 "He really is an impostor, isn''t he?" said one of the soldiers staring at them.

 Hearing that caused Exce to raise her voice in response while moving her gaze toward the surrounding men.

 "I-Impostor!? That''s not the case! Lord Suzuki is!"

 "Don''t worry about me! Please calm down, Exce."

 Takashi was d that Exce was angry on his behalf as if she was the one who was being criticized.

 However, the soldiers'' ridicule did not stop, and Exce shouted angrily.

 "Enough is enough!! Lord Impostor is not Suzuki at all!"

 "No, Exce!? You''re a bit of a wreck?! You really need to calm down!!"

 Seeing Takashi and Exce like that, the soldiersughed even harder. Marguerite called for them to quiet down in a hushed tone, but even her voice got drowned out by the soldiers'' mockery.

 "I said to quiet down!!"

 Her voice and tone were loud and booming, creating a sharp contrast from her previous calm tone.

 "Y''all fools!! The power of Lord Suzuki is real! The fact that he is still alive in Leirune, where the Thunder-Lance charge rules, is proof enough of that!"

 The brawny soldiers fell silent at Marguerite''smanding words. Marguerite bowed her head to Takashi.

 "I apologize for that. It seems that Lord Suzuki himself has some ns of his own. Looks like we''ll have to revise our original n."

 Takashi was relieved. They had spent a lot of time building a rtionship with the Nephira and the other demons. He really wanted to avoid such a dangerous settlement as killing everyone.

 (Fueh. I''m d Ms. Marguerite is a reasonable person.) 

 "Let''s take a moment to discuss the current situation. Sir Orneo, do you mind?" 

 "Uh-huh." 

 Marguerite singled out Orneo, and the two walked to arge tent. 

 ...... 

 After Marguerite and Orneo left, the soldiers led them to a small tent where Takashi and Exce sat next to each other. 

 "C-Cheer up, please! Lord Hero!" 

 "Ah, yeah! I''m totally FINE!" 

 Although he was acting cheerful in front of Exce, Takashi felt depressed inside. 

 As the soldiersughed at him, he thought his abilities were meager. Just as he was doing his best, trying to make the world a better ce, God gave him notice that he was out of the job. It naturally depressed him. 

 Suddenly, he heard footsteps outside, stepping on gravel. 

 "Excuse me." 

 While saying those words, Marguerite''s daughter, Noelle, entered the tent. She was holding a bottle and sses on a tray. After cing the tray on the wooden table, Noelle sat down near Takashi and Exce. 

 "I''m sorry about earlier. I hope you will forgive my soldiers for their rudeness." 

 After speaking, she bowed her head deeply. 

 "It''s fine! Since I don''t mind." 

 "I think it is difficult for people to ept------coexistence with demons. To be honest, even I have my doubts about how that could even be possible." 

 "I have seen the power of Lord Hero up close and personal! Coexistence is not a pipedream!" 

 "The Hero''s power, huh? Excuse me for a moment..." 

 Suddenly, Noelle''s face came close to Takashi''s, leaving him perplexed. Noelle''s left eye was soon covered by a blue mist. 

 "Offensive power, defensive power, agility------ All in single digits." 

 (Ah---. Did she see my stat values?) 

 Noelle apparently could see the stat values of other people. Next, she turned her attention to Exce. 

 "...Princess Exce has higher stat values" 

 "No, Unbelievable! I, have a lower stats than Exce." 

 "I-I have acquired, some martial arts training!" 

 (Maybe being a former princess gave her ess to a gifted education... but, did they make Exce RUN!? I, I''m in good health, and I''m still behind!? I''m shocked!!) 

 "The power of the Lord Hero is, is different from that of simple military might!!" 

 "I see. That was my bad." 

 Noelle took the sses from the tray and offered them to Takashi and Exce. 

 "This is my apology." 

 Noelle tilted the bottle. The red liquid was poured into Takashi and Exce''s sses. 

 "The Empire is proud of its wines. It tastes good." 

 "I, will have some!" 

 Perhaps a little excited, she took the ss from him as if to snatch it away. Takashi was surprised when she sipped it as if it were natural. 

 "U-Uhm, how old are you Exce?" 

 "I''ll be 16 this year." 

 (She''s one year younger than me, and yet she drinks alcohol...) 

 This is not the world where he came from. Takashi kept his mouth shut, feeling that it was wrong to go into details about her alcohol drinking. Noelle gave him a curious look. 

 "You won''t drink?" she asked. 

 "Ahh. I''ll pass!" 

 "How old are you Suzuki?" 

 "I''m seventeen years old, but---" Takashi started but was cut off by Noelle''s words. 

 "I''m the same age as you. You at least know how to drink, right?" 

 In this world, it is not against thew. Still, feeling somewhat ufortable, Takashi declined the wine. 

 "Ahaha. I hate to say it, but you really are not a hero." 

 Noelleughed as if looking at something funny.
