Chapter- 2


    Tragedy


    Early in the dojo, Ryu stood still at the center. Ryu Jun, taking a walk in the backyard, noticed the dojo door open. He was about to call out to Ryu but paused when he saw him pick up a sword. Curious about Ryu''s skills, Jun decided to watch.


    Ryu began shadow fighting, imagining an opponent in front of him. He slashed to the right, blocked overhead, then made a left slash and a thrust. He changed his grip in a swift motion, switching to a downward slash. Then, he let go of the sword, catching it with his other hand. He performed an upward feint and finished with a powerful vertical slash.


    Jun watched in awe as Ryu fought with such precision. He imagined someone skilled, wielding the sword with great ease—(no face shown). Jun felt amazed when he saw his nephew demonstrating such accuracy.


    Jun: (thought), In the underworld, they would call someone like him a diamond in rough if trained more he will be unstoppable. But how can


    Jin: you surprised


    Jun: (surprised) Hey, you almost gave me a heart attack


    Jin: my bad


    Jun: hey, what the hell were you thinking teaching him that style of kenjutsu huh!


    Jin: it’s not that dangerous and still that''s all I know and I only taught him some 4 to 5 moves


    Jun: Those moves can kill any amateur in underworld.


    Jin: shut up man I ain’t gonna let him get involved him them so relax


    Jun can’t you taught him something more simp—(cuts in)


    Jin: (shouts) It’s enough you need to converse your energy for competition


    Jun: Are you listening or not(in the background)


    Ryu: Father, uncles when did you arrive


    Jin: we just got here so go get changed we will be departing in a while


    Ryu: yes, father


    Jin: don’t worry I won’t let him get involved in that shit hole


    jun: ……….(stares at jin) you better keep your words

    and the scene shifts to the kitchen

    Rina Kazuya is having breakfast and as Ryu changes his clothes he joins them for breakfast


    Breakfast consists of Eggs toast and milk for kids and for adults it is rice, soup, eggs, and green tea


    Ryu: thank you, mom


    Rina: so, how are you feeling


    Ryu: better than before


    Rina: good give your best shot in compition


    Aditi: (serves Ryu his food) Here eat your food and perform well today


    Ryu: yes, mom


    Akiko: mamma, hurry up


    Rina: yes, yes, let me finish my coffee first.


    Ryu: where are you going aunt?


    Rina: Akiko left her hakama at the hotel and now we have to go get it


    Rina: I don’t know, what am I even gonna do with her?


    Aditi: come on, Rina, give her a break she is just a kid


    Rina: yeah, yeah, she is so clumsy.


    Aditi: like mother, like daughter


    Rina: Hey, I wasn’t that clumsy


    Aditi: (sarcastically) yeah, okay


    Every one laughs


    Ryu: won’t you be late


    Rina: No, it’s on the way to the competition venue so, you guy’s will be picking us on the way so it will be fine


    she stood up and left for the car to the hotel and then everyone gathered in the kitchen to have the food


    After a while


    Jin: Let go or we will be late


    Jun: we need to pick up Rina and Akiko first yeah


    Jin: fine first let''s go pick them


    Jin took his car out of the garage and said, "Let''s go." They drove into the city. Then, they got on the highway to reach the hotel where Rina and Akiko were. They needed to get to an underpass too get there. But, as soon as they entered an underpass, a truck rammed through the traffic and hit the tunnel wall. That caused a huge crash. Some cars lost control. Then, a out of controlled Toyota Hilux hit Jin''s car and flipped it over. They got out of the underpass as there car flipped and crash’s on the middle of road


    Jun: (Yells) JJJJJIIIIINNN


    Jun''s car also hit a guard rail as his driver and his other member also avoid the collision with other car all of them got out of the car and access the situation as it escalated suddenly. As Jun is rushing to help Jin and his family. Ten black Fortuner in a V formation appeared from the front. A person got out, smiling. Jun recognized that person.


    there were 40 men Vinod brings


    Vinod: How does it feel to see your family die? huh


    Jun: (yells) VINOD, I WILL KILL YOU RIGHT HERE TODAY


    Then, the trunk of the Audi opened. Twenty-five men grabbed weapons from the trunk(katanas, knives, axes, one-handed swords, and baseball bats with nails.). and stood at back of Jun.


    Jun: kill everyone except him (points at Vinod) I will kill him myself later


    After getting orders from their leader, 25 Yakuza rushed at Indian Gangster Jun. He went to help.


    As Jun helped Jin out of the car. He saw Jin broke his arm while protecting Aditi, And is unconscious at the moment. Kazuya’s got out of the car from the broken door of the car his right arm is bleeding, and there are glass fragments in his right and shoulder he rushed to left side of the car as he couldn’t help from the right because of the dent in the roof. He saw Ryu is bleeding from his head from the broken glass. The blood covers his left eye.


    Kazuya pulls the door of the crashed car with his left hand Ryu comes out from the car he almost fell to ground. Kazuya saw a glass fragment is in his chest. He has a broken left arm and a wounded left leg. The Hilux rammed them on the left side, where Ryu and Aditi were sitting and they suffered the most but Jin was able to protect Aditi from any major injury


    Kazuya:(looking at Ryu’s chest) Hey, you okay holding his from his right shoulder


    Ryu: (comes out of the car) Yeah, I am okay (Pulls out the glass shard from his chest and blood comes out of it)


    Kazuya: Hey, are you out of your damn mind


    Ryu: I am fine what about yo--- (as he tries to walk he falls on his right knee)


    Kazuya: (catches him with his left hand, concerned) Hey, don''t try to walk. You''re not in shape to even stand, let alone walk. Worry about yourself first.


    Ryu: where are mom and dad?


    Kazuya: Uncle Jun helped us out he took them to the roadside to help them sit in a safe place


    Ryu: I see, let’s go to where they are


    As Ryu starts walking Kazuya noticed his brother struggling to walk. He grabbed his brother''s right arm and lifted it over his head, then placed it on the back of his neck to help him walk.


    Ryu: I am fin--


    Kazuya:(cuts in) let go


    Ryu: Fine


    they walk over to their parents


    Jun: you alright Jin


    Jnn: yeah, that son of the bitch ,I will kill him


    Jin: You better, if not I will


    Jun: I won’t let that happen, you don’t belong to this world anymore


    As Jun walks back to the fight. He sees Ryu and Kazuya and the state they are. Fuck even kids get dragged in this. It''s my fault he pats their heads


    Jun: I’ll be back


    As they turned to watch their uncles

    both Ryu and Kazuya reach to him to catch him and make him sit and sits beside him and their Mother

    Jin: Your uncle, he is a Yakuza.


    Kazuya: you gotta be kidding Right?


    Jin: No


    Kazuya saw his fathers face and realized that he is not in the mood of joking around


    Jin:He has a feud with a Delhi gangster. He wouldn''t have come to meet us if it were a place near Delhi. He didn''t expect to run into him and cause such a mess.


    Both sides Leaders didn''t get involved. As Vinod saw Jun approach the center, he walked toward him. Vinod took a folding knife and opened it. Without hesitation, Jun approached Vinod, folding his sleeves. As they got close, Vinod swung the knife sideways four times, left and right. Jun dodged them all with a sidestep. Then, Vinod did a simple thrust. Jun stepped to Vinod''s left and hit him in the liver and then in the face. Vinod flew back but regained his balance. Vinod lunged at Jun again and thrust his knife at Jun’s left side of chest aiming for his heart , then slashed up and down. But Jun dodged them all. Jun feinted with a roundhouse kick. Then, he did a Brazilian kick to Vinod''s right shoulder, dislocating it. Vinod dropped to his knees. Jun then kneed him in the face. Vinod backed up a bit. Jun heel kicked his jaw, breaking it. But Vinod got the opportunity to relocate his shoulder before Jun punched him in the face. Vinod blocked the punch, but it broke his left hand. As his hand dropped, Jun elbowed him in the face, then grabbed him from behind and hit him with a suplexed. As vinod was lying on the road in pain, Jun grabbed Vinod''s face, and punched him in his Solar plexus and the impact, broke Vinod’s several ribs. Vinod flew and landed on a car, coughing blood. Jun picked up Vinod''s knife. He stabbed him in the right side of the chest. Then, he twisted the knife both ways.


    Jun: you shouldn’t have done this not with me being around him


    as Vinod saw his death near, he saw one of his men sneaking in from behind and gave a smirk.


    A gang member of Vinod''s approaches with an Indian Talwar to cut him. Then, a Yakuza member stabs him in the back, killing him. He says, "Must have slipped from us."


    Jun: good work


    and keeps twisting it. Then, Vinod looks around. All the gang members he brought are dead. Without warning, Jun gouged out his left eye with their bare hands.


    Vinod: (lets a cry out) aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh !


    Jun extends his hand to one of his men. He gestures to give him the bat he is holding, which has nails sticking out of it. Jun holds the bat. He raises it to kill Vinod by smashing his head.


    The tunnel groaned under pressure, cracks slithering along its walls like veins. Dust and tiny pebbles rained from above. Then came the first explosion—a deafening boom as concrete split apart. Panic erupted. The tunnel was dying, and it was taking everyone with it. Rubble began to fall everywhere from above, including on Ryu, Jin, Aditi, and Kazuya. Kazuya pushes Ryu aside. He falls on his face. When Ryu tries to stand, he staggers from his wounded leg. A big stone falls on Ryu''s leg. It doesn''t crush it because of the rubble. But, everyone gets stuck because of the rubble as the concrete frame completely falls. After a silence, the steel outer frame, meant to protect from the rain, also began to fall. A boulder trapped Ryu, saving him but crushing his family. A steel frame crushed his mother. His brother got his head and upper body squashed. A hollow steel frame fell straight down on Jin''s head and then rolled forward. Ryu then saw his father’s head nearby. Rubble crashed down around him, trapping him in helplessness. His fists slammed against the ground as a scream of frustration tore from his throat


    Ryu: Run, Hide, Change your name. It won’t matter. Because I swear on their name—no matter where you are, no matter how long it takes… I will find you, and I will tear you apart (let out a cry) Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!


    And a small Rock hit Ryu’s back of head knocking him out


    But, when Jun heard Ryu''s cry, he rushed there. He found Ryu unconscious and Jin''s head. Everyone was dead. Guilt washed over him. He felt devastated by what he saw.


    Jun:(thought to himself) that this happened because of him and cursed him


    he couldn’t even look at them


    Jun: hey (in a rush) carry him to the car and get him to the hospital


    Jun''s man removed the rock, picked up Ryu, and carried him to the car. Jun, enraged, searched for Vinod. He found that Vinod had flown the scene to avoid getting killed.


    Jun: (yells in rage)VINOD I FIND YOU AND I’LL KILL YOU DOESN’T MATTER WHERE YOU HIDE

    Jun rushed Ryu in Hospital emergency ward and admits Ryu

    News Anchor (on TV): There was a huge accident on the Bangalore Highway. A truck, driving under the influence, smashed into an underpass wall. This caused a crack which led to the ceiling collapsing. Thirteen people died, and hospitals admitted over 29 others who suffered injuries. Many more are still trapped under the rubble. The government will reach out to the families of the deceased to arrange for their recovery. They also promised compensation for those affected. (Jun turns off the T.V.)


    then the doctor comes to check up on Ryu


    Jun: Doctor is he alright?


    Doctor: There is nothing to fear. He''s fine. We''ve put him to sleep for now. He will receive his discharge in 5 days. His wounds aren''t deep. The chest wound will leave a scar, but it''s not that deep. Don''t worry. (He pats Jun''s shoulder.)


    Nurse: Sir, we need you to complete some paperwork


    Jun: I am not in the state for that hey, Mishima (one of Jun’s men) take care of it for me


    At that moment, Jun’s phone rings.


    Officer(on the phone): (It''s from the government.) Sir, I''m sorry for your loss. A great accident, as you may have seen in the news, involved your brother and his family. We found their bodies among the rubble. Due to the scale of the disaster, we treated them as one body. Please collect them and give them a proper funeral.


    Jun: ……………………


    The call ended


    We saw Jun''s face. He started crying and tears fall from his check to his knees. He stood to go to the washroom. Inside, he screamed in grief about what happened to his older brother. He blamed himself curses himself and his childhood memories with him surfaces in mind and how they spend their youth and of yesterday he cried and cried for long time and started punching the wall. His fist left imprints of his fist. Blood stain''s his hand.


    Jun: yells(ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!)


    Jun stared at his own eyes in the mirror.


    Jun: I will kill you Vinod Don''t even though of resting I''ll hunt you down and kill you in the most brutal way so be ready Vinod
