Chapter 106: Being Chased Away

    After having dinner, Xia Xin went to bed early. She had been emotionally drained all day and quickly fell asleep. Bobo and Layle apanied Xia Xin in the guest room, behaving well without causing any trouble.


    Jing MO looked at Bobo and couldn’t help but wonder if the dog had a grudge against him. Since Bobo hade to the house, it had always slept in its dog bed.


    One time, Jing MO had reced it with a new one, and Bobo had refused to sleep for three days straight, howling all night. Today, it actually left its beloved dog bed to stay with Xia Xin. Jing MO couldn’t help but wonder if Xia Xin put a spell on Bobo.


    Jing MO checked to see if Xia Xin had kicked off her nket before heading to bed.


    The next morning, Xia Xin woke up and found her phone had over a hundred missed calls and was bombarded with text messages. Her phone had been vibrating non-stop, and she almost thought it was going to explode.


    Xia Xin didn’t want to answer the calls at first, but then a call came in, and it happened to be from herndlord. She quickly answered. Thendlord’s sharp voice came through, “Where are you?”


    Xia Xin replied, “I’m at a friend’s house.”


    Thendlord sneered, “You’ve turned my ce into this mess, and I bet you don’t dare toe back! I thought you were honest when I rented you the ce. Look at what it’s be now. The house won’t be rented to you anymore. I’m giving you today to move all your stuff out!”


    Xia Xin was distressed. She was suddenly being asked to move out and had no idea where to go. She wanted to argue, but thendlord had already hung up.


    ‘This is a disaster on top of another.’ Xia Xin sighed as she looked at her phone.


    Jing MO had just brought breakfast for Xia Xin and overheard her on the phone with thendlord, realizing that she had been kicked out. After the call ended, he knocked on the door and entered with breakfast.


    “No ce to go?” Jing MO asked, sympathetically.


    Suddenly, Xia Xin froze. She had always thought Jing MO was handsome, but today, in his casual home attire, with his hair naturally tousled, and some loose strands covering his eyebrows, his pair of deep ck eyes looked even more profound. It was the first time Xia Xin didn’t just think he was handsome; she thought he was utterly captivating.


    Jing MO put down the breakfast and asked, “What are you looking at?”


    Xia Xin grinned foolishly and said, “I’m looking at your handsome face.”


    Jing MO was speechless. He said, “You’re only realizing this now?”


    It took only one sentence to make Xia Xin return to her former self.


    Xia Xin’s expression changed and she made a silly face at Jing Mo. She said, “You’re handsome, but you’re also too conceited!” Then she added, “Take the breakfast away; I haven’t brushed my teeth, and I don’t feel like eating right now.”


    Jing MO helplessly watched Xia Xin and said, “You’re really making yourself at home.”


    Xia Xin shrugged and said, “With anyone else, I might be a bit more polite, but you’re like a brother to me. So I skipped the formalities.”


    Jing MO looked at Xia Xin with indulgence and said, “I heard yourndlord is kicking you out.”


    Xia Xin sighed, “Yes, it seems I’ll have to find another ce to stay.”


    Jing MO suggested, “Why don’t you stay here for now? My ce is quite spacious, and it’s just me and Bobo. Having one more person around might liven up the atmosphere.”


    Xia Xin’s eyes lit up and eximed, “I think that’s a great idea!”


    Jing Mo’s apartment had a differentyout from Xia Xin’s. Xia Xin had a two-bedroom apartment, which was rtively small. In contrast, Jing MO had a three-bedroom apartment with an additional loft that he used as a study. The apartment wasrge, but it was only upied by him and Bobo, which made it feel a bit empty.


    Xia Xin didn’t hesitate to agree and said, “Well, I guess I’ll have to trouble you for a while. Is there anything I should be mindful of in your house? Like, do you have OCD, or are there any areas I can’t enter, such as your study?”


    Jing MO casually replied, “No. Anywhere in my house, you can go.”


    Xia Xin found Jing Mo’s face exceptionally radiant, especially when he said those words. She quickly lowered her head, covering her flushed face. Inwardly, she scolded herself, ‘What’s wrong with me? How could I develop feelings for him?’


    Sun Hu arrived shortly after Xia Xin finished her breakfast. He yawned and copsed onto Jing Mo t s extremelyfortable couch. Heined, “Jing MO, what’s so urgent that you had to call me over so early? I checked your schedule; you don’t have any shoots or personal appointments these days.. I finally took a break for myself, and you still won’t leave me alone!”
