Chapter 237 Don''t Hurt Her
Cherry thought for a while, and then said to Selina, "It''s okay, I''ll exin it to him if he asks about it."
"But, I''m afraid that he''ll get angry! I don''t want your rtionship to be affected by your work!" replied
Selina.
"Don''t worry, everything will be fine. I''ll only say a few words to Stephen and then leave. It''s nothing
serious, " said Cherry. She thought, ''If Jackson will be angry with me, then I''ll also get mad at him.''
Selina pondered everything for a moment and eventually nodded her head.
Afterwards, Cherry left Selina''s office and took the elevator downstairs, and then left the JS Group.
She drove her car to Stephen''s club, but she didn''t call him to inform him about her arrival.
After she arrived at the club, she got out of her car and then went straight inside. There weren''t any
customers at that time of the day, and the waiters were just cleaning the ce. Cherry didn''t talk to
anyone, and instead immediately strode towards Stephen''s office.
When she arrived at Stephen''s office, she gently knocked on the door, but got no reply.
Cherry waited for a while, and then knocked again. She heard a vague voiceing from inside of it
that said, "Come in..."
She then opened the door and entered the office, but she didn''t see Stephen inside; instead, she saw
only a stranger there.
Cherry looked at the young man who was sitting on the sofa not far away from her. He had a golden
brown short hair in a fashionable style that was prevailing throughout the city. He wore casual clothes,
and had an attractive appearance, with sparkling eyes, pretty lips, a delicate childish face that seemed
to never grow old, and his warm and pleasant disposition resembled the sunlight. If Jackson was

Mond Xu stared at the woman in front of him. He had seen her before in photos, but he had never
clearly observed her as he did now when she was standing in front of him. As he focused his eyes on
her, he felt that he couldn''t think about anything else but her. She was as pure as a young maiden, and
nobody would have ever imagined that she was already a mother. She hadn''t been very attractive at
the first sight, but her fair appearance with her light make-up was a refreshing and sweet sight toy
eyes upon. Both her slim body and her quiet disposition could have easily aroused any man''s desire to
protect her. Mond Xu thought, ''No matter how crazy is Jackson Chu''s about her, Stephen''s still willing
to do anything for her sake.''
"Hello, excuse me, is Mr. Stephen here?" said Cherry.
Mond Xu quickly snapped out of his trance, and as he looked at Cherry, replied, "Oh, you just missed
him. What did you want to talk to him about?"
"Just some personal affairs, " replied Cherry with a smile. She thought that since the man was in
Stephen''s office all by himself, and that he greeted her so naturally, he surely must be one of Stephen''s
friends, and thus decided to friendly smile back at him as a gesture of politeness.
Mond Xu watched her smile, and felt that there was a special charm in it that almost captured his heart.
He thought, ''This woman is obviously Jackson Chu''s greatest fortune.''
"I don''t know when he''ll be back, but you can stay here and wait for him if you want, " lightly replied
Mond Xu.
Cherry thought, ''Since Stephen isn''t here and I don''t know when he''ll be back, I''d better leave, or
otherwise I might risk to wait for him for a long time. Besides, Jackson doesn''t know that I came here,
and if he finds out that I stayed here for a long time, he''ll be angry again.''
She shook her head, and while she was still smiling, she said to the stranger, "Perhaps I''d bettere
another time. Thank you for your help anyway!"
Mond Xu didn''t say anything, and instead briefly nodded his head as a reply.
He then watched Cherry turn around and go through the door. He stared at her figure and felt that it
was very attractive and pleasing.
After Cherry walked out of the club, she didn''t call Stephen. She instead immediately got in her car and
left.
Mond Xu was standing beside the window and watched Cherry drive away. He suddenly put on a cold
face, and a cold atmosphere immediately filled the whole office.
Then, the door was suddenly pushed open, and Stephen stepped inside his office. When he saw Mond
Xu standing at the window, he asked, "What''re you looking at?"
Mond Xu didn''t turn around to face him, and without answering him, said, "Stephen, she''s been here."
"Who?" curiously asked Stephen.
But just after he finished asking, he noticed Mond Xu''s facial expression, and his own look on his face
also immediately changed. He stepped closer to Mond Xu, and asked again, "Cherry?"
"You''re not stupid after all, " lightly replied Mond Xu.
"You met her here? Did she say anything to you?" anxiously asked Stephen. He stood beside Mond Xu
and stared at his face, waiting for his answer.
Mond Xu then slowly turned around, and said to him, "You don''t have to be so nervous."
"Don''t hurt her, she''s innocent!" immediately requested Stephen. He was worried that Mond Xu would
eventually meet Cherry, and it had finally happened. He hadn''t expected Cherry to visit him so early in
the morning. He had carried his phone with him, but he hadn''t received any call from her.
"Really? You mean that only Andrew Chu and Jackson Chu are the culprits?" said Mond Xu, who
suddenly became furious when he uttered the two names.
Stephen didn''t know how he should reply to him, and after some time, said, "Don''t hurt her, don''t!"
"Stephen, do you really want to protect her?" asked Mond Xu. He stared at Stephen with stern gaze,
and continued to say, "She''s Jackson Chu''s wife."
Stephen avoided eye contact with him and instead looked outside the window.
Mond Xu continued to say, "Although she seems pretty innocent, she''s still Jackson''s wife. Do you think
that she''ll thank you if she knows that you are protecting her? You helped her flee from this city, and
Jackson suppressed you for five whole years because of that! Stephen, he almost rooted you out. But
did she return to you? No, she didn''t, she returned back to Jackson."
Stephen then fell silent, and his heart flooded with bitterness. Cherry was for him like a ray of sunlight
that was out of his reach. He could only stay in the shadow and watch her from far away, knowing that
she would never beam on him.
Mond Xu went on to say, "However, if she finds out the whole truth, how do you think she''ll treat you? If
you tell her that you approached her without any other purpose in your mind, do you think that she''ll
believe you?"
"Stop!" suddenly shouted Stephen. He then turned around and focused his eyes on Mond Xu''s face,
and said, "You should at least promise me that you won''t hurt her, at least for the time being!"
"Stephen, do you think that you''re really qualified to bargain with me?" asked Mond Xu, who then
turned around and suddenly left the office.
Stephen quietly stood still and fell into silence again.
Some timeter, he took out his phone and called Cherry''s number.
The call was soon connected, and Cherry answered, "Hi."
"It''s me, Cherry, " softly replied Stephen, who tried to suppress his emotions.
"Yes, I know. Go ahead, " calmly said Cherry.
"My friend said that you came here to see me. Is there anything important that you wanted to talk with
me?" asked Stephen.
"Oh, I just wanted to ask you something about my work, but I''ve solved it now. But thank you anyway, "
replied Cherry, who had already returned to the JS Group in her office.
"Okay, that''s alright. Next time call beforehand if you want to be sure that you''ll find me, because
sometimes I might be busy and might not be at the office, " said Stephen.
"Okay."
After Cherry hung up she silently sat in her office, with her mind a total mess. She had talked with
Selina after she had got back, and they decided to pay more attention to Mond Xu''s name and all the
clues that might rte to him with their work. They also decided to keep the matter a secret, because
business is like a war without bullets, and they couldn''t imagine what would happen if the news spread
