Chapter 1519 Nick Tried To Help
Nick repented not having checked his phone before leaving the house. If his phone had not run out of
battery, he could have recorded all that was going on as evidence.
He was vexed but didn''t give in. "Whether you''ve broken thew is none of my business. We''ll find out
when the cops are here. Please be patient."
"Okay, a clean hand wants no washing. Let''s wait and see," Bernard replied with absolutely no sign of
panic in his voice which took Nick by surprise.
Bernard just stood there holding Rachel in his arms. With every passing moment, the excruciating pain
was taking a toll on her body slowly leading her to lose her consciousness. It was just for the warmth of
Bernard''s chest that gave her the strength to hold on, and she somehow managed to catch up with her
breath.
As time ticked away, Nick became more and more anxious. He didn''t know how long he would keep
them there. If Bernard found out that Nick didn''t call the police, he would definitely walk away, and Nick
would not even have any excuse to stop him then.
About waiting for about five minutes, Bernard started to grow impatient. He turned towards Nick and
asked, "When will the police get here? Can you tell me?"

doctor right away. If something bad happens to her due to your interruption, I can''t tell what I''ll do to
you," Bernard said in a way that made Nick''s heart to quiver.
Even before he finished his words, Rachel started panting for breath in his arms and her face turned as
pale as a white sheet, which made Nick shudder with terror.
Perceiving Rachel''s deteriorating health condition, Nick feared that she was going to be out of breath
very soon. He was at a loss of what to do.
"Rx, honey! Hold on! I''ll take you to the doctor now!" Bernard said hurriedly. Bernard lifted Rachel''s
head and patted on her cheeks. After that, he moved Nick away from the way without any hesitation
and headed towards the medical room, without giving Nick even a nce back.
While on the other hand, Nick stood rooted on the spot and watched them disappearing from his eyes.

When he reached Cassie''s office, she was not there. One of her colleagues told him that she had gone
to the wards to attend her patients.

He called out her name even before he reached the door. "Cassie!" he shouted.
Meanwhile, Cassie was engrossed in her work, checking her patient attentively. She frowned as she
heard someone called her name, and it sounded like Nick.
At first, she didn''t take it as real. She chuckled to herself and shook her head in disbelief, wondering
how much she was missing him that she started to get an illusion. If the head nurse came to know that
she got distracted during her work hours, she would surely reprimand Cassie for that.
Cassie hurriedly gathered her thoughts and concentrated on her work, but someone patted on her back
the next moment.
Taken aback, she stood upright and turned to see who it was. It was Nick standing in front of her eyes
with an anxious face.
It was not her illusion after all. Nick was indeed there in the ward. Cassie smiled sweetly at him, both
surprised and delighted.
"Why are you here? Don''t you have to go to work?" she asked.
"My phone is out of charge. Give yours to me. It''s urgent." He was panting heavily as he replied.
Despite her confusion, Cassie took her phone out and handed it to Nick immediately.
Nick grabbed her phone and nodded at her before he came out to the corridor and dialed Sheryl''s
number. He waited anxiously for Sheryl to answer.
At Cloud Advertising Company, Sheryl was holding a meeting with her employees. She was surprised
to spot Cassie''s name shing on the screen of her mobile phone. After all, it was a working hour for
Cassie as well and she usually wouldn''t call her whenever she was on duty.
"Cassie? What''s up?" Anticipating some emergency, Sheryl came out of the conference room and
attended the call after she instructed her colleagues to carry on.
Nick hardly had time to greet her. "This is Nick, Sheryl. I want to ask you some questions, about the
model who tried to drag you jumping off the building. Is her name Lancy?"
"Yes, her name is Lancy. But what happened? How did you know her name?" Sheryl asked curiously.
"She died in the prison, right? Did someone kill her?" Nick threw another question at her.
Sheryl was even more confused, but she decided to tell him everything she knew.
"Yes, she was murdered that night. The police covered up the truth and only told the public that she
died out of no reason," she said, rubbing her head.
"Oh my! I might have made a huge mistake, Sheryl. I have to go now. I''ll call youter!" Nick interrupted
before she could finish and hung up.
Not knowing what he was up to, Sheryl gripped her phone and thought for a while, wondering why Nick
acted so weird.
She then shook her head and went inside the meeting room when she couldn''t get a clue.
Nick was as anxious as a cat on hot bricks. If he was right, the couple he ran into a moment ago was
responsible for Lancy''s death. Moreover, they were the ones who paid her to set Sheryl up. If he let
them go like that, he would never forgive himself for the rest of his life. They might do something even
worse to Sheryl if they got a chance again.
He then took a deep breath to calm down and ran to the ce where he had confronted them, still
holding Cassie''s phone in his hand. Meanwhile, Cassie happened to catch a nce of him passing by
the door. She came out of the ward immediately but only found that he was too far to reach.
Cassie got worried to find Nick in such a desperate temperament. She turned around and excused
herself from her patient before running after him.
Nick called the police while he ran through the corridor searching for Bernard and Rachel.
He looked for them from one end of the corridor to the other, but they were long gone.
He then stopped and wrecked his brain to find a way.
As he recalled that the woman was struggling to breathe when he saw her for thest time. Hence, he

be somewhere at the hospital.
Nick ran his eyes down one door after another. They were so many rooms across the corridor. It felt as
if he was in the middle of a maze. He could not look into each and every room. In case that he
disturbed the doctors'' work inside, they might call the security to kick him out of the hospital itself. Or
he might even end up causing some unforgivable consequence.
He wished that he had asked what wrong the woman was in the first ce. Then he could get a lead to
