Chapter 353 Revenge

    Chapter 353 Revenge

Zed realized that Jean was doing just fine without hispany.

When Jean noticed Zed''s arrival, she couldn''t help so she stretched her neck to look behind him.

Shockingly, she found that no one was following him. So she went close and asked in great

puzzlement,"Where is Jesse? Just now you both were together, but where is she now?"

"Jesse?" Zed seemed to be puzzled and said,"Maybe she is a little behind me."

As he finished his words, Jean watched Jesse arriving and pushing the door open. From her

expression, Jean detected she wasn''t in a good mood.

"Jesse, what''s wrong with you? Are you feeling ufortable?" When seeing the unnatural expression

on his granddaughter''s face, Dan immediately worried about her and asked with great concern.

"I am fine," Jesse replied, in a hurry and changed her facial expression putting on a happy face. She

then said,"Maybe it is because I have not done any sports activity recently. So I feel a little tired now."

This seemed like a reasonable exnation that everyone would buy without further queries.

But Jean passed Jesse a suspicious look and then shifted her nce to Zed.

Zed raised his eyebrows and looked at Jean perplexedly.

Slowly, Jean walked to Zed, then sat down and slightly shook her head to him.

Rich and inviting dishes were set and presented before them. Facing such delicious and beautifully-

cooked vegetable dishes, Benjamin and Don, the two seniors who thought highly of health protection,

immediately cheered up. Their eyes were rather bright and soon they began to relish the food with a

    good appetite.

Zed and Jean had rarely apanied the two elders to eat vegetable dishes before, so they also had

    aparatively good appetite.

Only Jesse felt it was rather hard to swallow the food. And the vegetable dishes in front of her

remained untouched. She didn''t eat anything instead stared at a direction with her eyes wandering

freely. With no control over her eyes, Jesse''s eyes started to wander aimlessly.

After giving a good treat to their stomach, the two elders came out looking happier. They then happily

devoured a superior kind of green tea offered by the Safwan Restaurant.

Benjamin was drinking the tea when he observed that Jean was taking good care of him and Dan.

Moreover, she looked sincere and happy to be by their side. He felt his earlier opinion change and then

gently said,"Stop bothering yourself serving us, sit down and have a rest yourself. You must be tired."

His voice startled Jean and his words took some time to sink in. Secondster, she seemed toe to

her sense and nodded her head in surprise. Her worried tone became much lighter as she said

    happily,"Yes, grandpa."

After she finished her words, she walked directly to Zed and sat beside him enjoying the fresh fruit.

Jesse noticed Jean approach and she suddenly lost the desire to have fruits. She threw away the fork

and turned to look at Zed before saying,"Zed, are you leaving for thepany in the afternoon?"

"Well. What''s the matter?" Zed asked while he fed Jean a piece of fruit.

Jesse bit her lips a little and seemed to be ashamed of speaking it out,"I have some other things to

deal with this afternoon. So I cannot apany our grandfathers. Can you apany them to visit

    somewhere else here?"

"Of course I can!" Zed said trying to put her at ease. "You just go on and do your business."

"Ok then. I am going to tell them both about it now." Finishing her words, Jesse quickly sprinted

towards Benjamin and Dan, not wanting to spend a second watching Jean and Zed.

Jean sat near Zed and watched Jesse exin to the two elders with her gentle and sweet voice. She

drew back her sight and looked at Zed with seriousness. Doubtfully, Jean asked,"Jesse doesn''t even

have friends here. So what is she going to do?"

"She said that she has something to do and I don''t think it is nice to question her about her personal

matters," replied Zed, while he frowned a little at Jean''s curiosity. Keeping the fruits aside, he turned

and looked at Jean before he spoke,"I now feel that you are more willing to stay with her than to stay

with me. Do you want me to leave?"

His words made her roll her eyes. In a casual tone, she said,"I just feel strange that she is leaving so

suddenly. I mean she didn''t mention this duty earlier. Why did my presence make her want to leave?

Zed, do you think she is leaving because of me? Don''t you feel she hates being near me?"

"You are thinking too much," Zed replied stretching his hand to touch her beautiful hair. "Well, stop

woolgathering. Ok? Treat yourself and have fruits. You look very tired."

Saying this, Zed picked another piece of fruit and fed Jean lovingly.

Jean had no other choices but to swallow it.

Jesse had already finished telling the two elders her reason to leave. When she was about to greet Zed

before she left, she noticed the couple acting so intimately. All of a sudden, she stopped at where she

    was.

"Zed..." Not moving much closer, she put a fake smile on her face and spoke,"Zed, take care of

grandfathers because I am going to leave now."

"Ok." Zed nodded and then continued to say with great concerns,"Take care of yourself too."

"I will. See youter." Jesse waved her hand to say goodbye to him. And she didn''t even nce at

Jean''s direction. ''She doesn''t even consider me worthy of her notice, '' thought Jean.

As Jean was ignored totally by Jesse, she decided she didn''t have to give her any importance either.

"Goodbye..." Finally, Zed noticed how Jesse hadpletely ignored Jean. When Jesse was out of

sight, he leaned closer to Jean and said,"Jean, what just happened between you and Jesse?"

"I don''t know," replied Jean looking really puzzled and confused. After a little hesitation, she

continued,"A couple of hours ago, I called her when I failed to find grandfathers. I gave her several

calls but she didn''t receive even one of them. I was really anxious at that time. When I spotted them

and Grandpa Benjamin, maybe it embarrassed her."

"Did she give you an exnation for not having received your calls?" Zed asked, looking doubtful and

    anxious.

"She said it was because she didn''t hear my call," Jean replied, in a helpless and defeated tone.

"Maybe she indeed didn''t hear the ring. Let us forget this matter. Free yourself and your thoughts.

Please rx and take it easy." Hearing what Jean said, Zed nodded and tried tofort her.

Jean felt quite angry listening to his answers. She angrily turned to him and said,"Zed, I am wondering

that no matter what Jesse says or does, you will blindly believe her, right? I don''t stand a chance!"

"What are you talking about? Did she have a reason lie to you?" Zed felt a little funny to see Jean''s

angry face and said,"Jean, think more before you use her. She spent the whole morning

apanying grandfathers. So it is understandable for her to be busy and miss your calls. Or maybe

in order to look after grandfathers well, she had silenced the phone. Doesn''t that sound possible? So

let it go and stop tiring yourself with these unwanted thoughts."

"If she really had silenced her phone then why didn''t she exin it herself when I questioned her? More

importantly, I noticed that she was flurried at that time. Believe it or not, at least I don''t believe that she

    didn''t hear my calls...."

Jean had not expected to linger over this matter because she had finally made it. Jesse''s ignorance

didn''t hurt her because she had found them without Jesse''s help. In short, whether Jesse had not

answered the phone on purpose or not wasn''t her concern.

''I finally made it and the day went good, '' Jean thought when she heard Granpa Benjamin talk to her

    nicely.

However, Jean''s thoughts had changed totally when she got to know how firmly Zed believed Jesse.

Her heart ached and she felt rather ufortable.

What was worse, Zed had made various excuses for Jesse and this infuriated her even more. Jean felt

that there was a zing fire inside her heart and it almost ruined her.

"Jean..." Zed saw Jean had be extremely aggressive so he frowned at once. He said with an

unpleasant tone,"This is just a small matter. But you just keep on bothering yourself with it. Are you

happy with what you have done?"

"You..." Jean nced at Zed with her red and angry eyes, her chest kept rising and falling. One look at

her and one would understand that she was trying hard to hold back her anger.

Jean sneered at herself inside her heart, ''Am I happy with all I have done?

No, of course, I am not.

But as long as I see you protect and speak for her like that, I cannot bear it! I am feeling rather terrible

    now.''

"Zed, as far as you are concerned, it is a small issue. Maybe it is not even worth mentioning. Yes, you

are right. Yes." Jean looked into Zed''s eyes seriously and continued,"It suddenly urs to me that I

must go to visit Moore in the hospital. And I remember that I mentioned it to youst night. So you must

apany grandfathers in the afternoon. Good luck with that and hope you will have a good time."

Jean finished this and threw him a cold look. Then she walked towards where Benjamin was seated.

Zed could do nothing so he helplessly watched Jean talk to Benjamin.
