Chapter 1529 What Would Happen If I Didn''t Make It
In the hotel, Le walked into her room and fell onto her bed immediately after she helped Melissa in
cleaning up her mess. She had been so uptight the entire night. And now she could finally rx and
have some time for herself.
Closing her eyes, sheid in bed even if she wasn''t sleepy at all. She was still trying toe up with
the perfect exnation so she could win Melissa''s trust tomorrow.
Le was surprised when she got the call from Holley. But it was a good opportunity for Le to make
up with Melissa.
Le knew Melissa very well. She would be grateful since she helped her. But how long would that
appreciationst? Probably a couple of hours. This thought made Leugh. She looked down at such
kind of person.
A few dayster, Melissa would totally forget what Le had done for her. Just like when she kicked
Le out of the Lu family. No matter what Le said, Melissa wouldn''t change her mind. And when Le
asked for her help after that day, Melissa ignored her calls and messages, totally putting away the fact
that Le had helped her when she was in prison. Melissa was a selfish woman. She only cared about
her personal interest and she never returned favors.
Therefore, Le needed to seize this opportunity. Not only did she need to win Melissa''s trust, but she
also needed to force Melissa into taking her back to the Lu family, the sooner, the better. Otherwise, all
her efforts would be in vain.
Opening her eyes again, Le got lost in thought as she stared at the ceiling.
Since she got locked in the little dark room, Melissa had been anxious and nervous. Waking up from a

Melissa was upset and frustrated. Comparing her situation now, she felt like the days back in prison
were way better. At least, back then she felt safe. Now, she had no idea what woulde at her. It
made her afraid and worried.
Melissa''s mind was muddled. She wished that someone woulde to save her and she swore to
herself that she would do her best to return the favor and forever be grateful. She prayed constantly,
wondering whether God could hear her.
Melissa stared at the ceiling, and then she closed her eyes. She had been in the darkness for such a
long time that she couldn''t even tell whether it was day or night. Her eyes were already dry and
swollen. She rubbed them carelessly.
Just then, Melissa heard some noises from outside the door, which was unbelievable. She wondered if
she was hallucinating.
But she heard the noise again.
Someone opened the door from the outside and walked in.
Instinctively, Melissa looked at the door, trying to figure out who it was. She opened her mouth but no
sound came out, as if something was stuck in her throat.
Fear and anxiety crept on her as Melissa looked at the person who walked towards her. The person
noticed Melissa''s anxiety and confusion, but he didn''t dare to exin. Moving silently, he took the
handcuffs off Melissa''s hands and dragged her out of the room violently.
Melissa had no other option but to follow, confusion shing across her face. ''Are they setting me free?''
Melissa wondered. ''But I haven''t even asked anyone to save me.'' Melissa shook her head as she
walked behind the man.
Melissa couldn''t even open her eyes when she walked out of the little dark room. It took her a while to
adjust to the bright sunlight. Then she saw her, Le, standing in front of her.
The moment Melissa saw Le, all her confusion and anxiety were forgotten.
At the moment, Le was like an angel in Melissa''s eyes. She was glowing under the sunlight and
Melissa felt like Le was the warmest and kindest person in the world.
"Le, save me. Take me home. I don''t want anyone to see me like this," Melissa grabbed Le''s
hands and begged her. Le nodded at Melissa, reassuring her.
Melissa breathed a sigh of relief. She immediately realized that it was Le who saved her.
But then another question hit her, leaving her mouth wide open, big enough to put an egg in it.
''How did Le know that I was in trouble?'' Melissa thought. She acted on impulse when she decided to
fly to Macao. No one knew that she was in Macao, not even Le. Melissa and Le hadn''t talked to
each other for quite a long time.
There was no way that Le would know that Melissa was caught and threatened by the usurers. And
the oddest thing was that Le showed up to save her. It was really shady.
Thinking about all this, she looked at Le with much confusion and suspicion.
But Le was the only person that Melissa could count on now and she dared not let Charles know that
she went to Macao to gamble. Charles would be mad at her if he found out, and Sheryl would make a
big deal out of this. In that case, she would have more difficult days in the Lu family.
"Aunt Melissa, you''re safe now. Why do you still look worried? I have paid the money. Please don''t

"Thank you so much, Le. I can''t imagine what would happen if Charles finds out about this." Melissa
felt furious as she mentioned Charles'' name, thinking how her son was treating hertely.
Le patted Melissa''s back in silence, trying her best tofort her. "Aunt Melissa, you''re just careless
this time," Le said finally. "I''m sure that Charles won''t me you and you''ll be fine as long as you
don''t make the same mistake again." Le understood what Melissa was implying, but she intentionally
said something that would make Melissa mention Sheryl.
This was a great chance for Le to get back to the Lu family. She needed to make good use of it.
"Of course, Charles won''t me me. It''s Sheryl who will. She always gossips about me in front of
Charles, driving a wedge between me and my son. You''re much better than Sheryl, Le. I wish you
were my daughter-inw. That way our family would be much happier," Melissa sighed helplessly.
