Chapter 1758 The Warning.
Rex''s voice came thundering into Holley''s ears through the phone. Holley got so scared to hear his
voice that she forgot what to say.
After a while, when Holley recovered from Rex''s intimidating voice, she understood Rex''s love and
concern towards ck as a father. But how could he threaten Holley after his son had been taken
away by somebody? How could he say that he would teach Holley a lesson? Wasn''t he supposed to
find his son as soon as possible?
Holley was surprised. Rex''s reaction was beyond her expectation. She was unable to gauge what
exactly could have gone wrong.
All of a sudden, she realized that the people who had taken ck away were sent by Rex. Holley
heaved a sigh, and her chest felt a lot lighter as soon as she figured it out.
On the other end of the phone, Rex continued to hurl rebukes at Holley. He didn''t have a single nice
word to say to her.
"Holley Ye, I am warning you for thest time. If you show up again, don''t me me for neglecting
ck''s dignity." After hurling as many heartless remarks and threats at Holley as possible, Rex hung
up the phone.
Holley was certainly clear about the fact that she couldn''t expect any respect from Rex. However, being
assured about ck''s safety relieved her so much that even after she had been so brutally insulted by
Rex, her lips curved into a mild smile.
But the smile faded too soon and was reced by a gloomy face all over again. After Rex ended the
call, Holley put her cell phone aside. A frown appeared on her face as soon as she thought of Ferry.
What if he found out Jason was gone? She would be in trouble.
What if Ferry held Holley responsible for Jason''s leaving right before the marriage? He would never
pardon her for that.
At the moment, Holley didn''t have much choice other than to pray that Ferry didn''t send his men to
follow her. Then he would never get to know what happened between her and ck.
After much consideration, Holley finally decided to call Ferry. Anyway, she had to make a bet.
Otherwise, Ferry would not spare her life.
With bated breath, she waited for Ferry to answer her call. At every sound of the dialing tone, she was
tempted to end the call to save herself from confronting Ferry, but she held on. Ferry answered the
phone after a long while.
He was surprised to see Holley''s name shing on his phone screen. He checked the time and
assumed that Rex''s n must have beenpleted. Why would Holley call him at this time?
Thinking about it, Ferry answered the call.
"Jason is missing. I don''t know where he has gone," Holley blurted even before Ferry could speak. She
didn''t want to give him a chance to nder her.
Ferry red up in anger as soon as Holley''s words reached his ears. Even he had never expected that
Holley''s call would make him so angry.
"Pardon?" Ferry asked Holley in a very harsh and unforgiving voice.
Holley had known that Ferry would get furious.
That one word uttered by Ferry sent a chill down her spine. With cold sweat tricking down her back,
she suddenly felt nervous and tired.
With her knees trembling and her heart throbbing heavily against her chest, Holley was waiting for
Ferry''s instructions. However, to her utter surprise, Ferry remained silent. If the phone didn''t show the
line to be connected, she might have thought that he had hung up.
"What should I do now?" Holley tried her best to hold back for a while, but couldn''t help asking
cautiously.
"Holley, was it you who caused it?" Ferry asked sarcastically.
Holley knew Ferry would suspect her. She shook her head instinctively. She wanted to tell him that it
had nothing to do with her. Then she realized that she was only talking with him over the phone, and he
couldn''t see her expression.
"No. I did nothing. Believe me. I got to the marriage registration office early in the morning. But Jason
didn''t show up. After waiting for a long time, I called him, but his cell phone was switched off. I was left
with no other choice than to call you," Holley exined in a hurry. There was a moment of silence on
the other side. Holley waited to hear Ferry''s voice. His silence felt scarier than his words.
"Holley, do you think you can escape because you let Jason leave?" Ferry had a long face as he
rebuked Holley. His eyes were still and calm, exuding a cold and lethal expression as he held the cell
phone. His voice was devoid of any emotion as he spoke to Holley.
Holley held her breath as Ferry''s threatening voice reached her ears. She realized that he was in a bad
mood, and she wouldn''t say anything to invite trouble.
"Holley, do you think that I can''t bear to kill you?" Ferry continued in the same lethal voice, not sparing
a moment for Holley to even take a breath.
Originally, the entire thing was nned collectively by Rex and Ferry. It was Rex who had approached
Ferry with the idea, and thetter agreed to be a part of his scheme. Thus they had nned for Jason
to marry Holley. But, Jason''s disappearance at such a crucial time has now tipped all their ns upside
down. Ferry was confident that Jason could not have gone missing just like that. There must be
somebody behind it.
At the same time, Ferry also knew that Holley was not capable enough to influence Jason''s decision.

"I didn''t do it. Trust me, Ferry. If I didn''t want to marry Jason, I wouldn''t havee to the marriage
registration office. He is one of your loyal men. How can I make him disappear?" Holley tried her best
to prove her innocence.
However, she was sure that Ferry didn''t believe a single word she uttered. Hence, she expressed her
loyalty to him thoroughly.
But Ferry remained silent for a long time as if he didn''t even hear her.
Holley could feel her throat getting dry after talking so much. Atst, she had nothing to say, so she had
to wait.
Then Ferry finally responded in the same t and cold tone, "Be well-behaved and wait for my next
instruction. If Ie to know that you have done anything secretively, I will take the life from you. I
promise you that."
"Okay, I see. I won''t. I promise you."
Holley nodded obediently as she stammered a reply to Ferry''s warning.
After that, Ferry hung up. Holley sat there with a nk expression for a long time. She didn''t know how
to react. She had been waiting for the whole day. Had it not been for the cool breeze, she might not
have even realized that it was evening now.
Holley nced around at the city under the moonlight. At the moment, she didn''t have a single soul she
could turn to for sce nor a single ce where she could hide from the lethal and prying eyes of
Ferry. ck was taken away by Rex, and she could do nothing but live on in degradation. If Ferry was
unhappy someday, she might even lose her life.
Nevertheless, Holley dragged herself back home. Once she reached home, she dropped on the couch
and thought of what had happened that day. She still couldn''t help trembling at the very thought of the

all she wanted was to just shut down all the noise inside her mind and go to sleep.
Holley endured the pain. She closed her eyes, forcing herself to fall asleep.

It was aplete mess in the house. Rex had reached the brink of his patience. Even after trying so
many different means, he could not make ck forget Holley. Rex was furious and lost his temper at
home.
When ck saw that the people in ck brought him to his home, he realized who had employed
them. He was seething in rage but was unable to do anything because he had been tied up by them.
After arriving at the vi, ck did not spare the kidnappers when they released him. He kicked them
several times to vent his anger and red at them balefully. However, he knew that they were merely
pawns. The mastermind behind all this was right inside the house. He brushed himself off and rushed
in.
