Chapter 73: Malicious Twig Placement

Meanwhile, Bird was heading down his own tunnel. This tunnel went down many sets of staircases and it was just getting deeper and deeper. Eventually, he turned a corner and was face-to-face with a group of mouse-mechs guarding the entrance to a room. Luckily, they had been guarding this entrance for so long that they had all fallen asleep.

Bird freaked out and zoomed back around the corner, accidentally stepping on a twig that just happened to randomly be there. The twig snapped. The mouse-mechs woke up…! Bird RAN!!!

Just as Mushpuff got out of his tunnel, Bird sprinted out of his and smacked into him, causing both of them to tumble down.

“Ah, Bird!” said Mushpuff. “Fancy seei--”

“RUN!!!!!” yelled Bird as he got up and ran. Without further questioning, Mushpuff ran with him. They both burst out of the front gates of Lizard Fortress and smacked into Qaeron.

“MOUSE ROBOTS!!!” yelled Bird, reaching for the Energy Cube. Hoofa, of course, acted reasonable and let him take it.

“What? Where??” asked Plagiarize, who was also here now. He then got blasted in the face with a heat beam from a mouse-mech gun. Luckily, he was still immune to fire after all this time.Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

Hoofa, Qaeron, Bird, Mushpuff, Plagiarize, and Snorter (who was also here) all ran out of the line of fire of the mouse-mechs who were inside the fortress.

“Lemme get some o’ this!” said Bird, sticking his flippers into the Energy Cube and absorbing some power. He then aimed them at the wall in the direction of the mouse-mechs and let the energy beam do the rest. It blasted straight through the wall and wrecked all of them.

“Yo, this thing is so overpowered,” said Bird. “I sure hope nothing happens to it soon.”

“Well, that would never happen,” said Plagiarize. “It’s improbable.”

    “Of course.”

They all sat there for a moment in silence. Then Mushpuff spoke, and his words were oh-so-profound and important.

“So anyways, have any of you seen 22 bears?”

    “Nah,” said Plagiarize.

    “Nope,” said Snorter.

“Approximately none of them,” said Bird.

“We haven’t seen any either,” said Hoofa.

    “Well, maybe Klumpkrump has.”
