanies from more than twenty countries

and regions. The activities included lottery draws, the gambling of stones, a jewelry show, a jewelry

auction, a jade carving selection, and others.

.As Fiona walked into the hall, she was immediately attracted to all the shining items.

The purchasing department headed to look for the jade stones, while Fiona gradually was separated

from the team. She found herself alone in front of the jewelries.

She saw a ring that was drawn to, with a six-point diamond on it. She couldn''t help herself; she had to

look it at a few more times.

The exhibition host approached Fiona, stood in front her and asked with a smile, "Hello miss, are you

    interested in this ring?"

Fiona straightened up and nodded slightly. "I saw the ring and I noticed that its shape is very unique. I

thought it should have a special meaning, that''s why I couldn''t help but look at it a few more times."

"I see. What do you think this ring means?" the staff asked her, enthusiastically.

Fiona thought about it, and then answered, "I think that it looks like a melted iceberg, which to me

would symbolize the arrival of spring. And spring represents the birth of love, doesn''t it? So I think this

should be a wedding ring? Does it symbolize true love?"

"Wow, you are so awesome! You are absolutely right!" the staff said to her excitedly. "Miss, you seem

to know so much about jewelry at such a young age."

"The designer of yourpany is very talented for having designed such a wonderful piece of work,"

Fiona praised. "I''ve been here for quite a while. I''m sorry to bother you."

"Of course not, not at all." The staff warmly took out a small velvet box from behind the disy stand.

"This is a gift for you. We actually have a pair of the rings. Well, these are only counterfeits. Please

    ept them."

As soon as she opened the box, Fiona saw two shining rings.

She happily took the rings and headed for another exhibition booth to find more knowledge and

inspiration. When she took the pair of rings, she couldn''t help but think of Spencer. ''Should I give the

man''s ring to him?'' she thought. ''Would it be too cheap? He is an arrogant man. He would probably

    despise me.''

For the whole day and a half that the event had taken ce, Fiona spent plenty of time wandering

around the exhibition center. She didn''t leave there until the day came when they had to go back to M

    City.

On their way back, Fiona was standing in the end of the crowd. She kept the distance between her and

    Charles as far as possible.

Nothing significant happened on the way. That was, not until they got on the ne, where Fiona found

Charles was assigned to the seat next to her. He had been in the business ss when he came to F

City, but why was he now in the economy ss all of a sudden?

While Fiona thought about this, Charles seemed to know what she was thinking. "There is no seat in

the business ss. It''s fully booked."

"No seats?" She raised her eyebrows in doubt. She thought that Charles could easily book a business

ss seat with his money. What he said just didn''t make sense.

"Don''t think too highly of me. There are many things that I can''t do as well," Charles tly said, as he

    fastened his seat belt.

Fiona couldn''t describe her feelings. Charles should know her thoughts. ''He is horrible!'' she thought.

Meanwhile, at the Four Seasons Scenery of M City

Spencer looked around the empty room, dressed in his leisure home wear.

After Fiona hung up the phone that day, she never contacted him again, so he was angry at her all the

time. But when he came back to their apartment, she had already gone to the jewelry show, and he no

longer had a chance to vent his anger on her.

Moreover, he felt sorry for himself as he recalled thatst night for dinner, he cooked instant noodles in

    the apartment, alone!

"Damn it." He kicked the chair over and strode over to the study. He switched on hisputer and

found the location of Fiona''s phone. "Let me see where you are now," he muttered to himself.

    On the screen of theputer,

there was a satellite map. A small red dot moved rapidly across the screen.

"Why is it moving so quickly?" A solemn expression appeared on his face. He zoomed out the map so

he had a wide view, and saw the red dot moving rapidly towards the direction of M City. After he

estimated the speed, he was delighted. ''Is Fiona on a ne? She ising back now?''

On the ne from F City to M City

"I''m curious about what kind of person you would fall in love with, Fiona," Charles said, out of the blue.

"Well, I didn''t expect you to care so much about the emotional life of your subordinate," Fiona mocked.

"I''m just concerned, that''s all. After all, you there is a chance you may be my sister-inw."

"What? You must be kidding, Mr. Wen." Fiona gazed at her hand, her face showing emotions of guilt

    and loneliness.

"The man you fall in love with must be excellent." With that, Charles closed his eyes again and said

    nothing more.

Fiona rxed and began to close her eyes to get some rest. Lately, Charles had been behaving a little

strange. She hoped that they would no longer have any contact in the future.

That afternoon, the ne steadilynded at the international airport of M City. From the airport, Fiona

took a bus to the station. She then took another bus to go back to the Four Seasons Scenery. The

strenuous trip made Fiona''s lower abdomen ache.

It was already dark when she arrived at the Four Seasons Scenery.

Fiona opened the door and walked into the apartment. As she was about to turn on the light, she heard

a calm male voice. "I thought you were noting back!"

"Ahhhh!" Fiona was stricken with shock. She leaned heavily against the wall, her heart pounding. She

followed the direction of the voice, and saw a figure standing at the door of the study. "Spencer?"

"What? Who else would it be?" Spencer then switched on the light of the living room.

When brightness flooded the room, Fiona blocked the dazzling light with her hand. After adapting to the

light, she looked at Spencer and asked, "What are you doing here? Didn''t you go back to the base

    today?"

"Wow. You just can''t wait to drive me away, can you?" The tall, strong man with a gloomy expression

    walked into the living room.

Fiona frowned and said, "I''m just asking. Please don''t understand me."

"Humph!" He looked her in the eye. Looking at her made him suddenly feel like he had just been

wronged. He had been waiting for her all afternoon. It was evening now, and he hadn''t even had dinner

    yet.

"Go and cook, Fiona. I''m starving!" Spencer looked away and snorted.

"Oh, you haven''t eaten yet?" Taken by surprise, Fiona put down her luggage. "Wait a minute. I''ll cook

for you now. What would you like to eat?"

"I never expected you too cook anything delicious. I''ll be satisfied, as long as I can fill my stomach with

    something," said Spencer, dismissively.

Fiona shrugged her shoulders, changed into her slippers, and then went into the kitchen. When she

entered the kitchen, she saw that it was in such a mess. There was a small pot on the stove, in the sink

she spotted disheveled tableware and an empty box of instant noodles, and there were leftovers on the

    table.
