《Case #3127 - Dawn Carrier and her possible delusions》
Case #3127 - Interview 1 - Jean Rose Heartly
Interviewer: Thank you for agreeing to speak with me, Jean. I know this must be quite confusing for you.
Jean: It¡¯s all good. I just want Dawn to be okay.
I: Let¡¯s start off with the basics. Full name?
J: Jean Rose Heartly.
I: Thank you. I understand you are the one that first filed the report, correct?
J: Correct.
I: Wonderful. And how do you know Dawn?
J: She¡¯s my roommate this year.
I: And the new school year started just over four months ago?If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it.
J: Yes.
I: Can you tell me what caused you to call campus security on Dawn?
J: {takes a deep breath}
J: Well, at first, I thought she was just quiet. She was always in her room and didn¡¯t really interact all that much. She wasn¡¯t mean, but she definitely stuck to herself. She talked to herself a lot, and sometimes I would see her smiling or laughing at nothing when she was alone. When midterms started, I began staying up way later to study. I would hear her talking to someone in her room late at night. I assumed it was boyfriend or girlfriend that she was on the phone with, but a couple weeks ago I asked if I could have her number and she said she didn¡¯t have a phone. That¡¯s when I started suspecting she was sneaking someone in. I asked her about it a couple times, but she would get really defensive and say it was just her sister. It was freaking me out, having someone else in the dorm whenever she felt like it, so I went into her room to confront her again. Only, she wasn¡¯t there. But she had doubles of everything. Two beds, two dressers, everything, and they were totally different. I got really scared that someone else was living in the room, or that she might have a split personality or something. So I called campus security, and now I¡¯m here. What happened to her? Will she be okay?
I: Thank you for your time, Jean.

!: Fine. Have it your way

I: Dawn, I¡¯m here to help you, but I can¡¯t if you¡¯re being difficult like this.
D: I don¡¯t need your help. I¡¯m doing just fine with Olivia.
I: Olivia?
D: Yeah. My sister.
I: But-
{A knock on the door interrupts}

Case #3127 - Interview 3 - Maya Ladner
Interviewer: I¡¯m going to have to interview you and your husband separately. Is that okay?
Maya: Of course. Anything to help.
{Interviewer leads Maya to a separate room}
I: Perfect. I can¡¯t thank you enough for your cooperation in all this.
M: Of course, of course. What¡¯s going on? What¡¯s wrong with Dawn? We weren¡¯t told much, just that we were needed in for questioning. Has she done something?
I: Dawn is okay, ma¡¯am. We¡¯re just investigating some reports made by her dormmate about her sneaking other people in.If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.
M: But certainly that doesn¡¯t call for a full investigation like this? That doesn¡¯t seem like her.
I: I¡¯m afraid it has grown more complicated recently. I¡¯d like to get to the questions if you please. I¡¯m sure we¡¯d all like to wrap this up as soon as possible.
M: Okay. What do you need to know?
I: Mainly we¡¯re curious about her past. You and Jax aren¡¯t her biological parents?
M: That¡¯s right. Her biological parents died in a car crash 11 years go. Quite tragic, really. She¡¯s the only one who survived.
I: When did you gain custody of Dawn?
M: She came to live with us after being rejected from a couple families. She was 11, I believe. Quiet, lonely, but not a bad kid. By then we already had Acey, and Ellie was on the way. She never really connected that closely with the others, but she wasn¡¯t rude or disrespectful. Stayed in her room a lot.
I: I see. And you didn¡¯t find any problems with this?
M: No, not specifically. She had good grades and never caused problems at school or at home. We thought she just needed to get out of the house, make her own life. I take it that¡¯s not what happened.
I: Thank you for your time, Mrs. Ladner.
