The Strongest Transcendent In History Is The Strongest

    Chapter 2: Mystery

Kurokami gazed at me with a hint of skepticism and asked, “What’s so simple about that?”

I took a deep breath, maintaining my composure, and replied, “Well, it''s pretty obvious to me. All I did was engage my brain and think critically.”

Kurokami, still unconvinced, responded with further skepticism, “You make it sound much easier than it really is. If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that you’re definitely not an average student to achieve what you just did.”

I let out a resigned sigh before confirming, “Yeah, I suppose that’s true.”

Curious and a bit intrigued, Kurokami said, “So, what exactly is your plan now? I’d like to know.”

I looked at her with a calm expression and replied, “Well, you would want to know, wouldn’t you?”

Kurokami pressed, her impatience showing. “Just tell me already!”

I answered with a slight smile, “I guess my plan is to enjoy my school life and lead what many might consider a normal existence.”

Kurokami nodded slowly, her gaze assessing. “I see. And what do you intend to do once you’re out of school?”

I paused, a thoughtful look crossing my face, as I realized I didn’t have a concrete answer. “I don’t know… I hadn’t really thought about it until now.”

Kurokami shrugged in response, “Well, take your time then. It’s a big question after all.”

As my mind wandered over the possibilities, I found myself wondering, what is it that I truly want to do after school?

Suddenly, I heard Shinpii call on me with authority. “Saikyō! Can you explain what happens when you combine one type of magic with another?”

Snapped back to reality, I straightened up in my seat and replied, “Uh, yes, sir. When you combine two different magics, they often merge to create something new, like combustion magic. That happens because the heat generated from the magical energies will lead to a chemical reaction, resulting in an explosion, correct?”

To my surprise, Shinpii nodded and acknowledged my response. “I haven’t even taught you that yet, but yes, that is absolutely correct. Excellent work, Saikyō. You may take your seat.”

I responded with a blank expression, “Yes, sir,” and then made my way back to my seat.

Kurokami was observing me with renewed interest, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.

Sighing, I turned to her and calmly asked, “What now?”

She leaned in, her intrigue palpable as she said, “You’ve really captured my attention now, Saikyō.”

“What about?” I replied nonchalantly, trying to play it cool.

Kurokami inched closer, excitement etched on her face as she asked, “How did you know about that? It’s only your first day, and yet you’re already familiar with combustion magic.”

I felt a wave of nervousness wash over me, causing me to lean back slightly. “Oh, well, you see…” I stammered, searching for the right words.

But Kurokami was not deterred; she leaned in even closer, her eyes wide with anticipation. “Can you please tell me?” she asked, her curiosity growing.

Before I could answer, Shinpii interjected, a casual reminder ringing in the air. “Hey, no talking in class! You both can save your chatter for another time.”

Kurokami and I exchanged glances and then, in unison, nodded while responding, “Yes, sir.”

Fast-forward to lunchtime, and I found myself settled at a table in the bustling cafeteria, enjoying my meal. Just then, Kurokami approached me again, her expression a mixture of determination and excitement. “So, about that conversation we had earlier,” she began, “I would like to continue it, if possible.”

I looked up from my lunch, sensing the earnestness in her tone. “I see. Very well,” I replied calmly.

Kurokami leaned in, her eyes sparkling with curiosity as she asked, “So can you tell me now?”
