Chapter 397 A Compulsory Offer


    When they came in, the three interviewers behind the desk stood up and asked at one voice,"Good


    morning, Mr. Xi. Is there anything we can do for you?"


    Marlon waved his hand at them to sit down and then turned to Rachel.


    "Where is your resume?" he asked while he stretched out his hand.


    "Here it is," Rachel replied reluctantly.


    She took her resume out of her bag and handed it over to Marlon.


    Marlon took it from her and gave it to the interviewers. Then he walked to a corner and pulled a chair to


    sit with his legs crossed.


    The three of them gathered around to go through Rachel''s resume, but they all frowned and looked at


    each other in speechless despair.


    It was toomon for them. Compared with the ones they had just interviewed, there was nothing in it

    "Why don''t you ask questions? The resume can''t talk, but people can. Ask her, if you have any

    The interviewer at left sat straight and coughed. He, then, asked the first question to Rachel.


    "Your name is Rachel Ruan, right? I saw the photo on your resume. It seems that you look different

    Rachel lowered her head and tried hard to hold her smile. She put the hair at the back of her ears and


    replied,"Oh, that. I believe that everyone wants to look prettier at their resume. Although I''m not good


    looking, I can bear hardships and stand hard works."


    The interviewer nodded and continued,"Based on your resume, you had been working at a sales

    The interviewer paused for a moment and asked,"Do you have any other special skills, Ms. Ruan? We


    got several positions that we need to fill in. We would like to know which one is more suitable to you."


    Since Mr. Xi referred her himself, it was a must that they give her a job. However, they had to consider


    which position they should give her and how to make Mr. Xi satisfied.


    Rachel kept quiet for a moment and thought of what she could say to get the job. She felt that she


    couldn''t let Marlon be out of her sight. Then she replied,"I used to work as chief of the sales group and I


    ran my ownpanyter."


    "Really? Why didn''t you write it in your resume?" the interviewer at right asked. The work experiences


    she just mentioned were important in finding a new job. But they found it strange that she didn''t include


    them in her resume.


    Marlon interrupted them again,"Why? Can''t she keep a low profile? I think we''re good here. Just give


    her an offer. As for her position, let''s discuss itter. I believe we can find a better position for her."


    The three interviewers nodded and said,"Right, right, we agree with you!"


    "Okay, then you got an offer here. Pleasee to work three days from now!"

    Rachel stood up and made a bow to them, saying,"Thank you for giving me this opportunity. I''ll make


    sure to work hard in return!"


    The offer to her was morepulsory than fair and reasonable, yet she had no choice but to ept it.


    It appeared to her that Marlon was not only good at exchanging his spare phone into cash but also


    skilled at securing advantages through his influence to get her a job.


    Rachel then left the interview room, and Marlon followed her.


    "Hey there! Why are you walking so fast? Shouldn''t you invite me to lunch since I''ve found a job for


    you?" he said aloud from her back.


    Rachel only stopped after she walked out of the building. "Yes, I should show my gratitude and invite


    you to have lunch with me. However, I have no money on me today and can''t afford any lunch."


    "Can''t afford? Okay, here is my idea. I''ll buy our lunch today. You can return it to me when you receive


    your sry next month!" Marlon said. He took out his key, walked to his car parked by the road, opened


    its door and said to Rachel,"Come on! What are you waiting for?"


    Rachel sighed and thought that she''d better go and have lunch with him because she didn''t have


    anything to eat in her ce.


    Besides, Marlon would be her boss soon. So she should try her best to get along with him. She


    thought, the better she knew him, the better it would be for her future work.


    They arrived at an exceptional looking restaurant by the side of the North Sea.


    The view around was great. People could hear the sound of waves nearby as well as the sound of


    seagulls from time to time. If they closed their eyes, they would feel as if they were on a boat in the


    sea. But they only found that they were sitting at a small restaurant at the beach.


    "Try this fish! It tastes delicious and only has a few thorns. Girls usually love it! Trust me!"


    Marlon said while cing a portion of the fish on her te.


    "Thank you. Just enjoy yourself. I can help myself with the food," Rachel said. She politely refused him


    to pick up more dishes for her.


    She could tell that Marlon was very used to bringing girls to the restaurant because he could say the


    name of each dish without even looking at the menu.


    What was more, he could describe the taste of each dish to her. This actually helped her decide on


    what to order. With him simply describing the food, Rachel could tell which dish she liked and which

    Rachel tasted the fish he rmended. To her surprise, it was indeed great. Although North Sea City


    was modest in size, the food and view there were unique and extraordinary.

    "Don''t bury yourself in the te right in front of you! Try the other two dishes. The sashimi tastes good,


    here!" Marlon said as he put a piece of sashimi on her te.

    She red at the woman and noticed that she was the one who kicked Marlon out of her car the other


    day.

    breath. She knew it was hard for Eve to listen to her exnation at the moment. So she took her bag


    from the chair, turned around and headed out of the restaurant.


    "Rachel, wait!" Marlon shouted from behind. There was nothing but the sea outside. He knew that it


    was a long way to the city. Rachel had no car or money to spare. It was impossible for her to walk


    back.


    Seeing him call Rachel back, Eve smiled coldly and grabbed Marlon''s cor, asking,"She told me that


    she had nothing to do with you, then why are you calling her name? Marlon, Marlon, how could I be so


    blind to stay in love with you?"


    Marlon got pissed off. He wiped her hand off, replying,"That''s right, I''m an asshole! Okay?! I don''t


    deserve your love! You''ve never treated me as your fiancé. I felt just like a toy of yours. Is this just
