Facing Zane''s warning, Ken shrugged it off and wiped the blood from his mouth. "Zane, we''ll see
about that."
Zane responded coolly, "I''m ready whenever you are."
Just as Ken was about to say something else, his phone rang. After ncing at the caller ID, Ken''s
face changed slightly. He looked at Zane and Yanis before answering the call and quickly leaving.
The incident ended when Ken left.
Yanis turned to Zane and asked, "Why did you hit him? He didn''t touch me."
Yanis then grabbed a tissue from the table and helped clean up Zane''s wounds. "We''re almost thirty
years old; why are we still so impulsive?"
Zane just looked at Yanis without saying anything.
He bent down slightly so that Yanis could help wipe away the blood on his face.
"Yanis," he said softly.
"Yeah?" she replied.
"I''m sorry," said Zane before pulling her into a hug.
Yanis was taken aback by this sudden gesture in front of all these people watching them. She
whispered for him to let go but he held on tighter instead of loosening up like she had hoped for after
pushing him twice gently with her hands raised in protest until finally giving in to being hugged back by

"Next time I''ll have someone follow you around; otherwise I won''t feel relieved," said Zane knowing that

As for Zanes'' suggestion regarding having someone follow Yanis around just in case anything else

Auntie quickly brought over the medicine box and asked, "Madam, are you injured?" Yanis shook her
head and said, "It''s not me. Please prepare dinner." Auntie replied with an "Okay" and Yanis went
upstairs with the medicine box. Zane greeted Yanis as he entered the door before going upstairs
himself. He stood in front of the bathroom mirror lifting up his shirt to check his injuries when he heard a
noise. Almost reflexively, he put down his shirt when he turned around to face Yanis holding the
medicine box at the door.
Zane casually walked towards Yanis saying, "Why did youe up? I was about to change my clothes
and go downstairs." But Yanis interrupted him sternly saying, "Lift up your shirt." Zane hesitated but
Although it appeared that Zane had won against Ken during their fight earlier on, in reality both of

severe. She asked him if he was hurt but he just shrugged it off saying they were minor injuries.
Yanis turned around and walked out saying,"Come out here so I can help apply some ointment on your
wounds." When she opened a bottle of rubbing alcohol she paused for a moment then suggested that
maybe Zane should take a shower first before she applied any medication because otherwise it might
get washed awayter on.
Zane hesitated briefly then nodded before taking some clothes into the bathroom with him. After
finishing his shower anding back out again, Yanis instructed him to lie down on the bed so she
could apply some ointment onto his wounds herself.
She gently massaged each bruise asking if it hurt or not while applying pressure ordingly. Zanesaid
nothing even though some areas did cause difort. Yanisdidn''t press further knowing how stubborn
men could be sometimes. She finished applying medication onto all visible bruises before telling himto
rest properly now since healing would take time. Their conversation ended there as both remained
silent until eventually falling asleep afterwardsAfter helping Zane apply the medicine, Yanis began to
gather their things. "What''s going on between you and Ken?" he asked.
Zane had intended to get up and talk to Yanis, but he was held down by his friend. "Just lie down for a
bit longer until the medicine dries," Yanis instructed.
Zane had originally nned to get up again, but instead settled back down. "It''s nothing really, just
some unresolved issues," he replied.
"Is it because of what happened in West City?"
Zane didn''t want to say too much at first, but realized that not being honest wouldn''t solve anything
either. So he exined everything to Yanis.
In short, Ken had plotted against Zane and Finnley in West City because he wanted revenge for
Anna. This led to a lot of chaoster on.
After listening carefully to Zane''s exnation, Yanis asked quietly: "Hasn''t the police found Anna yet?"
"Ken helped her leave Manches City so it will take some effort if we want find her now that she is

As soon as Zane got dressed they discussed visiting Anika who hadn''t been eating ormunicating
muchtely ording Dr Wood''s report . She had been sitting alone in her room lost in thought which
was worse than when she first arrived at hospital .
"I''ll make something for her and bring it over," said Yanis without hesitation after hearing about Anika''s
condition .
"I''ll help you," offered Zane standing up along with his friend.
"No need; I''ll ask Auntie (the housekeeper)to help me out," said Yannis walking towards the door
before stopping abruptly "Oh yeah! In two days'' time , I might have go M Country with Mr Walsh ;
should be back within three days."
Upon hearing this news , Zanes stopped mid-action while adjusting his clothes : "You''re leaving for
three days?"
