Chapter 1614 What Do You Want To Do
Meanwhile in the vi in the suburbs
Although Bernard had told Rachel not to wait for him, she knew he had gone out to kill somebody, so
how could she fall asleep?
Rachel was sleepily sitting in the living room when she heard the sound of the door. She perked up and
looked around as she became alert again. When she saw it was Bernarding in, she sighed in
relief.
Her expression soon changed when she saw that there were injuries all over Bernard''s body. She
couldn''t help but cover her mouth in horror and was too shocked to say anything for several minutes
after seeing him.
Bernard''s body was covered in blood when he came in. It was lucky that Rachel didn''t faint in fear.
"Bernard, how are you? Are you okay?" With tears streaming from her eyes, Rachel helped Bernard to
sit down and then continued, "I''m going to call an ambnce for you, okay?"
Hearing this, Bernard waved his hand and refused her n before answering, "No, Rachel, I can''t. If I
go to the hospital, my identity will be exposed. I can''t let them know it was me."
After he spoke, Bernard slumped over and passed out.
No matter how much Rachel shouted or shook him, he didn''t give any reaction.
With trembling hands, Rachel had to clean and treat Bernard''s wounds. Seeing his body covered with
blood and with gaping wounds of torn flesh, she wanted to throw up several times but controlled
herself. After bandaging the wounds, she couldn''t stand it anymore and went to throw up in the
washroom.
Rachel walked shakily out of the washroom and felt like she had emptied her entire stomach. She had
never before seen anybody injured as badly as Bernard was. Looking at the side of Bernard''s face, she
couldn''t help but shed tears again.
Bernard was still unconscious after Rachel had cleaned up all of his injuries. She was afraid that there
was something wrong with him, so she stayed by his side, hoping he would wake up soon.
At midnight, Bernard suddenly developed a fever. Rachel took care of him the best she could and
lowered his temperature with medicine and a coldpress.
Bernard''s fever spiked several times through the night, and she had to continue to try and break the
fevers. It was almost dawn when he finally stopped running a fever. Rachel was so tired that she fell
asleep at that point.
The next day
Bernard woke up. When he saw Rachel sleeping at his bedside, he was moved. Her face was tired and
scrunched up from worry even while she slept.
He touched Rachel''s cheek gently and smiled down at her gratefully. It appeared that he thought
everything he had done was worthwhile if he could be close to her.
Seeing that Rachel was not going to wake up anytime soon, Bernard didn''t dare to move, and just
watched her sleep instead. He knew that she must be tired after taking care of himst night and hoped
that she would be able to rest.
Back at the hospital
The head nurse was shouting angrily at the nurse filling in for Cassie''s shift, "Where the hell is Cassie?
Last night she was loafing around on the job. What is the matter with her recently?" The head nurse
was irritable these days because she was going through a divorce. Cassie had been busy looking after
Sheryl the night before, so the head nurse had used her of loafing.
The head nurse hadn''t seen Cassie for a whole night but wasn''t at all worried that there could be
something wrong with her.
Cora, who was covering Cassie''s shift, felt surprised at the callous reaction. She looked at the head
nurse and retorted, "Madam, don''t you know what kind of person Cassie is? Cassie has worked here
for so many years. When has she ever loafed on the job? You haven''t seen her for a whole night!
Shouldn''t you rather be worried that she could be in danger?"
"This is a hospital, how could she be in danger from working here?" The head nurse was even less
pleased when she heard Cora''s retort.
The nurses around them saw that Cora and the head nurse were getting into an argument and stepped
in to stop them.
"Head Nurse, it''s time to clock off. Please, go back home. Let us handle everything. Cora, call Cassie
now and ask where exactly she is," Mary Zhang said to Cora as she pulled the head nurse away.
Cora shrugged helplessly. "There was no answer on her phone. I tried several times to call herst
night."
"She didn''t answer the phone all night?" Mary was an experienced nurse and had taught Cassie when
she had started to work in the hospital. They got along well, and Mary thought of Cassie as her sister.
She couldn''t help worrying about Cassie after hearing this news.
Mary saw that the head nurse had already walked far away and didn''t call out to her. She then spoke to
the nurses who would be getting off work soon, "Can you go to look for Cassie and check if she is still
in the hospital, please? Cora, continue to call her and see if you can find her cell phone. I will call Nick
and ask if he knows where she is." Mary realized the seriousness of the matter and didn''t report
anything to the head nurse. She decided to act on her own instead.
The nurses noticed the unusually worried expression on Mary''s face, so they didn''t dare to disobey her.
They started to look for Cassie everywhere like she had told them to.
Before Mary had the chance to call Nick, he arrived at the hospital.
Nick was out of breath and immediately asked, "Mary, where is Cassie? I called her all night, but she
didn''t answer her phone. Were you that busy in the hospitalst night?"
Cassie had workedte at the hospital before, so Nick didn''t initially think much of it, but after the whole
night had gone by, Cassie still hadn''t called him back. He was worried about her and came to the
hospital early in the morning to see if she was okay.
Hearing that Nick was looking for her too, Mary was now sure that there was something wrong with
Cassie.
Mary told Nick what she knew, and he also joined the search for Cassie in the hospital.
Cora was the one who found Cassie. Cleverly, Cora had asked the nurse on duty with Cassie where
she hadst seen her. The nurse had seen Cassie disappear into the intensive care unit, so Cora had
checked the video monitors and saw Cassie head up to the roof.
When Cassie was carried back down on a stretcher, Nick couldn''t believe it at first. He stood aside
nkly and didn''t have any reaction for a long time.
When Cassie was pushed into the operating room, Nick finally came to his senses. He looked at Cora,
whose face was pale and bloodless, and he asked, "What on earth happened?"
Cora looked stunned. When she found Cassie, Cassie was so weak that she almost wasn''t breathing.
She checked the time and realized that Cassie had been lying unconscious for several hours in the
stairwell. Cassie had missed the best time for treatment, and Cora didn''t know if Cassie would be able
to pull through.
Nick didn''t stay waiting outside the operating room. Cora noticed his strange expression and knew he
would go to look for the culprit, so she ran after him.
"Nick, Cassie needs you now!" Cora gripped Nick''s arm to stop him.
Nick didn''t show any mercy and shook his arm out of Cora''s grip, pointing at her. "You said that the
video showed that Cassie had gone up to the roof with Le. I don''t believe that she would have fallen
down the stairs for no reason. It must be rted to Le! I am going to look for that woman and make
her confess what she did."
Before Cora could answer, Nick rushed toward the intensive care unit in a blind rage.
Melissa and Le weren''t there anymore, though. Nick didn''t find Le after searching for a while, so he
decided to head over to Dream Garden.
In the Dream Garden, Le and Melissa were preparing to return to the hospital. As soon as Le
opened the door, she saw Nick standing right outside.
"What do you want? Are you trying to scare me to death?"
Even though Le had pushed Cassie downstairs, she didn''t feel any guilt at the sight of Cassie''s
boyfriend. Moreover, she even lookedpletely indifferent, as if nothing had happened. This content ? N?v/elDr(a)m/a.Org.
