For Adele, there is only one proper way to progress, and that is to experience the time in the world. Nothing about studying ancient texts, learning spells or sitting down for years at a time absorbing spiritual power. As long as she experiences the time that passes, she will gain strength, absorbing spiritual power can accelerate this process only slightly.


    In theory, every stage would require her to wait a different time. The first seal takes one year, the second three, the third five, and the fourth takes ten years. From then on, the rise is higher and higher, until she reaches the peak of her strength at the midpoint of her lifespan, which should be a thousand years old.


    Of course this is only the aspect of a time witch. The basis for witches is still to create chaos, without doing so, it’s like a wizard with a vast amount of mana but nowhere to store it. It’s simply useless and will overflow.


    Anyways, she doesn’t have this worry currently. It would be difficult to create chaos in a world where the ruling is stable for many years, but those few thousand years of this world are far from that. In fact, without one great faction ruling all, it would be difficult to reach that stage.


    Therefore, she has a lot of freedom considering her future plans. The only worry she might have would be that she was too weak to properly experience the interesting sites all around the world.

With a sixth seal I will have the power of the seventh stage, counting as the higher stages. If I still can’t move around by then, am I supposed to wait in a coma until I’m in the ninth stage?”

    Adele mused and spent time thinking of all the things she wants to do, and most of all, also her further plans for the future.


    Although she was relaxed, that didn’t mean she would forget her goal, in fact, with the knowledge she has enough time, she simply has more freedom for her schemes, for her many schemes.

    The passive is the most basic spell any time witch has, instant casting. In fact, they are the only force with this spell. For others, this is a level of achievement where one can cast a spell instantly as long as they know it well enough.


    This is different for time witches, they simply ‘consume’ the time they would’ve spent on the spell. Most spells don’t take long to activate, between three and nine seconds, so the average would be six seconds. But, one doesn’t actually pay for the six seconds to cast the spell, one pays ten times the price.


    Every spell costs around a minute, so a single spell is not much, but when fighting, this basically means one can lose several days in a few minutes. Regardless, at least with this spell, time witches aren’t weak in combat at all. It is also because of this that time witches are called extremes – either they cast a spell directly, or prepare years for a ritual.


    Besides this passive spell, Adele has three more.


    Spiritual missile, a very basic spell among not only witches but also wizards. It only gathers spiritual power to shoot in a fast motion in a straight line, exploding upon impact. Although it’s basic, it fulfils the purpose.


    The second is a time spell – a debuff, the Slow Movement, a single-target spell which slows the movement of the person hit. Time spells are mainly focused on support-type spells, of course there are also offensives, strong ones even, but they aren’t as strong as other witch paths. Though when it comes to rituals, as long as the ritual has enough time, it will be extremely powerful.


    Lastly there is another single-target time spell, Fast Movement. It accelerates the speed at which one is moving. Both spells don’t focus on physical or spiritual power, but on time. When these spells are cast, they are manipulating and compressing or expanding time. Compressing it causes one to walk a distance that would take ten seconds in one second, the physical or spiritual consumption would be as if one walked for ten seconds, but one did so in one second.


    On the other hand, expanding it will be as if one is walking a distance of ten seconds very slow, as if you’re dragging yourself. The consumption will be that of ten seconds, but the time it takes for the distance would be twenty seconds or even more.


    In fact, it could be said that both are buffs and debuffs, as long as you accelerate your enemy when he’s dodging, he might go off course because he’s moving too fast, while slowing yourself could let you dodge an attack since you took longer to reach the place you planned to reach.


    These things wouldn’t work for other people, regardless of how good they train such spells, it’s hard to cast them fast enough to catch one off-guard, and most similar spells don’t are difficult to cast on people besides yourself, time is simply the best element for these spells. Well, time and space, but space is even rarer than time, and technically, time and space offset each other.

    The Aeon Witch has another name, which is the Time Elemental Lord. All elements have their elemental lords, they are the first and strongest elementals that have the highest control over their specific element.


    For the witches, it was a great advantage to have the Time Elemental Lord join them. From then on, they would be the faction with the most rightful inheritance of the time element.


    The same can’t be said about space. To this day, it is the void sky that holds the highest authority of the space element. Anyone that wishes to master this element has to gain an opportunity, even an orderly inheritance won’t be enough.


    This is why the factions of knights, wizards, witches, priests, etc. exist. They have their own authorities and specialities, if one doesn’t join any faction, then it will be very difficult to take the more specific paths.
