Chapter 1699 Master
The atmosphere was dense as they ate their meal. Charles finished quickly. Just as he was getting up,
Melissa stopped him.
"Le wille with you. She can take care of you when you get drunk." Melissa was looking for any
way to get Le and Charles together, so she didn''t hesitate to grab this opportunity.
Upon hearing this, Charles frowned. Le chimed in, "Aunt Melissa, I don''t really know Charles'' friends.
It''ll be awkward if Ie with him. I''ll just stay here at home."
Melissa couldn''t help but feel confused. She thought they were on the same page. Was Le suddenly
changing her mind?
"Charles, call me when you''re done. I''ll pick you up," Le said softly.
"Hmm." After which, Charles left with an unreadable expression on his face.
After he left the Dream Garden, Melissa asked Le, "Le, I was just trying to get you and Charles
together. Why''d you do that?"
"Aunt Melissa, I just knew Charles wouldn''t agree, and even if he did take me, who''s to say how he''s
going to treat me when we get there?" Le looked at Melissa in dismay as if she just knew what was
going to happen.
Melissa heaved a small sigh of relief upon hearing this. "Well, it''s better than nothing."
However, Melissa still felt it was an unreasonable course of action.
Le grabbed Melissa''s hand and looked her in the eye. "Aunt Melissa, I just think it''s better if I wait
until he gets home. If he''s drunk then I''ll get a chance, right?"
Melissa''s face brightened at this. She was proud that Le had thought of this. "That''s so clever. Why
didn''t I think of that? At least I didn''t to stop your n."
Melissa then saw in her mind what Le''s n was—a drunk man and a seductive woman in one
room. Anything could happen.
It was what they both wanted, but they hadn''t expected that they''d get an opportunity right away.
"Let''s just hope it works."
After that, they returned to their own rooms. They knew Charles wouldn''te back until muchter
that night.
At Cloud Advertising Company
Sheryl went straight home after she finished work.
She saw Nick and Cassie were in her house when she got home.
"Sher, we forgot to tell you that we wereing, but you won''t kick us out, will you?" Cassie walked
towards Sheryl, caught her hand and shook it with a big smile.
Sheryl smiled back warmly and said, "I''m happy that you''re here with my children. Why would I kick you

out?" She put down her coat and then approached Shirley.
"Mummy, Uncle Nick and Aunt Cassie taught us so many things today. Brother already knows all of
them, but not me yet." Shirley raised her delicate face and showed Sheryl the little toy in her hand.
Sheryl sat down and took it. "Are they pieced together?"
"Yes!"
"But brother made it, and I haven''t finished yet." Then Shirley looked at the unfinished toy lying on the
floor in dismay.
Sheryl smiled and stroked her hair. "That''s okay, Shirley. Since your brother now knows how to do it, he
can teach youter."
"That''s great!"
Sheryl looked around but couldn''t see rk. Before she could ask, rk suddenly came out of the
bedroom.
Nick walked towards rk first. "Have you finished it?"
"Yes!" rk smiled at Nick.
Sheryl wanted to ask what they were doing, but before she could open her mouth, rk had already
scurried over to her. He handed her what he''d been hiding behind his back. "Mummy, it''s for you!"
"Wow, what''s this?" Sheryl looked at rk expectantly.
rk just motioned her to open the little box, so she did so.
She was surprised to see that it was the music box she had wanted for a long time. It was a limited
edition. But she was very busy when it went on sale in the Jewelry shop, so she wasn''t able to get it.
She was upset about it for a few days. Sheryl didn''t expect that rk would be so sweet as to do this.
"Uncle Nick said that you wanted this. So Shirley and I studied how to make one with him and Aunt
Cassie. We''ve been working on it for the past few days. It isn''t as nice as the other music boxes, but it
ys your favorite song!" rk exined.
Sheryl was moved to tears.
"Sher, stop crying! We spent many days working on this. We just wanted you to be happy, especially
the kids." Nick pretended to scold Sheryl.
Sheryl nodded as a smile broke onto her face.
Things weren''t going as smoothly in the Dream Garden as it was in Sheryl''s house.
After Charles left, Melissa went to bed early. But Le just waited for him in her room, unable to fall
asleep. It was gettingter andter, and Charles still hadn''te back. She worried that he might not
Le knew Charles was very disciplined. He wouldn''t just get drunk for no reason at all. He rarely got
upset like this, and that was the only reason why he was out drinking. She knew that Charles would get
drunk tonight, and she didn''t want to miss this chance.
Le was burning with anxiety. Just then, she heard the door open.
She quickly got up and headed to the door. Gently opening the door, she saw Charles standing
downstairs.
Her eyes were gleaming. She lowered the cor of her silk, low-cut pajamas before she quickly headed
downstairs.
"Mr. Charles, you''re drunk." Nancy had heard the noise, thus bringing her out of her room. She was
worried, upon seeing Charles in such a state.
"I''m okay, Nancy." Charles looked very inebriated. As he answered Nancy, as he looked at a nk
space at the wall.
"Nancy, you can go back to sleep. I''ll take care of Charles." Le didn''t want Nancy to suddenly foil her
n, so she sent Nancy to bed right away.
Nancy, however, didn''t want to leave. She ignored Le and poured a ss of water for Charles in the
kitchen.
"Nancy, I can help you." Le looked at Nancy and swiftly grabbed the ss of water in her hand.
Nancy tried to get the ss back. "Miss Le, I''m the servant of the Lu family. It''s my duty to take care
of Mr. Charles!"
"Nancy, are you aware that you''re only a servant? So, as your master, I''m ordering you to leave right
now. Now go!" Le looked at her arrogantly.
