Chapter 238 Signing A Contract(Part One)
In the afternoon, after she finished work, Cherry went to the school to pick up her son. When she saw
Joe walking out of the school gates, she quickly got out of the car to greet her son.
Joe was very happy to see his mother, and he rushed towards Cherry the moment that he saw her.

"Mommy, Mommy, I''m so happy that you have time to pick me up!" said Joe, while holding his mother''s
hand.
"I got off work early today, so I came to pick you up, " said Cherry, with a big smile on her face. Joe was
her sunshine, who always warmed her heart no matter what.
"That''s nice! Mommy, let''s go home now!" said Joe cheerfully.
"Okay, hop in the car and let''s go home!"
When Cherry arrived home, Lily had just prepared their dinner. When she saw that Cherry and Joe
arrived, she politely said, "Madam, young master, dinner is ready! Shall I put the dishes on the table
now?"
"Is my Daddy home?" asked Joe, while he put down his schoolbag.
Cherry looked at her son, and said to him in a tender voice, "Your Daddy has something important to
do in the barracks, so he may not have time toe home this evening. We don''t need to wait for him,
let''s eat."
After she said that, Cherry turned to Lily who was standing beside her, and said, "Yes, serve the food
now."
"Okay."
After dinner, Joe went to his room to do his homework and Cherry sat in the living room and watched
TV alone.
Suddenly, the phone rang. She knew that the call was from Jackson, and Cherry answered it
immediately.
"Hello!" said Cherry.
"Hi, baby! Are you asleep?" Jackson''s tender voice sounded clearly in her ear.
"Not yet, I was watching TV in the living room, " replied Cherry. She felt happy hearing Jackson''s voice.
"Where''s our son?" asked Jackson.
"He''s upstairs doing his homework, " replied Cherry.
"I see, " said Jackson. "I''m noting back home tonight."
"Okay. It''s already toote now anyway, and if you drive back home at thiste hour I''ll be anyway
worried sick about you on your way back, " said Cherry.
"Do you miss me?" asked Jackson, in a spoiled tone.
Cherry paused for a moment to adjust her mood, but she still didn''t know how to answer Jackson''s
question.
Not hearing Cherry''s answer, Jackson cried, "Baby!"
"Yes, I''m still here!" replied Cherry in a low voice.
"How I wish I were there with you now!" said Jackson.
Jackson''s words touched and warmed Cherry''s heart. She could feel his sincere emotion.
"Honey, I''ll be here waiting for you; I''ll always be by your side!" said Cherry emotionally.
"Okay! Wait for me!" said Jackson. His voice was very tender, and he continued to say, "Don''t forget to
cover yourself with the nket in the evening, so you don''t catch a cold!"
"I will, " asnwered Cherry.
After she hung up, Cherry was still holding the phone tight in her hand. She was somehow lost, and
didn''te back to the present moment only after a while. After she snapped out of her trance, she
turned off the TV and walked upstairs.
When she arrived at her son''s door, she knocked on it gently and then pushed it open when she saw
that she got no reply. She saw that Joe was in bed and that he had already fallen asleep.
Cherry tucked him in and then silently walked out of his room.
After she went back to her own bedroom, Cherry tried every means to fall asleep, but she couldn''t; her
mind was stuffed with all sorts of things about Jackson. She felt very lonely without Jackson beside her,
and then she suddenly wondered if Jackson had also felt the same without her at his side during the
past five years. Had he also been insomniac?
The next morning, as usual, Cherry woke her son, had breakfast with him, and then drove him to
school.
Work time was about to start when she arrived at JS Building. Cherry quickly walked into the building,
entered her own office, and started to work.
She was very busy all morningmunicating with the Vice President and organizing meetings with
various division heads, and it was not until lunch time that she finally finished all of her work. When she
sat on her chair in the conference room, Cherry felt fulfilled, because she liked the business life, and
also became more confident to do her job better.
Selina then pushed the conference room''s door open and walked inside.
"Cherry, is everything ready?" asked Selina, walking towards Cherry.
"Yes, I just finished, " replied Cherry while she smiled at Selina.
Selina then looked at her wristwatch, and said, "Anyway, it''s time for lunch now. Let''s go out and eat
together, I have something to tell you."
"Okay, " said Cherry and nodded. She then picked up her files from the table and left the conference
room with Selina.
They chose a western restaurant, located just opposite to the JS Group''s building. After they sat down
and their food arrived, they happily chatted with one another while they ate their lunch.
"Selina, you said that you had something to tell me; what was it?" asked Cherry.
Selina looked into Cherry''s eyes, and in a serious tone, said, "I got a phone call from a client this
morning, and he said that he wanted to talk with you about a contract this afternoon."
"With me?" replied Cherry. She was obviously astonished and couldn''t believe her ears that a client
wanted to specifically talk to her. She asked, "Who''s the client?"
"Shawn Shao, the general manager of an advertisingpany, " said Selina. "Have you ever met him
before?"
Cherry tried to remember this man in her mind, but nothing coulde up.
Cherry shook her head, and said, "No."
Selina was also a little confused. She said, "But why did he ask for you to meet him then? Maybe
because you''re the Group''s Sales Director?"
Cherry thought for a while and also thought that it was very likely because of that. She then looked at
Selina, and said, "Never mind about it. I''ll go and talk about the contract with him this afternoon."
