Chapter 1486 Sour Food
Le could not mend her ways. Even in public, Le behaved in such unscrupulous. No wonder, she
got caught by Sheryl so easily.
Just after Le took her seat, she asked for a menu from a waiter. Then as soon as she got the menu,
she started ordering without even sparing a look at Holley, who looked rather unhappy by Le''s
gesture. Le randomly picked the most expensive dishes from the menu and ordered much more than
two girls could finish up in one meal.
Holley stared at Le with absolute disgust. She despised Le''s behavior that came across like an
upstart who was hell-bent to prove that she came from a rich background. However, her gestures
revealed quite opposite of thatpletely bereft of any refinement or aristocracy. Holley mapped
Le with her eyes as she marked her attitude with much abhorrence. However, she refrained from
making any sarcastic remark on Le''s face. After all, Holley was not like Le. She had seen much of
life, so no matter how much scornful she felt in her heart, she chose to hide it from Le.
Moreover, Le would prove to be useful for her at the moment. Had it not been for her vested interest,
Holley wouldn''t have even spared a nce at the likes of Le! And for such upstart behavior, she
would have left without hesitation.
"Okay, that''s enough. Go to make them," Le said to the waiter with a smile when she finished
ordering. Her words were harsh, and her tone was extremely arrogant that would put anybody with a
decent background to shames.
As the waiter left, Le picked up the teacup to take a small sip. She exuded a fake elegance and
sense of style that made Holley fly into a rage.

"Le, don''t you think you ordered too many dishes? There are only two of us. I don''t think we will be
able to eat them all," Holley said slowly.
Le let out a snobbishugh, shrugged her shoulders and replied, "So? Would it matter if we don''t eat
them all? Since we''re here, I want to taste as many as dishes I can. I don''t want to waste such a good
opportunity."
Holley felt even more repulsive towards Le when she heard her reply. ''How hungry she is! She is
indeed a horrible woman!" she thought to herself.
"Do you know what I wanted to do the most when I was in prison?" Le looked at Holley and asked
with her wandering eyes.
Holley suppressed her disgust and asked, "What was it?"
"I wished I could eat toasted chicken. Delicious, juicy and sulent toasted chicken!" Le closed her
eyes as if she revived the taste of toasted chicken in her mind, and then opened them all of a sudden.
"Do you know how the prison dishes tasted?" Le suddenly fixed her eyes on Holley as she said.
When she saw Holley flinch, she softened her eyes and shook her head. She then clicked her tongue
and continued, "It was the taste that you could never imagine. It was tasteless. It had no taste at all.
No, I was wrong. Actually, it had a taste. It tasted so sour. What a strong sour taste! When you took the
first spoon, you would never want a second one. But you would be hungry if you didn''t eat. So you had
to force yourself to eat. I still remember how I forced myself to eat. After I swallowed, I used my finger
to pull it out of my throat. Then I took another spoon and threw up until I felt that the food did not taste
sour or stunk. That was when I felt assured..."
"So what made you to feel assured?" Holley felt disgusted when she heard Le''s story at the
beginning, but she became curious towards the end of it.
Upon hearing Holley''s question, Le let out a heartyugh. "Because I knew I wouldn''t die in prison. I
would have a chance to crawl myself out of that hell."
Le''sughter terrified Holley. She suddenly felt that she didn''t know the woman who was sitting
across her. Earlier, she had thought that Le was born in an ordinary family and didn''t see much of
life, so it would be easy for her to manipte.
But she was wrong. She forgot what Le had been gone through. She had been in prison! How much
etiquette could you expect from a woman who had been in prison? Even if she was a fool, she would
be tough after she experienced life in prison.
Although Le didn''t have any ability, she had her ambition and coldness to her advantage. With them,
she would definitely aplish something unusual.
When Holley thought about that, Le looked different to her. She changed her attitude towards Le
because she needed to make the right decision if she wanted to use her.
When they were still talking, dishes were served one by one. Holley suggested, "Let''s eat first.
Otherwise the food will be cold."
"Okay." Le picked up the chopsticks and dug into her favorite dish immediately without showing any
mark of modesty.
Holley couldn''t help frown at this uncivil gesture. Then she took up the chopsticks to take food from
another te.
While they were eating and talking, they heard a familiar voice from behind.
"I''m so surprised to meet you here."
The voice...
Le sprang in her seat as if she had been struck by a whip. She lifted her head and saw Sheryl
standing next to her with a wild smile.
Le was always on alert in regards to Sheryl as she knew that Sheryl wasn''t as harmless as she
looked like.
Even Holley was startled at Sheryl''s sudden appearance, but she didn''t show it out. She even looked
up and smiled, "What a coincident! Would you like to join us?"
Le red at Sheryl. ''What a bitch! I have left the Lu family! It was such a huge humiliation for me!
What does she want from me now? Can''t she just leave me alone?'' Le said to herself in resentment.
''She is like a ghost!''
Le even believed that Sheryl must have stalked her. Otherwise she wouldn''t have shown up like this
all of a sudden!
Le made blind and disorderly conjectures. But Sheryl ignored. She threw a nce at the dishes on
the table and said, "You two really have huge bellies to hold all of these dishes!"
Everyone could hear the sarcasm in her words. But Holley didn''t think it was a big deal because it was
not her who ordered the dishes.
But the same words sounded extremely harsh to Le. Her first reaction was that Sheryl was beating
around the bush to mock her gluttony.
She paid for what she ate. Why would she have to take Sheryl''s mocking?
Le then threw her chopsticks and was about to stand up.
But Holley held her hand immediately and made her to sit down. Holley knew clearly that Sheryl was
Charles'' wife and the hostess of the Lu family. She didn''t want to fall out with her, which would ruin the
cooperation between herpany and Charles''pany.
So, no matter how eager Holley was to use the fool, Le, to deal with Sheryl. Even though it wouldn''t
make much harm, she was willing to work off her feeling. She now had to bear with Sheryl for her
"Let go of my hand! You heard her! I''m not you. I can''t take it." Le stamped her feet with rage. She
was ring at Holley.
To her surprise, Holley smiled gently. She then patted Le''s arm and said, "Yes, I heard. But I don''t
think Mrs. Lu said anything to make you angry."
"Holley!" Le was furious, but Holley''s cool reaction towards Sheryl''s offensive words took her by
surprise. Did she want Sheryl to say something more terrible to qualify as an offensive remark?
Seeing two of them echoing each other, Sheryl felt interested. She then brushed her palms against
each other and said, "Phew! The air here is so polluted. I can''t stay here for another second. I have to
leave. Enjoy yourselves."
Sheryl''s provocation made Le stamp with rage again. But Holley pressed her hands to pacify her.
"Hold your horses, Le," Holley said in a low yet stern voice. She then lifted her head and smiled,
"Mrs. Lu, since you''re here, please join us."
