Case #3127 - Interview 1 - Jean Rose Heartly

    Interviewer: Thank you for agreeing to speak with me, Jean. I know this must be quite confusing for you.

    Jean: It’s all good. I just want Dawn to be okay.

    I: Let’s start off with the basics. Full name?

    J: Jean Rose Heartly.

    I: Thank you. I understand you are the one that first filed the report, correct?

    J: Correct.

    I: Wonderful. And how do you know Dawn?

    J: She’s my roommate this year.

    I: And the new school year started just over four months ago?If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it.

    J: Yes.

    I: Can you tell me what caused you to call campus security on Dawn?

    J: {takes a deep breath}

    J: Well, at first, I thought she was just quiet. She was always in her room and didn’t really interact all that much. She wasn’t mean, but she definitely stuck to herself. She talked to herself a lot, and sometimes I would see her smiling or laughing at nothing when she was alone. When midterms started, I began staying up way later to study. I would hear her talking to someone in her room late at night. I assumed it was boyfriend or girlfriend that she was on the phone with, but a couple weeks ago I asked if I could have her number and she said she didn’t have a phone. That’s when I started suspecting she was sneaking someone in. I asked her about it a couple times, but she would get really defensive and say it was just her sister. It was freaking me out, having someone else in the dorm whenever she felt like it, so I went into her room to confront her again. Only, she wasn’t there. But she had doubles of everything. Two beds, two dressers, everything, and they were totally different. I got really scared that someone else was living in the room, or that she might have a split personality or something. So I called campus security, and now I’m here. What happened to her? Will she be okay?

    I: Thank you for your time, Jean.
