Chapter 1479 The Trap
"Thank you. I''m so happy that youe to visit me. I''ve recovered already but Aron insists that I get
confined. I feel so bored. Nick, tell me the truth. What''s going on between you and Cassie?"
I''s question startled Nick.
Sheryl felt surprised too. Although she knew that I cared about Nick and Cassie''s rtionship, she
thought her question was too straightforward. But it was I''s style.
"I told I about the misunderstanding between you and Cassie. Nick, the reason why we asked you
here now is because we want to help you two to clear things out, if you don''t mind," Sheryl added.
Upon hearing that, Nick felt a little embarrassed. "Thank you so much," he murmured.
"Can you tell us what exactly is going on between you two?" I urged impatiently. She couldn''t wait
any longer.
Nick had no choice but to tell them what happened in his apartment. The twodies listened attentively.
But he didn''t expect that after he finished the story, he heard I shout out, "How silly you are! You
were set up! It was a trap!"
Nick was astonished when he heard I''s words. Sheryl then added, "Cassie told me what had
happened after she left. And now we are sure about one thing: you and Cassie were both set up."

"We were set up?" Nick was confused with thedies'' conclusion. "What are you talking about?"
"Cassie told me that she ran into Jordan after she left your apartment. Then Jordan sent her to a hotel.
But don''t worry, he didn''t stay with her that night. He left atst. But just think about it. That''s really
strange! How did that woman suddenly turn up at your apartment? Why did Jordan coincidentally show
up near your apartment too?" Sheryl voiced out her analysis.
Her words were a bolt from the blue to Nick. He stood there, numb.
That evening came across his mind as shbacks. That woman appeared in his apartment for some
unknown reason. Then Cassie showed up all of a sudden to find them, and she ended up running
away.
Without a doubt, Cassie must have thought he had another woman so she left with resentment. And
Jordan, he must have learned about it so he decided to stay near her, like a vulture waiting for his
opportunity tofort Cassie. What an evil n! Jordan had it well-nned to make sure he could
step in when Cassie was fragile. No women could resist that.
Did Cassie feel touched?
The thought hit Nick and his face turned pale.
Seeing Nick''s reaction, Sheryl and I exchanged looks and they both felt relieved.
They felt lucky that Nick was still in love with Cassie. Otherwise, they wouldn''t know what they had to
do.
"Sheryl, do you think Cassie still loves me or..." Nick hesitated for a while but he asked the question
anyway.
"Of course, she does. Don''t worry about it. She still loves you. She doesn''t like that Jordan," Sheryl
replied confidently.
"As the saying goes ''Fortune favors fools.'' It is so true. Cassie is beautiful and smart but she loves a
fool." I was a little bit angry with Nick as she thought this wouldn''t happen if it wasn''t for him.
Even if I med Nick, he still felt relieved listening to their words.
He wouldn''t feel worried as long as he knew Cassie still loved him. And they believed that she loved
him.
"Hey, Nick. I need to make a phone call outside. Sorry about that. I''ll be back, okay?" Nick slightly
nodded to acknowledge her. Sheryl winked at I.
I immediately understood what Sheryl''s real intention was. The wink was enough to tell her that she
was putting their n into action, so she immediately nodded, "Go ahead."
Nick didn''t doubt it at all. He continued chatting with I while Sheryl made her way out.
After Sheryl walked out of the ward, she immediately called Cassie. The phone rang once and then she
picked up.
"Hi, Cassie! It''s me. Are you free right now? I is not feeling so well just now," Sheryl lied, hoping to
get Cassie''s attention.
Cassie sounded worried, "What happened to I? Do you think it will be better if I get her attending
doctor to check?"
"It''s unnecessary. She feels disgusted. It''s not a big deal. But it will be better if you have time to check
on her now," Sheryl immediately exined.
Cassie replied, "No problem. Give me a second." After that, Cassie whispered to a colleague. Sheryl
stayed on the phone and found out that she was handing over some work so she waited.
"Okay, Sheryl, I''m on my way," Cassie confirmed with Sheryl after her colleague agreed.
"See you then."
Sheryl hung up and walked back into the ward.
I turned as soon as she entered the ward. Seeing Sheryl''s expression, I already knew that Cassie
wasing soon so she continued some small talks with Nick.
"Nick, if Cassie decides to forgive you and start over, will you have any problems with that?" I
pretended to ask him casually.
Nick became excited when he heard I''s question. He suddenly felt shy and stammered, "I won''t
have any problem with that, without doubt. I just..." Nick stopped and his face turned gloomy.
Sheryl noticed it immediately. She thenforted Nick, "Cassie will be here soon. Just tell her what
you have told us and everything will be okay. Believe me, she will forgive you."
"Do you really think so?" Nick lifted his head, his eyes filled with eagerness.
"You are such a fool. You will know the answer after you ask Cassie when she gets here," Sheryl
answered Nick, hoping to lighten up the mood.
Nick suddenly started to fidget. He felt nervous and excited knowing that it was only a matter of time
before he could see Cassie again.
Soon, they heard Cassie''s voice as she entered the door.
"I, Sheryl told me that you didn''t seem too well. How are you feeling exactly?"
Beauty''s voice came earlier than her appearance.
Nick turned around unconsciously, being startled by Cassie''s voice.
And there she was, standing by the door, on her nurse uniform. She looked exactly the same as how
he had pictured her in his head, even wearing the same expression. But Nick felt somewhat
disconnected to her.
"Cassie!" Nick couldn''t help standing up and murmuring. His eyes remained fixed on her.
Cassie was also surprised when she saw Nick. She felt too excited that she could hear her heart beat
too fast. Her body didn''t seem to want to move, so she just stood still.
Both of them looked at each other in silence, disregarding everyone else''s presence in the ward.
Sheryl and I watched as the couple stared at each other in silence. They couldn''t help but smile at
the thought that they pulled it off.
