Chapter 2075 Having A Tantrum

    Chapter 2075 Having A Tantrum

When I avoided Sheryl''s gaze, Sheryl knew something was wrong. She was thinking of a way to get

I to tell her the truth when she noticed what I was holding.

It looked very familiar to Sheryl. Sheryl thought for a while and remembered that it was the same

lunchbox Melissa and Nancy had brought to her when they came to visit.

Sheryl immediately figured it out. She asked I, "How are you and Melissa?"

I blinked repeatedly. Stammering, she responded, "I just asked her not toe and visit you."

    "And?" Sheryl pressed.

Sheryl knew I too well. She highly doubted that I was just trying to help Melissa by bringing Sheryl

the food Melissa and Nancy had cooked for her. Sheryl could only guess that I and Melissa must

    have had a spat.

"Fine. Nancy and Melissa were here, but I didn''t want to fight with Melissa in front of Nancy," I

    confessed, holding her hands up.

Sheryl nodded as she knew I was telling her the truth right now.

"Stop thinking about Melissa, Sheryl. Melissa is Charles'' mother. I don''t want to get into trouble with the

Shining Company. Now let''s just eat all this food. Nancy prepared it for you! It''s been a while since I''ve

had her cooking. I can''t wait to try these!" I said a bit too enthusiastically as she noticed that Sheryl

seemed to be lost in thought.

"Hmm, it does smell good." Sheryl took a deep breath. She felt like she was back in the Dream Garden

    again.

When she used to live in the Dream Garden, although Sheryl didn''t get along with Melissa, she and

Nancy were friends. They were like a family. And whenever Melissa wasn''t home, Sheryl would invite

    Belonging to N?velDrama.Org.

I toe over and have dinner together. Sheryl really missed those good old days.

"Sher, you know what? If Charles wasn''t with Vicky, I''d be fine with you going back to him. But you can

clearly see what''s happening now. Charles obviously still cares about you, but Vicky''s standing in your

way. Are you just going to put up with that woman and continue this messy rtionship? Are you sure

you want to do that?" I was finally able to gather the courage to ask Sheryl this. She grabbed the

opportunity as she could tell Sheryl was in a good mood.

Sheryl''s hand remained frozen midair. She didn''t know what to say upon hearing this as she didn''t

    know how to respond.

After a while, Sheryl pursed her lips and put down the chopsticks. She looked into I''s eyes and

asked seriously, "Why do you think I''m going back to Charles?"

"Come on, Sheryl. You kept calling his name while you were asleep just now. If you''ve really moved on,

as you said, you wouldn''t think about him all the time, whether you''re happy or sad. You can''t lie to me

    about this!" I said frankly.

"That''s because…" Sheryl didn''t know how to defend herself.

"Fine, Sheryl. I won''t push you. Charles is the only man you''ve loved. You need to figure this out by

yourself. But promise me, take care of yourself and don''t ever get yourself hurt again, okay?" I said,

rather sincerely as she held Sheryl''s hands tightly.

    "I will, I. I''ll think it through, don''t worry."

"As long as you know what to do." I smiled then she continued eating.

After dinner, I apanied Sheryl for a while before heading back home.

"There are a few men standing outside. I guess they''re the bodyguards Charles sent. So you''re safe for

tonight. No one''s going toe and bother you. See you tomorrow."

Although I didn''t like Charles, she had to admit that Charles was very serious and thoughtful when it

came to protecting Sheryl. Every time the journalists wanted to sneak in, the bodyguards would be able

    to stop them.

"See you tomorrow, I. Oh, and drive safely!"

Sheryl walked toward the window and looked out, watching I drive off. She couldn''t help but feel like

a burden. She couldn''t protect herself, and the people who cared about her always worried about her.

Standing at the window, Sheryl didn''t notice Charles, who was standing near the hospital building.

When Melissa and Nancy had left to go to the hospital, Charles had found himself not being able to sit

still at home. He was worried about Sheryl, so he had decided to go to the hospital too.

He and David took a tour around the hospital and found a perfect spot from where he could see

Sheryl''s ward without her noticing him. Although he was standing far away from her now, he could tell

    she was upset.

David noticed Charles frowning. He kept to himself and just stood next to Charles quietly.

Suddenly, Charles'' phone rang, breaking the silence.

Charles looked at his phone screen. It was Vicky.

Charles had been busy taking care of Sheryltely. He had almost forgotten about Vicky.

"What did you find from your investigation? Does Vicky have anything to do with this?" Somehow,

Charles felt like it wasn''t a coincidence. Why would an anonymous message be sent to Vicky, telling

her that Sheryl and Damian were sharing a hotel room together?

Charles wasn''t a skeptical person, except when it came to Sheryl. He was going to get to the bottom of

this no matter what it took.

David was surprised as he shook his head and answered, "No, but she did receive an anonymous call

that day. She also made a few calls herself too, and she was using an unregistered number. We

haven''t been able to trace who it was."

"Keep looking," Charles said. Then he answered the call, "Hello?" His voice was irritable when he

    spoke.

"Charles, it''s been a few days since youst came to see me. Have you been busy?" Vicky asked

    gently.

Vicky''s voice made Charles sick, and David noticed that Charles'' face grew dreary.

"Yes, very busy," Charles answered briefly.

Vicky didn''t want to make herself sound too aggressive, so she nodded her head and said, "Fine, I

shouldn''t have called you. I''ve probably disturbed you. Just call me when you''re done with work."

    "Uh-huh."

Charles then hung up. He seemed really ufortable.

Vicky frowned when she heard that Charles had hung up on her. ''Do you not want to talk to me,

Charles? What is it about Sheryl? Why can''t you just let her go? Am I really that bad inparison to

    her?'' Vicky thought to herself.

Whenever Vicky thought of Sheryl, it put her in a bad mood. At that moment, she angrily threw her tea

    cup on the floor.

Ste, who was in the kitchen, heard the noise and immediately came out to see what was happening

    with Vicky.

"What? You''ve never seen a person have a tantrum before?" Vicky only grew even more furious when

she saw Ste as Ste was only here because Charles had sent her to keep an eye on her.

Ste didn''t say a word. She quickly went back to the kitchen and continued working.

The more she thought about it, the angrier Vicky became. She grabbed her phone and went upstairs.

After she was sure that Ste hadn''t followed her, she dialed a number. The phone rang and rang, but

    no one was answering.
