After inspecting Sam''s status , much to the oblivion of Sam , Travis willed the screen to close and went to the makeshift campfire of alpha .
Travis realised , after playing around with his new powers that he could appraise someone and look at their status , for example , Sarah''s stats were much weaker than Travis . (Come at me Feminists )
However , it was only because Travis had been serving in the military longer than her and have gone through much more hours of training. ( ok I am sorry ) .
Secondly , Travis''s active skill , throw , made use of objects that can be thrown to inflict more destruction . For example , before acquiring ''throw'' , If Travis threw a stone at a tree , the stone would just bounce off . \
However , after acquiring ''throw'' , a simple stone thrown by Travis had an alarming high-accuracy and insane power . As mentioned earlier , Travis''s casual toss of a stone managed to penetrate through a tree which was at least 10 meters wide!
Depending on the power behind the tossed object , the object could potentially explode upon contact with an enemy! That was how strong Travis active skill was.
With a full moon out , Travis laid in his tent while thinking about how unreal this whole situation was. Yesterday was just another normal day , However the military was suddenly gathered as the satellites of United States picked out 4 massive entity entering into the Earth''s atmosphere .
The president , believing that a foreign race was invading Earth , sent 3 elite squads out to scout the mysterious visitors . All 3 squads were wiped out.However , one squad managed to catch a glimpse of the beings . Unbelievable as it was , the 4 beings were 2 black and 2 white dragons ! It was also reported that the dragons were fighting amongst themselves too .
After confirming the situation , 5 more elite squads were sent out . Alpha , Bravo , Charlie , Delta and Echo was sent out to attempt to take down the 4 beings , Alpha , Bravo and Charlie was sent to the frontlines while Delta and Echo was at the backline, in charge of the nukes for the taking down of the dragons .
Bravo was taken down immediately after the nukes hit the dragons , Charlie had half of it''s squad down while Alpha was lucky to had only 1 dead man , although many of their members were injured . Though , Alpha now had two dead men .
While thinking through what happened today , Travis heard the all-familiar growls again , this time in a much louder voices with different timing . Stepping out of his tent , Travis counted a grand total of 9 zombies advancing towards his squad''s camp.
Without hesitation , Travis reached for his rifle and turned off the safety catch . Aiming at the heads of his ex-comrades , Travis managed to kill off 5 of them before he ran out of ammo and had to reload .
Throwing his rifle to one side , Travis took out his pistol and knelt on one knee , firing at the rest of the zombies . Successfully killing off 3 of them.
Just one zombie was left and Travis was out of ammo in both his guns . Travis was able to hear some shouting and loud footsteps but judging that the squad members were too slow to arrive in time , Travis took out his bowie knife and took a battle ready stance.
Travis : "oh wait a second , I have my ''throw'' skill!"
Remembering that he could use his power , Travis retreated a few steps and instantly threw the knife at the head of the zombie approaching .
CRRACCK! The sound of bone cracking was loudly produced and the zombie fell down . Assessing the situation , Travis slowly inched closer towards the zombie to retrieve his knife.
Plucking the knife out from the head of the zombie , Travis looked around a few more times for any more approaching zombies . However , there was none .
No sounds were produced and nothing/nobody was coming . In fact , Travis couldn''t even hear his squad members anymore!
Furrowing his eyebrows , Travis quickly wiped the blood on his knife on the zombie''s uniform and picked up his rifle . No matter how you looked at it , this situation was too weird .
Inwardly panicking , Travis ran to the location where the footsteps earlier was , while reloading his rifle with a new magazine.
Reaching the area where Alpha''s sniper team was , Travis saw a scene so sickening that he nearly vomited . However , if he vomited , his ex squad members would notice him and instantly surround him from all directions .
Yes , Travis saw a zombie from Charlie happily munching on the remains of Clovis . The head member of Charlie did not stick with the rest of the squad and went by himself to backstab the sniper squad!
How is this possible , weren''t they keeping an eye on Charlie what the fucking hell?! All the members of Alpha except Travis had turned into zombies , even Sam who had strength much higher than Travis .
Somehow , one zombie had managed to turn an elite squad of military personnels into walking undeads .
Travis : "fuck my life , what did I do to deserve this?" ( you took the role of mc , that''s why )
Retreating to a safe distance , Travis started to pick off zombies with his throwing skill by throwing rocks at them . Although the action was simply just throwing rocks , the result of throwing these rocks were 10 dead zombies in mere moments .
Travis : "I am alone now..."
Being alone was never nice , especially when you are in a jungle , with possibly another 10 zombies from squad Bravo roaming around in it too.
Travis then started to search the zombie''s bodies one by one , looking for cards similar to the one he had gotten from the captain. The result was ...

Seeing the 3 cards in his hands , Travis managed to get a grin out despite having just killed his squad members whom he had spent 2 years with.
"I should use this gold card first , I wonder what it might bring , being at a low 5% chances of being able to obtain it." Travis , for some reason could see the chances of a card appearing next to it''s name in the blue-screen . Probably due to appraisal . Willing to use the gold card , a beam of light once again descended on him.

Reading the blue-screen''s notification , Travis gasped in astonishment . This truly was game-like ! Invisibility and a Detection skill that could detect up to 100 km and scales with his intelligence ?! Even though Travis had expected a good skill to be obtained , this was out of his expectations .
If a higher-being had heard of Travis obtaining these two skills with just his first try and with just a mere gold card , they might faint from shock .
Unbeknownst to Travis , these two skills were extremely highly sought after . A passive detection is one of the most useful and convenient skill to have . And Invisibility is useful for <del>peeping on bathing girls</del> assassins . To assassins , Invisibility was an insanely op skill that had unlimited potential!
Back to the topic , Travis instantly detected 10 zombies not far from his current location and eager to try out his new skill , Travis turned invisible , creeping towards the zombies

10 dead zombies were on the ground , but no cards were dropped even after intensive searching , although Travis was a little disappointed , he wasn’t very much affected by it as he still had two copper cards left on him.
Invisibility had 5 more hours remaining and Travis was starting to feel hungry . Ah , just nice . A fruit on the corpse of a zombie . Why not consume it immediately.
Thus , our dense mc instantly swallowed a really sweet dragon fruit without any hesitations . After consuming the fruit , Travis still didn’t feel like he ate anything but he suddenly realised that he swallowed down a random fruit found on the body of a zombie and Travis suddenly , didn’t feel hungry anymore.
Travis : “what the?” Travis expression of surprise was due to a blue-screen flickering in his vision , normally the blue-screens wouldn’t do anything and just remain there as a neutral part of Travis vision. However , this particular notification was flickering on and off in brightness as if it was asking for Travis attention.
Seeing this abnormality , Travis quickly willed the screen to become bigger.

Travis : "It seems that not only did my strength increased , both agility and intelligence increased too? Perhaps Agility grew naturally since it''s growth is quite low . Maybe Intelligence grew due to my new detection skill? "
Although Travis was shocked to find that all his stats had improved , he managed to keep a calm mindset and asset the situation.
Travis : "now that I am alone , I might as well get out of this damn forest . Supplies should be able to keep me going for a month or so ..."
The reason why the supplies were enough to last Travis a month was because the supplies were meant for 10 people . Initially , the supplies would last the squad a week and should be enough to last a man/woman 2 and a half month , some blood from the zombies got onto some of the food and water . Travis , not wanting to take chances , decided to discard it.
Thus , after deciding to get out of the forest , Travis packed up his supplies , prepared his firearm''s ammo , sharpened his knife and left from the ex-alpha camp with a heavy backpack . Before he left , Travis turned around , saluted to his officers one last time and left with not just a heavy backpack , but with a heavy heart too.
