Chapter 262
As soon as Izabe finished speaking, tears rolled down her cheeks. In order to get Tiara''s help,
she had to win her sympathy first.
Izabe looked gorgeous, and with her illness, she looked pitiful when she cried. Tiara quickly found
a tissue to wipe her tears.
"Why are you crying?" Tiara asked while wiping her tears, "You should be happy about being
pregnant."
Izabe shook her head and said, "Tiara, Brett doesn''t want this child."
Tiara was shocked, her hand stiffly holding the tissue, unable to recover for a long time. Then she
asked, "Why?"
Izabe told Tiara everything, including how the medicine Brett gave her disrupted her nerves, and
how he never wanted her to regain her memory all along. Brett wanted her to be unable to
remember anything, even turning her into a fool and keeping her here.
Izabe didn''t understand why Brett didn''t want her child, but she could vaguely guess that it had to
do with her lost memory.
After hearing everything, Tiara was dumbfounded. What kind of things were these? In her eyes, the
gentle and elegant Brett, who loved Izabe, turned out to be such a person behind her back.
How was this any different from imprisonment? He even tried to control other people''s memories,
what kind of... Was he even human? He was worse than an animal!
"Tiara, you have a daughter too, so you should be able to understand how I feel right now. I can''t let
Brett do this, the child is my support, my everything. I have nothing now, except for this child. If Brett
takes it away, he will keep me here and continue to hypnotize me, making me lose my memory."
Izabe choked as she spoke.
Tiara''s sense of justice exploded, and she decided to help Izabe, but she was just a maid. What
could she do?
Tiara asked, "What should we do? Shall we call the police?"
Izabe shook her head and said, "It''s useless, Brett has already said that I am mentally ill. If you
call the police, I''m afraid it will involve you too."
Izabe had been in and out with Brett over the past few months, and she had a rough idea of how
powerful he was. There was nothing he couldn''t do.
Upon hearing this, Tiara''s face turned pale, and she stuttered, "Is there really no other way?"
Izabe shook her head, "Tiara, I''ve decided to escape on Monday."
"Escape?" Tiara asked in surprise, "How are you going to get away with it? There are surveince
cameras everywhere, and Adrian is watching you. Even if you do escape, do you have any money?
Not to mention, it''s not easy to find a job when you''re pregnant, and giving birth requires a lot of
money."
With that said, all the problems came out, and Izabe had thought about all these.
She said, "I need your help with the surveince and Adrian part. As for money, Brett gave me a
card, and I n to withdraw the money."
It wasn''t difficult to sabotage a few surveince cameras, but it was important to make sure not to
get discovered.
When a person was determined to do something, all surroundings woulde to help.
Sunday night, a heavy rain suddenly fell, with thunder rolling. There were not just the sound of rain
but the wind as well.
The weather forecast included red rainstorm and typhoon warnings. In less than an hour, the roads
were already flooded.
Brett knew that Izabe was afraid of the dark, especially during thunderstorms. Although he lived in
the office, he wanted to go back to see Izabe but was worried about making her unhappy.
After thinking about it, he called Adrian to ask about the situation.
Adrian answered, "Thedy asked Tiara to sleep with her tonight."
Brett felt a bit disappointed. Izabe would rather ask a maid to apany her when she was
scared, but she never thought of texting him.
"She should be fine with someone apanying her," Brett said to himself, looking at the
thundering sky outside.
On the other hand, at the vi, Tiara secretly turned off the circuit breaker and then broke the
surveince cameras outside.
Even if Brett discovered that the surveince cameras were broken, he wouldn''t suspect that she
had done it. She could say that it was caused by the thunderstorm weather.
On Monday morning, Tiara found an excuse to let Katie apany her to buy groceries, and then
found another reason for Adrian to leave.
Izabe took out Brett''s bank card. In order to make her happy, Brett told her all the passwords.
She put on clothes that were easy to move around. Brett had prepared a lot of jewelry for her, each
worthed a lot, and Izabe chose a few inconspicuous pieces to sell.
Niki the cat seemed to know that she was leaving and kept circling around her legs, attempting to
get her to pick it up.
Izabe squatted down and touched its fluffy little head, poured some fish snacks, and opened a
can of cat food. She then cleaned the cat litter for thest time.

Usually greedy, Niki didn''t even nce at the fish snacks this time. Itid on the ground, rolling
around, and even showed its belly, asking Izabe to touch it.
Izabe couldn''t help herself but picked up Niki and kissed its head, "I''m sorry, I can''t take you with
me."
She was "running for her life" this time, and she couldn''t even protect herself, let alone a cat. She
handed Niki over to Tiara, believing that she would take care of it after she left.
With no one in the vi and the surveince cameras broken, Izabe easily escaped. She carried a
few clothes, took the bank card and some jewelry, and didn''t bring anything else.
The flu season was severe recently, so everyone on the street basically wore masks. Izabe wore
a grey tracksuit, a mask. With her hair down, she waspletely inconspicuous in the crowd.
Izabe observed her surroundings as she walked. She went to several banks and withdrew 30,000
dors in cash, which she put in her backpack. Then she avoided the security cameras and entered
an alley, where she changed her clothes and intentionally wore a wig as a disguise.
Izabe had bought her train ticket in advance and had decided to live in a remote small town. The
cost of living there was low, so even with little money, she could sustain herself. Most importantly,
the ce was remote enough to keep Brett from finding her.
Izabe wasn''t worried at all about Brett discovering that there was 30,000 dors missing from the
ount. Even if he realized it was her who took it, he wouldn''t be able to find her in time because
by then she would have already boarded a train and left.
At the train station, Izabe finally felt that she was going to leave Brett. She wasn''t too sad, nor
particrly happy, but rather calm. Holding her train ticket, she inadvertently nced at the monitor
in the waiting room.
Izabe, with a determined effort, maintained a faint smile and silently said, "I''m leaving." She
wondered if Brett would review the surveince footage here.
At the moment she boarded the train, Izabe felt as if her heart had suddenly copsed. A wave of
desperate pain surged through her, even breathing was excruciating.
She clutched her chest and, after finding her seat, closed her eyes wearily.
In an instant, Brett upied her mind. It was an angry Brett, a Brett who amused her, who knelt on
the ground begging for her forgiveness, and who affectionately dered his love for her.
Her mind was filled with his shadow, every expression of his, vivid and clear, as if they were
appearing before her eyes, entering her heart, over and over again.
There were people everywhere at the train station.
Her train ticket was to A City. Once there, she would transfer to several buses to reach a county
town, or even a small vige.
The 30,000 dors she had wasn''t much, but it was enough to build a house in a remote vige.
Yet, she didn''t n to settle down, as she wanted to avoid being found by Brett.
As she looked at the moving crowd outside the window, Izabe decided to find someone named
Ryker, hoping to regain her memory.
So, her priority was to rent a temporary ce. Before her baby bump became too visible, she
decided to find a job.
Being disabled with her fingers, it was hard for her to find a job. She could try cleaning or
bookkeeping since she was good with numbers.
She wanted to work hard to earn money because pregnancy came with a lot of expenses. She
didn''t want to have no money for form after the baby was born.
Every Monday, the Windham Group held meetings. Now that thepany had entered the J City
market, Brett couldn''t afford to ck off.
During meetings, Brett would either turn his phone on silent or give it to Liam for safekeeping.
Today, while holding Brett’s phone, Liam noticed a vibration, it was a message about a withdrawal of
30,000 dors.
Brett''s ount had a lot of transactions recently, so Liam didn''t think much of it and ignored it.
The phone remained silent afterwards.
The meetingsted around four hours. Brett was focused, patient, andmitted to his work.
Approaching noon, Brett''s phone in Liam''s possession suddenly vibrated. Liam noticed it was a call
from their housekeeper, Adrian.
Adrian rarely called, so it must be something about Izabe. Although Brett prioritized work, Izabe
was more important.
Liam whispered to Brett, “President Windham, Adrian called. Do you want to take the call?”
Brett''s heart suddenly sank, interrupting the meeting and taking the phone with all eyes upon him.
“What happened?” Asked Brett.
On the phone, Adrian asked, “President Windham, I’m just calling to ask whether Izabe is with
you now?”
"What does it mean?!" Brett abruptly stood up from his chair, looking tense. He tightly clenched the
hand holding his phone, his knuckles turning white .
“President Windham,” the housekeeper’s voice trembled, “Izabe is missing.”
Brett''s face turned cold, his hawk-like eyes revealed gloom. His intense aura scared everyone in the
meeting room to not even breathe.
Not hearing what was on the phone, they could only guess what happened that made his face so
ugly.
Could it be a contract issue?
Brett couldn''t hear anything, and had only one thought.
Izabe was gone.
