Chapter 609: Dangerous Houses In Demolition Areas
Chapter 609: Dangerous Houses in Demolition Areas
The hospital room was a single upancy, so it''s OK to have people present. Marnon''s condition
wasn''t stable, and with several people in the room during the day, Mitch insisted on getting a single
upancy room.
After finishing their meal, everyone cleaned up the hospital room. Reed then asked his younger siblings
to go back to their rented apartment.
Upon hearing this, Yanis looked at Reed and asked, "Is your apartment far from here?"
Mia stood by holding a chicken leg and said, "It''s quite a long drive."
Yanis nced at Mia''s face and reached over to wipe her mouth with a napkin. "I''ll take you guys back
When Marnon heard Yanis'' offer, he immediately refused, "Let them take a bus back; there are too
many people for your car."
Reed nodded in agreement, "The bus ride is only half an hour away; it''s not far at all. Mia just thinks it
takes too long."
"It''s not that... uhh..." Mia didn''t finish her sentence as Natasha stuffed the chicken leg into her mouth
before she could say anything else.
Mia blinked her eyes at Natasha, but decided not to say anything more because she was smart enough
to understand what had happened.
Yanis and Bonnie both saw what happened, but pretended they hadn''t noticed anything as they chatted
with Marnon for a while before leaving together along with some of the Miller kids.
The group walked down together like an army marching forward; they filled the entire elevator when
going down from upstairs.
Once downstairs Yanis turned to Reed asking him if he would send his siblings off at the bus stop.
Reed nodded his head and said, "I''m afraid they might take the wrong direction."
Yanis checked his watch, then turned to Bonnie, asking if she was in a hurry to deal with the work in
the afternoon.
Bonnie shook her head, saying,"No rush; I can go around three or four o''clock."
Yanis suggested,"How about we ask Myles where he is right now? We can use two cars to send them
home."
Bonnie agreed, nodding her head as she took out her phone and dialed Myles'' number.
Myles answered quickly, "Bonnie?"
"Where are you?"
"At home. What''s wrong?"
"I''m here with Yanis at St. Mary Hospital. Could youe pick us up?"
"No problem. I''ll be right over."
Bonnie said, "Drive your biggest car, the one that can fit a lot of people."
When Myles heard this, he asked, "Should I drive my brother''s SUV over there?"
Bonnie replied, "That works, too. Hurry up."
Myles nodded and said, "It''ll take about fifteen minutes. Wait for me over there."
After Bonnie responded with an affirmative and hung up the phone.
Yanis looked at Reed and said, "You go upstairs to take care of your mom. I''ll take Mia and them back
home. Don''t tell your mom about this."
Reed hesitated.
Bonnie also spoke up,"We have two cars that can fit everyone."
"But it''s too much trouble for you guys," Reed protested.
Yanis looked at Reed and said," You go upstairs. If your mom needs water or anything else, you can
look after her."
Under Yanis'' persuasion, Reed went upstairs first.
Yanis waited with Mia and them in front of the hospital for a while before Myles arrived quickly in about
ten minutes.
As soon as he got out of the car and saw so many children standing next to Bonnie and Yanis, he was
slightly stunned: "Where did you get so many kids from? Are you trafficking them?"
Upon hearing Myles'' words, Mia hid behind Yanis a little bit.
Myles quickly added: "... I''m not a bad person."
Bonnie nced at him," You drive my car; I''ll drive yours."
"Can you handle it?" Myles asked skeptically.
Bonnie red at him fiercely.
Myles hurriedly handed over his keys to Bonnie,"I''ll follow behind you guys, but all of they four will ride
in your car?"
"You don''t look like a good person; just follow us from behind," Bonnie retorted.
Bonnie drove while Yanis sat in the passenger seat with Mia and her siblings sitting in the backseat.
As they drove off Bonnie asked Yanis," Do you know where we''re going?"
Yanis nodded and gave the address Mitch had told herst night.
After giving Bonnie directions, Yanis turned around to ask Natasha, "Natasha, do you know exactly
where it is?"
Natasha nodded, "We know."
The ride was quiet throughout their journey from hospital to Mia''s ce, which took forty minutes
without waiting for any red lights along their way .
If taking public transportation, it would take more than an hour and a half due to frequent stops .
When they arrived at their destination, Bonnie saw some buildings outside through her window, and
couldn''t help but furrow her eyebrows slightly,"Isn''t this area supposed to be demolished?"After Bonnie
finished speaking, she looked at Yanis and asked, "Do they live in this demolition area?"
Yanis nced outside the car window with aplicated expression. This area had been nned for
demolition several months ago. Most of the residents had already moved out, leaving only stubborn
elderly people who didn''t want to leave or families who were determined to stay despite beingbeled
illegal upants.
However, most people had long since left this ce. The surrounding oldmercial street was also
sparsely popted; some merchants left after receivingpensation.
After looking around for a while, Yanis got out of the car and opened the back door. "Natasha, do you
live here?"
Natasha nodded and pointed to a building in front of them. "It''s over there; it''s very spacious with four
rooms inside. Everything is clean andplete; my brother and sister said it''s great."
Mia also came forward and said excitedly, "I like it too!"
Yanis rubbed Mia''s head affectionately before asking if they could go upstairs.
Myles'' car was parked on one side at this time; he got off the car and looked at Bonnie suspiciously:
"Did you guys take a wrong turn? This is all demolition area with no one living here."
Bonnie replied firmly: "Nope! This is exactly where we''re supposed to be."
Myles frowned slightly as he looked towards the kids.
Yanis and Bonnie went into an empty building that somehow seemed unsafe – its emptiness gave off
an uneasy feeling.
The rental house was indeed spacious enough, butcked furniture except for three makeshift beds
made from boardsid on the floor.
"Are there people living here?" Myles turned once before looking towards Bonnie skeptically.

Bonnie nodded her head exining that housing prices in downtown areas were very high – even
renting would cost more than two thousand dors per month!
Today when she saw Marnon''s medical records in hospital room which showed how much money her
illness required – being able to stay at St Mary Hospital was already considered good enough! And
earning such money wasn''t easy either!
"Natasha," Yanis asked after seeing everything inside, "do you know how much rent is here?"
