Chapter 595 A Big Gamble

    Chapter 595 A Big Gamble

The hubbub that filled the hall died down almost instantly the moment Terence arrived.

All eyes from across the room were watching him as he walked in.

Some people quickly sprung up from their seats to offer them to him.

"You''re here, Mr. Terence. Feel free to take my seat if you want," a man ingratiated himself. "You can

have mine if you would like to, Mr. Terence."

"Perhaps you''d like to take my seat?" another man politely said, "I''ve actually got a great seat and I''ve

been winning today!" he went on and added.

"What are you trying to imply? Are you saying that Mr. Terence is someone who''s afraid to lose?"

another man was so quick to point a finger.

"No! I never said anything like that. I only meant well," the former said, trying to make it clear.

As these people were having arguments, Terence scanned the hall awhile, obviously looking for

someone, until his eyes became fixated in a corner where a woman was sitting.

Now that he finally found her, his eyebrows had gotten knitted. At that moment, she was sporting a pair

of unfashionable sses with a ck frame, which concealed her beauty and made her appear like

    such a in woman.

Then, he strode toward her right away.

Shifting her sses upward out of frustration, Ca threw her cards onto the table.

However, just as she was about to hand over her seat to Terence, the manager of the casino who had

a ck suit on suddenly appeared and was smiling from ear to ear.

"Good afternoon, Mr. Terence. I''m d you coulde. We''re happy to have you here. We have a

suite reserved upstairs just for you. If you would please follow me to your room?" the manager politely

said after giving Terence a warm wee.

Without saying a word, Terence simply nodded his head in response. Then, as a smile crept onto his

face, he reached out his hand toward his wife.

With her eyes glued to his captivating smile, it took a second before she gave her hand to him.

Then, with a wave of her hand, she gestured toward Violet to follow them.

"Kaylee, will you being as well?"

From out of the blue, Terence politely asked the woman in a mandarin gown.

At this point, the woman was visibly looking at Ca from head to toe as she got up from her seat.

"How silly of me! I didn''t even realize this is your wife, Terence," she remarked, wearing quite a warm

    smile on her face.

"I see you''ve already met. Ca, this is Kaylee. Father''s friend,"

Terence said, formally introducing the woman to Ca.

Ca could more or less guess right away that this woman was probably Edmund''s lover.

Terence''te mother had already been gone for a number of years. So, it shouldn''t be surprising for

Edmund to be seeing another woman.

That being said, Ca wasn''t really expecting toe across her in a rather inappropriate ce.

After that, Terence headed toward the stairs while holding Ca''s hand.

Violet was about to follow behind them as well. However, she was stopped in her tracks by something

all of a sudden. When she turned to check who it was, she saw that it was William who had his arms

    wrapped around her waist.

"Violet!" he called her name, sounding so delighted.

"What are you doing here?" Violet asked, feeling somewhat surprised.

"I actually came here with Terence. But I bumped into a friend of mine and chatted with him for a while,

so I got held up a bit," William answered.

"Where''s my son?" he immediately asked.

"I left him to y with Sally in Ca''s house. I''ll be picking him up first thing tomorrow morning," Violet

replied. "What? Do you have any objections?" she hurled at him upon noticing the look of

disappointment on William''s face. "You don''t get to say anything. He''s my son, so I have the right to

    decide," Violet protested.

As soon as she was done talking, she walked away without even giving him a chance to respond

    whatsoever.

As far as Violet was concerned, there was nothing wrong with Cody staying at the Seaview Vi. After

all, there were lots of servants who could look after him while she was away. In any case, the kid had

already gotten used to it as well.

While they were having that conversation, Ca and Terence had already reached the top floor.

As soon as she stepped into the deluxe suite, it felt as though she was in a scene out of the Hong Kong

movies which she used to watch when she was younger.

Meanwhile, Terence and his friends proceeded to take their seats. Kaylee was with them as well. It was

in to see that she was already used to attending such social activities.

Soon enough, Violet came up to the room, with William walking closely behind her.

"Perhaps it would be better to just continue ying the game we were ying downstairs. I think it

would be much easier now that there are quite a few of us here,"

Kaylee suggested after everyone had settled down.

"That should be fine," Terence replied. Then, he turned to look at Ca and asked, "Would you like to

    join us?"

In an instant, Ca waved her hand and turned down his invitation. "No! I''m not good at those kinds of

games. You should just go on without me!"

"There''s nothing for you to worry about! I''m here. I promise I''ll take good care of you," Terence said,

wanting to get her to ease up a little.

"And you don''t have to wear these strange sses up here," he poked fun at her as he tapped her

    sses with his finger.

There weren''t that many people staying in the room, so she didn''t need the disguise anymore.

"Is this your wife, Mr. Terence? Just look how close you two lovebirds are! There''s no way we can just

    blindly believe those rumors,"

a man of about forty to fifty sitting from across the tablemented as he took a nce at Ca.

"Those people are probably just jealous of your rtionship, so they purposefully spread those

    baseless rumors about you,"

another middle-aged man added in agreement.

Terence simply chuckled without humoring them with a response. It was apparent that he didn''t really

give a damn about those rumors at all.

After a couple of minutes, the attendant came and brought the chips over.

This turned out being quite the eye-opener for Ca, as she suddenly came to realize what a big

    gamble really was.

Inparison to what was in front of her at that moment, the game they were ying downstairs felt

like it was just some sort of a warm-up.

Millions of dors looked as though they were merely a bunch of numbers to these people.

Upon getting the chips, Terence began to leisurely stack them in front of him over and over again.

Unfortunately for Ca, bad luck seemed to be haunting her like a gue, and she kept on losing

money round after round, leaving her no choice but to take the role of the dealer.

Feeling so worked up, she bit her finger and had her eyebrows deeply knit.

Grabbing a hold of her hand, Terence pressed it firmly against the palm of his hand and asked, "Are

    C0pyright ? 2024 N?v)(elDrama.Org.

you alright? Just take it easy, okay? Try to rx.

We''re not going to lose. Trust me on this! And besides, you''re my wife. So, you don''t have to worry

    about losing money whatsoever!"

Upon telling her that, he leaned in a little bit closer and kissed the back of her hand.

That seemed to have worked like a charm, because Ca actually felt somewhat relieved after hearing

    him say that.

No one could possibly remainposed in a situation such as this one without having a good

mentality, not to mention good financial capabilities.

At longst, luck was back on Ca''s side, and she was able to win double in just a single round.

Be that as it might, everyone else thought that she simply had a stroke of luck this time and it would

probably go against her on the next round, so they all thought of betting more.

Sadly for them, things didn''t go as they expected it would. She actually managed to win twice in a row!

This made her feel so thrilled that she couldn''t help but give Terence a great big hug.

Now, she was able to proudly hold her head up high as she collected all the money she had just won.

Patting her chest due to so much exhration, she could now finally let out a sigh of relief.

That being said, she vowed never to get involved in such big gambles like this ever again.

    It was almost midnight

by the time they walked out of the gambling house.

William went ahead and drove Violet home.

On the other hand, Terence and Ca decided to grab some midnight snacks with his friends before

heading back to the Seaview Vi.

"Honey, I think you should pay father a visit tomorrow," Terence said after getting home and taking a

shower. "The day of ancestor worship that''s held once every three years is about toe, and father

wants you to be the one to take care of it."

    "What? Me again?"

Ca didn''t seem to be looking forward to it when she heard this news, so she curled her lips. Thest

time Rhys got married, she also had to take care of everything, which left her feeling so worn out in the

    end.

Seeing the look on her face, Terence softly smiled at her and rested the palm of his hands against her

shoulders. Then, he said, "I promise it''s going to be different this time around. Ancestor worship has a

fixed process anyway. You just have to follow a few simple rules. Everything''s going to be a breeze."

"That''s exactly what you told mest time,"

    Ca grumbled.

"Well, I mean it this time,"

he said, putting on quite a convincing smile to give her a sense of assurance.
