As I entered my room, I replayed what I had seen. While not technologically advanced, they weren''t cavemen with sticks. More along the lines of bronze age primitives. Impressive. For other races that is, not so much in the grand scheme of things.
But, ship''s are generally made to be economical. A mix of cost effective and manpower efficient. They dont need the best, but I have my hopes based on personal weaponry and armor, along with augmetics. Those are where I hope to see good things.
I quickly checked Freshki''s position aaaand... yes. Good, she hasn''t said something unfortunate. See, I had some scarabs on her to make sure she was not going to go tell. Luckily, she hasn''t, and she lies decently well from what I hear.
Then again, all she needed to do was get close enough to distract anyone and the labyrinth did the rest. While I could teleport it to me to see early, I like the suspense. I just hope it won''t be disappointing.
She is a bit away, I should prepare. Hmmm. What to discuss... perhaps her view on what she''s doing, maybe her opinion on the path forward. Perhaps even some designs?
The first and second will do for now. On the way back, if she is amenable, we can do the third. I should also ask her opinion on becoming inorganic through biotransference. Not the original version, mind, but it will need to be modified.
Also, I need to get the chronomancers doing their job. I need to know about the council and the general future. Need I contact trazyn? ...Nooooo... no I don''t think I will. But Orikan however... hmm. I will need to think on that one.
The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
As my thoughts die out, Freshki arives right on time. I let her in. She enters and closes the door. She then hands me the labyrinth.
"I presume all is still well?" I ask.
"Yep. They will likely notice soon, but we are almost out."
"Good. Good. I will check what you acquired later. Again, you''ve my thanks. Do you have any questions?"
"Uh, ya. So the plan is to teleport aboard your ship, then loot anything of value on the way back?"
"Largely yes. But, I want one of these escorts."
"Uuuhhh... You mean one of the frigates?" She hesitantly asks.
"Yes. I need an example of ship technology, and a simple escort will do. The crew though will have to be removed." I state.
"...you mean kill them..." She whispers. I can tell she is upset now.
"sigh I know you are uncomfortable about such things. But, I will not lie to you. They will likely be killed as a matter of principle, along will all other organic matter aboard." I state.
"...I know. Its just..."
"They are human. And your former comrades." I supply. She nods slightly.
"Killing your own can be a tragic necessity. I know this from experience. And sometimes you do what you deem needs to get done. But enough about such things. There is one last thing to do before we leave."
She shakes her head then looks at me. "What do you need next?"
I give her a thimble of dark liquid. "Take these and go to a data storage room. Dump the vial as close as you can to it. When done, we will leave at the earliest time available." I state. She nods hesitantly, and takes it.
"If you need to talk, or have questions, ask. Otherwise, please enjoy the rest of your day." I state, and she nods, and leaves.
Well, that is that. Now, to continue onwards to my next objective. Piracy. I always did like Pirates of the Caribbean.
