Chapter 342 Heart Transplant Surgery

    Chapter 342 Heart Transnt Surgery

It was almost time to leave. Ca stood up and bade goodbye to Nichs. Walking out of the ward,

she decided that she should return to HA City.

She must go back and take up the post as soon as possible. The situation was critical and every day

    mattered.

Terence was right. Although he could afford to wait, Nichs might be unable to.

She wouldn''t forgive herself if Nichs died with regrets regardless of how Terence nned to soothe

    her if that really happened.

Just as Ca stepped into the elevator, Terence came out from the other one and headed toward

    Nichs''s ward.

As a result, they missed each other in the blink of an eye.

Ca went downstairs and hurried to take a taxi. She headed straight to Sean''s school.

In the ward, Nichs sensed some movements outside the door.

He thought Ca had forgotten something and thus returned.

"Ca, is that you? Have you forgotten anything?

If you don''t mind, stay with me for a little longer," he babbled as every old man would. That was when

the doorpletely opened and Terence came in.

"Oh, it''s you. I thought Ca hadn''t gone yet," Nichs said with mild disappointment.

Terence noticed the flowers and supplements on the table as he approached the old man. Those made

him instantly understand why his grandfather mentioned Ca.

"Has she been here?" he asked casually.

"Yes, who else do you think would make your grandpa so happy except her?" Nichs nodded. He

was obviously flooded with joy. He was still smiling like a child when he added, "She just left. Didn''t you

    see her?"

Terence pulled a chair and sat by the bedside. Grabbing the kettle on the table and pouring some water

into a cup, he just simply replied, "No." He then handed the water to Nichs.

"Oh, thanks! Aren''t you guys seeing each othertely?" Nichs asked in surprise as he took the cup.

Terence didn''t say anything about it. Rather, he turned the conversation away from the topic and asked

back, "Have you made any decisions yet about your heart surgery, Grandpa?"

A deep sigh escaped Nichs''s chest upon hearing about his health. He gave a feeble wave with his

hand before saying, "As I''ve said many times before, I''m too old to have such a big surgery.

This heart has been serving me all my life. It''s a part of me. I don''t think I can afford to rece it."

"So you are saying that you don''t want to see your future great-grandson?" A grin crept on Terence''s

    lips as he spoke.

"No, I didn''t mean that! Of course, I want to see my great-grandson. But still I''m too old to suffer too

much. Who knows, I might even live longer without an operation. Getting that operation isn''t a

guarantee. In case it fails, then it would be myst day." Nichs''s misery was clear on his face.

Little did anyone know that he had his concerns too. He was afraid to die and it would take great

strength from him to consider such risks.

"But the doctor said that you might not make it through this winter if you don''t have this surgery. Give

me a clue on how I can make you a great-grandson in such a short time?" Terence teased as he tried

to lighten up his grandpa''s mood.

He peeled a banana and handed it to him. "The surgery would give you three to five years more if it

turned out sessful. I promise that you will see your great-grandson by then.

Think about it, Grandpa," he persuaded.

Meanwhile, Ca arrived at Sean''s school.

She picked him up as soon as the school was over in the afternoon.

    "How''s it goingtely?

Are you getting along with your friends? Is there anyone who is bullying you?"

Ca asked Sean while they were eating in a restaurant. She was busy peeling shrimps for him.

"It was good. I''ve been studying here for so long that nobody would dare to bully me." Sean took one of

the shrimps Ca prepared and chewed it.

His rtionship with Terence wasn''t a secret to anyone. Thus, all the other students in the school

    naturally showed him great respect.

cing another shrimp on Sean''s te, Ca said regretfully, "I''m sorry to hear that Terence sent you

    to board at school."

Sean paused and looked up from his food. He then corrected, "It''s me who asked to live in school, not

Terence. He didn''t force me to."

    "What? What do you mean?"

Blinking in surprise, Ca struggled a bit in understanding the boy. Why would Sean ask to live in

school? That was weird. Out of curiosity, she asked, "But why?"

"Well, you are not here living with me, and he is always busy and absent from home. He didn''t really

have much time for me. I felt a bit lonely at home. I had to get up an hour earlier just to get to school

every day. So, I asked him to get me a ce in the school. I need more time to sleep in the morning.

Plus, I also need friends to y with. That''s all the story,"

Sean exined patiently as if he was already an adult.

This was totally a surprise for Ca. She had never expected that studying in a boarding school was

    this little boy''s idea.

Perhaps, her little brother Sean had matured while she wasn''t around.

She was suddenly feeling guilty of ming Terence unjustly earlier.

"Sean, what about this? Do you mind transferring to another school in HA City? I''ll be working there for

a while and I know a good school nearby. You can stay with me every day once we''re there,"

    Ca carefully probed.

However, Sean instantly shook his head and refused her suggestion. "Nah. I like this school. I''ve made

lots of good friends here and I don''t want to leave them.

If you really want to stay with me, I could move out of the school and live with you after you are done

with your work there ande back here."

Being left with no choice but topromise, Ca let out a deep sigh. "As you wish. You are not a little

boy anymore, and I''m now allowing you to decide for yourself."

Silence fell between the two as they continued to have the meal. It was a few minutester when Sean

looked at Ca out of nowhere and asked, "So, is it over between you and Terence?"

"What?" Ca was taken aback by the child''s abrupt question. Her face instantly turned red as she bit

her lower lip. She then slowly leaned towards him and asked seriously, "Who said that, little boy? Don''t

    you dare to babble."

"But I''ve heard that you are engaged to another man! So I was thinking, you don''t like Terence

anymore. Thus, you''ve kicked him away!" Sean blinked his eyes while looking at her disdainfully.

Ca snorted. Then without further ado, she reached out to hit the child''s forehead.

"That''s nonsense! Am I that kind of person?"

"Well, I''m d to hear that. Otherwise, I''ll disown you!"

Sean blurted before putting his attention back to his food.

However, Ca had already lost her appetite. Her mind was reeling nonstop. ''Where on earth did Sean

get that idea? Who told him those things?''

After dinner, Ca sent Sean back to school.

Later, she hurried to grab a taxi and headed back to HA City.

It was almost midnight when she arrived home.

"Oh my! You''re finally home, Miss Ca." N came over to her as soon as Ca opened the door.

Then the maid added, "Mrs. Andrea and Mr. Noah are worried about you."

Ca immediately changed her shoes while on the doorway.

She walked inside while saying, "I''m sorry, N. I just went out to visit my brother. I was rushing back

    after seeing him."

Ca was already heading upstairs when she asked again, "Is my mother here?"

"No, she isn''t. But she would be here tomorrow. You should rx before you two meet. Mr. Noah has

been looking for you these past few days. He is upstairs right now and in a really bad mood."

N looked a bit anxious as she looked at her.

"Thank you, N. It''s alreadyte. You can go and sleep."

Continuing her steps, Ca shook her head slightly as she thought, ''Cheers, Ca. You can''t hide from

    what''s been doomed, huh?''
