    Rupert felt himself growing angry as he punched the couch. Although he hadn''t lost his rationality,


    he could feel his nerves were on the verge of snapping.


    "Damn it! These bosses are absolute b*stards!" He cursed under his breath as he dialed the


    numbers of some lower-ranking subordinates while continuing to mutter to himself, "I can''t f*cking


    believe it. Even these small fries won''t answer my calls!"


    Beep. Beep. Beep... "Hello?" Finally, the call went through!


    Rupert asked hoarsely, "Terry, what have you been busy withtely?"


    "M-Mr. Shapiro?" The person on the other end of the line sounded puzzled. "Mr. Shapiro, why did


    you suddenly call me?"


    "Damn it! Your boss hasn''t been answering my calls!" Rupert eximed in a fit of fury.


    Terry''s tone became peculiar as he replied, "Mr. Shapiro, don''t you know? Our boss has been


    captured and it seems he''s been sentenced to death."


    Rupert was stunned for a moment before uttering in disbelief, "What happened? How did he get


    captured out of nowhere?"


    "During the recent bosses'' meeting, someone leaked some information to the police," Terry


    exined. "Except for a few individuals, everyone else present was arrested! Thankfully, Boss


    Jarett stepped in to stabilize the situation and prevented widespread turmoil in the underworld.


    However, our gang has now fallen under the control of Mr. Howe and is affiliated with the ck


    Boxer Gang! If you need assistance, Mr. Shapiro, I can only help you reach out to Mr. Howe!"


    "W-What?" Rupert''s facial muscles twitched. "You''re now a member of the ck Boxer Gang?"


    He vividly remembered that Baron was on Kingsley''s side during the underworld meeting! This was


    something that Baron absolutely couldn''t find out!


    Rupert was deep in thought as he lit a cigarette, furrowing his brow as he contemted the


    significant shifts urring in the underworld. If he haphazardly sought assistance, he would risk


    colliding with the forces of Kingsley and Baron!


    After careful consideration, a sudden realization dawned upon him.


    He thought of someone who could provide him with manpower and would never aid Kingsley—


    Cain!


    Cain, who happened to be Jarett''s nephew, undoubtedly had a substantial number of subordinates


    under him. Furthermore, rumors had it that he had suffered injuries inflicted by Kingsley during their


    encounter at the golf estate. So, if Rupert could locate Cain, there was no doubt that the man would


    join forces with him to confront Kingsley!


    Now that Rupert had this n in mind, he promptly reached for his phone and acquired Cain''s


    number through a few subordinate acquaintances.


    Meanwhile, Cain wasnguidly basking in the warm sunlight in his yard. He was badly beaten by


    Wendell at the entrance of the golf estate and sent to the hospital where he promptly received


    medical treatment. It was fortunate that the injuries were not too severe, so he managed to avoid


    the need for chest surgery. Nevertheless, he had to stay in the hospital for several days for


    observation and was only discharged the day before.

    Cain coughed while holding his aching chest and cursing, "Damn it! The aftermath I have to suffer


    because of that punk. I''ll settle the score with him sooner orter!"


    In the midst of it all, Rupert came a-calling.


    As Rupert exined the situation, Cain didn''t hesitate for a second before immediately responding,


    "No problem, I have around twenty subordinates who can assist. It''s more than sufficient to handle a


    mere girl!"


    "Excellent! Let''s discuss this matter further when we meet up tomorrow!"

    "The project with Coliree Group has officiallyunched," Reene said wearily, massaging her


    temples. "Mr. Parker mentioned that state-owned brands are riding the wave and going all in, so I


    have to make the most of my time!"
